Chapter 18

Chapter Eighteen

When I finally get home, I’m buzzing. I put on some comfy shoes for our date so I can enjoy myself while we’re trawling around the mini-golf course.

I’m a combination of anxious nerves and anxious excitement when I arrive. The whole place is fairy tale themed, which is cute but childish, and there’s a bumper car course next door. Given the way I drive, we should probably stay away from it.

I find the Lupine Landscaping truck parked in the lot with Leon, Jace, Quinn and Eli leaned against the bed chatting. When I park next to them, they all stand up straight and wave in unison.

Leon hugs me first, lifting me up off my feet and kissing me squarely on the lips. He grins as he puts me down, and then it’s Jace’s turn. This kiss is more tender but more charged, making me think of what he might do to me later. Quinn pecks my lips, then my nose and cheeks.

“You look cute,” he says, surveying my outfit of a short dress and brightly colored jewelry. “Scrumptious.”

Jace arches an eyebrow. “Scrumptious?”

“Isn’t she?” Quinn takes my hand as we head toward the entrance. “Like you could just eat her up in one mouthful.”

Leon laughs, but Jace just shakes his head.

“I promise you’re not a bonbon to me,” Jace whispers in my ear, and I giggle. There’s nothing like three devastatingly hot men lavishing attention on you like you’re the center of their world.

Eli is the only one who doesn’t speak. He gives me a cursory nod of greeting, and then as we head into the course, falls into step behind us.

“How are you?” I ask him, letting the other three go on ahead so I can walk alongside him. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”

He offers a half smile. “Yeah. You’ve had a lot going on, haven’t you?”

I feel the flush before it even shows on my face. That’s one way to put it. “I guess so. I haven’t even gone on a good run in a while.”

He nods, like he knows already. “Yeah. I haven’t seen you at the site recently.”

That must be why he’s quiet today. We haven’t had the same chance to get to know each other, and I haven’t really put the effort into trying. I’ve been too busy getting to know his three brothers instead.

While Quinn, Leon, and Jace walk on ahead, all laughing and jabbing each other with elbows, I take a good look at him. I love Eli’s dark hair, and how his eyelashes are longer than his brothers’. He’s a little more slender, but his muscle is packed in tight. What does his werewolf form look like? He must have one of those knots, too.

Woof. I really let my imagination get away with me, and now I’m thinking about him in a completely inappropriate way. Eli turns to me and blinks, and I quickly look forward again. Fuck. Can he tell what I’m thinking?

After checking out balls and clubs from the front desk, the five of us head to the starting hole. Quinn urges me to go first, which makes me deeply self-conscious about how badly I’m going to fumble this. Sure enough, my ball goes flying across the small green, completely missing the gate for the castle.

But none of the guys remark on my abject failure as Jace goes next, knocking his ball right under the open portcullis. Leon’s ball gets close to going in, but Quinn’s ends up somewhere near mine, on the other side of the course.

Eli gives a firm hit, and his ball sails past all of us. It rolls perfectly under the portcullis, then bounces off the edge of the green and flies directly into the hole at the end.

“Hole in one!” I exclaim. “Good job, Eli!”

He gives me a shy nod, then slings his golf club over his shoulder before moving on ahead. It might take some time to coax him out, but I’m intent on doing it today.

“Have you played before?” I ask him as we head to the next hole. “You’re pretty good.”

“Quinn makes me go to the range sometimes,” Eli says. “He just likes to hit balls as hard as he can, but I’ve been working on my putts and my accuracy.”

I like how the brothers all do activities together.

“Having siblings must be fun,” I say wistfully. “Built-in friends.” I wish I’d had some growing up, even if it was just so I’d have someone else in the trenches with me managing Mom.

Eli shrugs. “We weren’t always friends. Kids have rivalries. Since I’m younger, sometimes Jace and Leon pushed me into things I wasn’t ready for.”

I squint, because it sounds like he’s saying something without saying it, but I don’t know what it is.

At the next hole, I go first again, and try to position myself for a better hit. Leon walks up behind me and puts his hands on my hips, then he leans down low.

