Chapter Seven

Adira stared at herself in the bathroom mirror, wondering who this person was staring back. No longer a virgin, yet still haven't had sex. For some reason she thought she'd feel … different. She did feel different, but not from what had just conspired. How could she have known she had a thing for bad boys? That she liked being between them? If only her ex-fiancé could see her now.

Cold fish, my ass!

She certainly wasn't frigid. Turned out she simply didn't like bland men, and now that she'd met Ares and Hunter, she realized that was all Abel was. A bland, lying weasel who probably had a tiny dick. She turned and left the bathroom to discover Hunter waited for her. He held out his hand, and she took it. He led her from the club into a long hallway where she realized the back offices were located. In the last one, Ares sat behind a desk. He smiled at her.

"I'll need these filled out," he said as he pushed a folder toward her. When she looked inside, she realized it was employee paperwork. "Bring back tomorrow night."

"Okay," she replied and stuck the folder in her backpack.

Suddenly, she felt self-conscious. Did she just leave? Were they done with her? She wet her lips with her tongue, debating if she should go.

"Sit," Hunter said, gesturing to the chair in front of the desk. He perched on the edge while Ares was seated behind it. "Things we need to talk about. We've been searching a long time for someone like you."

"Like me?"

"As beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside."

That pleased her.

"I sensed your innocence," Ares said. "A rare thing nowadays."

"If you say yes, this'll be exclusive, for however long it lasts," Hunter added. "We won't lie behind your back. We won't fuck around."

It didn't escape her notice the words he used. For however long it lasts . Meaning, she couldn't fall in love because one day it would be over. She was a novelty to them, and she had to determine if she was okay with that. Taking a deep breath, she jumped in with both feet and nodded.

"Then this is how it's going to work," Ares said, satisfaction gleaming in his eyes. "You'll work Sunday through Thursday here at the club."

"Every Friday night you'll spend with us at the clubhouse," Hunter finished.

"Is that acceptable?" Ares asked.

"Um, yeah. Sure."

"We take it you aren't on the pill."

"No. No reason to be."

"There's a reason now," Hunter remarked, smiling. "We have a club physician who can get you on it. Accidents happen so we want to take precautions."

"Of course," she replied.

"In the meantime, Hunter and I will get tested to make sure you're one hundred percent safe with us."

"Okay."

"I think that takes care of all the serious business. I'd like you to arrive at noon so the floor manager can train you."

She nodded.

"Friday night, there's a party," Hunter said. "We'll tackle the next sin then."

She liked how he phrased that. "So, I'll be spending the night?"

"Our little toy," Ares mused with a smirk. "Hope you're ready."

Her heart rate spiked, and for a moment, she wondered what the hell she was doing. Did she really just make a sexual bargain with two men? If only Abel could see her now.

"I want to explore, um…" she trailed off, embarrassed. It was difficult to get the words out.

Hunter rose and walked behind her chair, resting his hands on her shoulders. Then he slid them down her torso until he cupped her breasts. His breath fanned across her cheek.

"What would you like to explore, baby girl? Be honest. That's the only way this works."

She took a deep breath. "I want to explore … kink."

A smile lifted the corners of Ares's mouth. "I think we can do that."

"Good girl," Hunter whispered in her ear.

Adira melted at the praise. Who knew?

****

Her entire viewpoint on life had changed. Actions she didn't quite understand yet, but that's what she wanted to discover. Who was Adira Dobias?

"You're back early," Livia said.

Adira held up the folder. "Paperwork."

"Ah."

"I'm training tomorrow." She hesitated with the next part. Would her friend understand? "And then Friday night, I've been invited to a party at the biker club as a special guest."

Livia blinked. "What?"

"I've bee n— "

Livia waved her words away. "Rhetorical question. What does ‘special guest' mean?"

"I've, ah, kind of befriended Ares and Hunter."

Livia searched her face. "Both, as in both?"

"Yeah."

"Those men don't do friendship, Adira."

"Well, it's probably more accurate to say I'll be a plaything."

"Plaything? Oh, hell no! You're not going back, and you're certainly not goin g— "

Adira put her hand on Livia's mouth, shutting her up.

"Please listen." She didn't move her hand away until Livia nodded her agreement. "My parents betrayed me in the worst possible way. While I thought they sheltered me from a wicked world, turns out they were the wicked in my world. There is a complete side of me that my upbringing suppressed, and I really want to explore myself."

"Are you talking about sex?"

"Amongst other things," Adria replied.

"Honey, most people don't know what turns them on. But that doesn't mean you go finding it in a motorcycle club. The Death Riders aren't good people."

Doubt crept into her mind, but then she remembered her involvement with Ares and Hunter was just a temporary thing. No strings attached. No hearts to be broken.

"You're dating one of them," she reminded her.

Livia groaned. "I should've seen that coming."

"I know about them," she told Livia. "Well, I have an idea. But I also know it's not going to last. This isn't about them taking advantage of me, Livia, this is about me learning who I am."

"Through sex?"

"Sex is one part. It's this part. A few weeks down the road it'll be another part. I love that you worry about me, but this is something I've got to do."

Livia threw her head back and let out a sigh. "Okay," she said reluctantly. "But if they hurt you, I'm going to be taking names and busting ass."

Adira laughed. "Deal."
