10. Emily

TEN

EMILY

Why did I do that? I kissed the faceless man because I wanted to make sure there was a person behind the mask. And the man behind the mask has the softest lips I've ever kissed.

Someone who has so much darkness and anger in them knows how to make a woman go weak at the knees with just a kiss.

"Where are you?" I hear White Eyes ask.

I sit on the couch and grab the beer off the table, and watch White Eyes talking to his brothers.

"I'll be there, give me two minutes." He ends the call and looks over at me. Every time he looks at me, I wonder what he's thinking. His eyes are covered in white, so I can't see what they're saying. "I have to leave." The words escape slowly from him, because my body tenses up.

He's leaving me, he's leaving me when there are people wanting to kill me.

I get off the sofa and walk over to him. "What if...if someone comes?" I ask, rubbing my hands over my sweater, as I move my weight from one foot to the other.

"We have a camera outside the front door, and two on the windows. I will know if anyone comes close." He digs through his pockets, and pulls out of his phone. "Here is a phone, it's got all of our numbers in there, you need anything, message or call."

I take the phone from him, and look through the contacts, smiling when I see what he has programmed each of them as. "I'll only message you." He doesn't say anything and walks over to the door.

"Lock every single one of these. Do not open it for anyone, and I mean anyone." I look at the four locks.

"But how will you get in?" I ask him.

He takes a moment before answering. "Don't worry about me getting in here." I smile because I can hear the amusement in his tone, even with the fucked up computer voice you can hear it.

"Are you smiling under the mask?" I ask him, and he turns around opening the door.

"Lock it." Without saying another word he leaves the house, and my stomach drops.

What did I think was going to happen, a goodbye kiss, him saying he will be back soon. Was I hoping he would show me his face once he kissed me?

I lock the door, and double check each lock is done, and walk back over to the sofa, and sit there looking at the phone he's given me.

Emily - All locked up.

I wait for his reply once the two ticks both turn blue, but nothing. Looking around the house, wondering what the hell I'm meant to do to pass the time. Talking to no one, this is going to be horrible. I open up my messages again and send another message.

Emily - Can you please bring a drawing pad and pencils please.

No reply, and I walk around the apartment, waiting for a reply, or at least my drawing pad. I need something to take my mind off White Eyes, and how nice it felt him kissing me.

How can I be attracted to a man, whose face I haven't even seen. To a man who hasn't told me anything about him, yet I'm pulled to him in a way I can't explain.

I've been tossing and turning in bed all night, well the time I've been in here anyway. I don't know who it was, but someone had left drawing pencils and a pad on the table when I got out of the shower. So I've been drawing a lot to get my mind away from everything else happening, getting lost in the world of a blank canvas.

Fuck knows how they got in the apartment as everything was closed, and it should scare me they can get in and out without me even knowing about it. If it was anyone else but the four of them, they would know. White Eyes said they have camera's watching, so there is no need to panic, it's easier to say than do.

Getting out of bed, I head to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

I open the door, and as I take a few steps out of the bedroom, the light comes on making me jump. I hit the corner of the countertop in my waist, rubbing it and I look over to see who it is.

"Fucking hell you scared me," I look over at Black Eyes sitting on the couch.

Do these people not sleep?

"Sit down," he snaps. If I could hear his voice, I would say he sounds pissed off, but the computer voice isn't really giving me much.

Walking over to the couch, he slides a notepad across the table, and I just stare at him for a moment before looking around to see if anyone else is in the room with us, and they are just hiding.

"He's not here," Black Eyes says. I snap my head to look over at him. "I want you to write your full name, date of birth, place of birth, National Insurance number, every little detail about you, your sister, parents and fucking grandparents." He leans back into the couch, and I look over at the notepad. What's happened, I thought I told them everything.

"Have you found something?" I ask in a whisper, scared to hear what he has to tell me.

"No," he leans forward and turns his head towards me. "The car crash information is gone, it's nowhere to be found. We find something, the following day it's gone. You're being erased by someone, someone who wants you dead. So tell me what you're hiding."

"No...nothing-"

"You're hiding something, because someone is going through a lot of fucking effect to make you invisible," Black Eyes shouts, making me jump a little on the couch because I thought he was the one who was calm out of the four of them, but they're all as crazy as each other.

"I don't know who they are!" I tell him, but I don't think he's listening, so I grab the notepad and start writing everything I can think of about myself. The school I went to, the college, my first job, first fucking boyfriend, every tiny detail. Details I didn't think I ever needed to remember, but now I'm playing my life as a film, so I tell them everything not wanting to leave anything out.

I look up at Black Eyes who's watching me, and I don't even know what to say to him. I'm so scared these people will find me again, and next time I might not be so lucky.

What if the faceless men aren't there next time?

"Here, this is everything from my primary school, high school, first job, first boyfriend, every little detail I can think of." I hand him the notepad, and wipe the tear which has just escaped my eyes. "I promise you I'm not lying about myself," I tell him.

I hear him take a deep breath then he leans forward from where he is sitting. He turns to face me, then takes a quick glance over at the drawing pad.

"You have a good talent there." He gets up and walks over to the door. "One of us will be over in about ten minutes."

"Will it be-"

"No, we have some things to do, it's Wesley."

Before I can say anything, he leaves, and I go to lock the door, and take in a deep breath wondering what things they have to do.
