7. Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Theo
I wake up to the feeling of being trapped. I can't seem to move my body. I start looking around, and I finally see a beautiful goddess all tangled up on top of me. Her arm anchors my chest and arms down, and her leg is thrown over my own, securing me firmly to the mattress.
Her face is dangerously close to mine, and I try to control myself lest I kiss her. Her sweet kiss last night almost broke something in me. I wanted to straddle her and make her mine. My hard-on took at least thirty minutes to behave. It seemed it took her a while to go to sleep as well. The point is we eventually fell asleep, and now it's a new day. A new day where I want to ravish her goddess-like body.
"Goddess, wake up."
I shake her shoulder a bit to see if that wakes her up. Her eyes crack open, and when she sees me, she smiles. It's a bright smile as if she's genuinely happy that I'm by her side. She closes her eyes, and the smile is still on her face. Then she jumps up.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry. I was all over you. I don't know what happened."
"It's okay."
"No, it's not! It looked like I was groping you. Will you forgive me?"
"Already forgotten. Let's get ready for breakfast."
We go downstairs and have a go at the buffet. Helene brings an overflowing plate of food back to the table, and I can't hold my laugh in. She's so cute but how does she keep herself so slim if she eats like this all the time?
"Did you run a marathon when I wasn't looking?"
"I have a normal, healthy appetite for a girl my age. The doctor said so."
"You must be the envy of all your girlfriends."
"And some boyfriends, too. Ha."
I cross my arms and watch her dig into her plate. It's a whole experience, watching my goddess eat. She's really in love with food, and I'm starting to like that about her. Will I love her the same if she balloons in weight? Of course. She's a joy to me.
A text comes in from the mechanic.
"Mechanic says he'll have the car ready by 11. He'll drop it by here for our convenience."
"That's nice of him," she says between mouthfuls.
I don't let her know that I paid the guy extra to do that for us. I had hoped the car would be ready later in the day so I'd have an excuse to spend more time with Helene, but things don't always work out the way I want them to.
"What are we going to do for the next two hours while we wait for this guy?"
"We could go for a walk. Help you digest the five meals you ate so you don't gain weight."
"Right," she smirks. "I see you're going to be one of those boyfriends."
"All I heard is that you consider me your boyfriend."
"Not yet, hot stuff. You need to do more wooing."
We take a walk around the park, holding hands and pointing at the exhibits. I spend half of the time fantasizing about being not only Helene's boyfriend but her lover, her confidante, and her husband. She's the whole package for me and I couldn't be prouder to have her walking at my side for the rest of our lives. I know it's all going a bit too fast, but after stalking her for three months, there's no doubt I know this woman.
"When you were a kid, what did you want to do when you grew up?" She asks.
"A fireman, a policeman, something where I carried weapons and had authority."
"So what happened?"
"Actually, I still volunteer at the fire department. Once every three months, I spend a week with them."
"Is that why you're so in shape? I thought it was for the ladies."
"That, too. My business partners aren't very happy that I do it. They consider it risking my life, but I want to help any way I can."
"Would you stop if your wife asked you to?"
"I don't know. Helping feels like the right thing to do."
"Will you take me to the station? Introduce me to the guys?"
"No way. They'll try and steal you away from me."
"No loyalty these days. Such a shame."
We get back to the hotel just in time to meet the mechanic. I thank him for his work and Helene goes to retrieve all her packages while I do the checkout. It seems like such a couple thing to do. We're perfectly matched, and I'm convinced that I'll ask her to marry me soon. Once the packages are all loaded up in the trunk, we start the drive back to Miami.
The day is sunny and bright and we talk about silly things, like what we would name our pets if we had any, or what vegetables we'd plant in our garden. I need to take her to my apartment so she can see where I live, but it's too soon and she might feel pressured about staying the night. I decide I can take some pics and send them to her later.
Before long, we're in front of her house. I don't want this day to end. I go to my trunk and get all her packages while she waits for me at her front door. She opens the door and lets me in. She guides me to her dining room table and tells me I can put the packages down there. I feel her presence right next to me, and I glance down to see her looking up at me.
I'll never get tired of looking into those violet eyes. She's unique with her platinum hair as well. I lower my face to give her a kiss and she goes up on her tiptoes. Our lips are a breath away from touching, but we are in a trance.
"Can I kiss you, goddess?"
"Yes." She whispers so low I almost can't hear it.
Being this close to her is intoxicating, and once again, I say to myself, "I don't want this moment to end." When our lips almost touch, someone clears their throat, and Helene pulls away from me.
"Hey, Mags." Helene steps back and glances between the woman and me. "This is Theo Foley. Theo, this is my sister Marguerite. She's a cop, and she's been looking for my stalker."
I feel faint at the introduction and wonder if I should come clean or if I should run as fast as my feet can take me. But my good manners prevail, and I offer my hand to Helene's sister.
"Yes, I'm Theo. The stalker. But I promise I had a good reason for sta…I mean watching Helene from afar. We're meant to be."
The cop gives me a weird look and I just realize how that sounded. Like I'm some sicko obsessed with her sister. Which, let's be honest, I sort of am. I should have reached out to Helene as soon as I found her on social media, not stalk her to find out her every secret.
"What do you mean, meant to be , Mr. Foley?"
"We were matched." I stumble with my words. "At the agency."
"Yes, that's right," Helene says as she grabs her sister's arm and pulls her toward the kitchen in the back.
All I hear are angry whispers, and I start to feel uncomfortable.
"Helene," I call out a little louder than is proper.
She runs back to me and grabs my hand.
"Let me show you out, Theo. I've had a wonderful time, and I want to spill all to my sister. Call me later?"
She rushes me out of the house, but on the doorstep, I stay still and push back. I then kiss her on the forehead.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know you better, goddess. Take care of yourself."
With that, I leave, wondering if I just damaged everything by admitting to being her stalker to her cop sister.
