Chapter 26
CHAPTERTWENTY-SIX
“I WAS WONDERING where you snuck off to.”
Luca’s body went on instant alert at the sound of Dom’s sleep-sexy voice as it found him at the stove. He’d woken a little while ago to the soft sounds of Dom’s breathing as he slept peacefully. Luca had tried to fall back to sleep, but as he lay there staring at the coffered ceilings, all he could think about was what was going to happen after this.
What was going to happen when they went back home? Would he still get to see Dom like this? Naked and peaceful for maybe the first time in his life? Or would he revert to the old Dom? Luca didn’t know what to expect, but the reality was that they would eventually have to go home, and he wasn’t sure his heart could take being treated like a prisoner again—or even worse, ignored.
He’d tossed and turned for a little while but, after realizing he wasn’t going to get back to sleep, decided to get up and make them some breakfast.
“I didn’t sneak off anywhere, thank you very much.” Luca grabbed the butter from the fridge. “I woke up early and thought I’d make you breakfast.”
Dom crossed his arms over his phenomenal chest. “That seems fair to me, since you wore me out last night.”
Luca scoffed and turned his attention to the frying pan he’d just gotten out. “That’s not how I remember it.”
“No?”
“Nope,” he said, shaking his head as he cut off some butter and dropped it in the pan.
“So you weren’t the one riding me so long and hard last night that you collapsed from exhaustion?”
Luca’s body heated at the reminder. “No, that was definitely me. But how exactly did that wear you out? I was the one doing all the work.”
Dom’s eyes ran a fiery trail down to Luca’s ass, and he licked his lips. “It was my cock that showed true stamina.”
Luca laughed and grabbed a couple of eggs out of the basket on the counter. “Well, in that case, I’m making breakfast for me and your very dedicated— Aah.” Luca moaned as Dom took hold of his hips and rubbed his cock up against Luca’s ass. Dedicated indeed.
“I didn’t like waking up to find you gone.”
Luca closed his eyes, uncaring of the eggs now sizzling in the pan, as Dom’s words washed over him. Not so long ago that kind of statement from Dom would’ve had a whole different meaning. But as he began to kiss up Luca’s neck to his jaw, Luca knew exactly where Dom’s mind was.
“You aren’t hungry?” he said as Dom’s hand came around to massage his erection.
“I am,” Dom said by his ear, nipping at the lobe. “So how about we lose these”—he flicked open the button on Luca’s shorts—“and you turn around and let me eat.”
Holy shit.
Luca panted as he opened his eyes and turned off the burner. Just as he was about to turn around, Dom’s hand slipped into his shorts.
“Oh God,” Luca said as strong fingers wrapped around his cock.
“Hmm. I was always told not to play with my food, but this time, I can’t help it.” Dom dragged his tongue up Luca’s stubbled cheek to his ear. “Give me your mouth, Luca.”
Luca obeyed, turning his head and opening to Dom, who thrust his tongue inside and aggressively took what he wanted. It was a rough, dominating kiss full of possession.
Luca’s heart was pounding almost as hard his dick, and just as he was about to pull his mouth free, he heard a loud cough from somewhere in the kitchen, and Dom’s hand immediately froze in place.
“I hope I’m not interrupting anything,” an all-too-familiar voice said, and the two of them all but jumped apart and turned to face...Vincenzo.
What the hell? What is he doing here?
As Luca’s brain tried to make sense of what he was seeing, Dom ran a hand through his hair and cursed beneath his breath.
Shit. This was not good. Not good at all. There was no way Vincenzo hadn’t seen what they’d just been doing. Luca didn’t dare speak, let alone move to fasten his shorts, as Vincenzo’s eyes flicked between the two of them. He was dressed as casual as Luca had ever seen in camel-colored pants and a white open-collared shirt, and draped over his arm was a matching suit jacket.
“What? No greeting?” he said. “No ‘it’s good to see you, Father’?”
Luca glanced at Dom, who didn’t seem in the least bit embarrassed that his father had just caught the two of them about to have sex in his Italian villa’s kitchen.
“My apologies. I didn’t know you were coming.”
“Clearly.” Vincenzo looked to Luca, and never had he wanted a floor to open up and swallow him more. “I see you are both…safe and well.”
Luca aimed his eyes at the floor and prayed Dom would answer.
“Yes,” Dom said. “We’ve run into no issues during our stay here. There’s been no threat.”
“Except the one in your bed.”
Luca winced at the biting tone, but before he could gather the nerve to tell Vincenzo he was no threat, Dom said, “How did you know we were here?”
“Does it matter?”
Luca shrank back to the edge of the counter, trying to make himself invisible.
“You know it does. If the location is not secure then we will need to look into—”
“It’s secure,” Vincenzo said as he looked around the kitchen. “I followed a hunch that you would come here.”
“Why? We haven’t been back here for years.”
“Yet this is where you brought him.”
Luca looked at Dom, who dropped his gaze, and for the first time since Vincenzo had made his presence known, Dom looked almost ashamed.
“I’m sorry if I overstepped. I know this place is—”
“Perfect.” Vincenzo took a step toward Dom and took his son’s face between his hands. “It was the perfect choice. It’s quiet, no one knows about it, and there’s something…magical here.” He let go of Dom. “It made sense you would bring him here.”
Luca’s pulse thrummed as the blood rang in his ears. What did that mean? That it made sense Dom would bring him here?
“Let us go outside and talk,” Vincenzo said, turning his back on Luca, and it was clear he wasn’t invited. “There’s much for you and me to catch up on.”