“Do you want to get in through the gate this time?” he asks into my ear, making the hair at the nape of my neck stand on end.

“Yes.” My breath comes a little bit short at how good he smells this close to me. “What do I need to do?”

I stand up straighter and try to hold the club a little more level, but Leon just chuckles.

“Your form isn’t quite right.” He adjusts my stance with his fingers on my waist. I let him do it, because damn, I like him showing me what to do. His fingers trail down my arms to where I’m gripping the club, and he wraps his hands around mine. “Now try again.”

I stay in the position he’s shown me as I tap the ball with the flat end of my club. Obediently, it rolls in through the gate to the other side of the castle wall, and I whoop. Quinn claps his hands, and Leon gives me a wink. I still hit three over par by the end of the hole, but that’s better than the previous one, so I don’t mind.

As Leon, Eli and Jace head on past the scary gothic castle course, Quinn comes up beside me and grabs my hand, twining our fingers together.

“Hey,” he says conspiratorially. “It’s pretty quiet here today, isn’t it? Not many people around.”

I quirk an eyebrow at him. “That’s true.”

We’ve only seen one or two other groups. When we pass the castle, Quinn tugs me toward the green, and steps onto it.

“You’re not supposed to walk on the courses,” I hiss at him, but he just laughs.

“Come on. I just want a little time alone with you.”

I think I understand. It’s fun to do something as a group, but I feel like I’m not getting any one-on-one with any of them. So I nod and follow along as Quinn crosses the green, still holding my hand. There’s a door on the other side of the castle that must be meant for staff. Quinn tries the knob, and it opens for him. With a wicked grin, he tugs me inside.

“Won’t the others miss us?” I glance around for his brothers, but they’ve all gone on.

“Maybe.” Quinn takes my other hand and gently pushes me toward the wall. Then he draws my arms up over my head so he’s caging me in. “But once they realize we’re gone, they’ll just wait up.”

I enjoy the mischief in Quinn’s voice, like he has a plan for me. He leans down, and I realize just how much taller he is, even in human form. His mouth stops just centimeters away from mine.

“I’m excited to kiss you like this,” he says. Then presses his lips to mine.

He’s a much less experienced kisser than his brothers but has plenty of enthusiasm to make up for it. He ravages my mouth as his hands trail down my sides to the hem of my skirt.

“Tiff?” he asks, hovering there. “Will you ride my cock inside the princess’s castle?”

My whole face flames. I’ve never had sex in public before, but I love what Quinn’s offering. A pick-me-up in the staff entrance? It already feels like it’s been too long, even though only a couple days have gone by since last time.

“Yes,” I say breathlessly. He flips up the skirt of my dress. “Won’t you transform, though?”

Quinn rapidly shakes his head. “I can keep it together. I think.”

I glance up at the ceiling, and hope if that happens, he won’t just burst through it.

His jeans go next until they’re in a puddle on the floor and his thick cock is sticking out straight toward me. Then he shoves me up against the wall, lifting one of my thighs to fully expose me. He’s panting, his eyes trained on where he’s lining up with my pussy. He dips the head inside of me, and his shoulders bunch up around his neck as he tests me a few times. I gasp at the slight stretch. Not nearly as much as when he was in werewolf form, but enough that I’m already hungry for more.

When Quinn plunges in deeper, he lets out a ragged moan. “Babe, you feel so good.”

That amazing cock of his pulls out, then slides in again, reaching even farther. I’m surprisingly wet for almost no prep, and he glides easily until his knot stops him. I cover my mouth as a whimper comes out of me, and I know I need to keep quiet.

“Too bad I can’t make you scream,” he says with a self-satisfied smirk, then pulls out again before burying himself inside me as far as he can. His knot pushes against my entrance, and he gasps before reeling his hips back. “Might not be able to get it inside you this time—” Quinn thrusts in again, and I bite my palm. “But soon I will.”

Keeping me pinned against the wall, he moves his body faster, slicking in and out of me in a punishing rhythm.

“Touch yourself,” Quinn growls, fur sprouting all over his skin. I nod hastily and reach down between us to rub my clit, and he grunts as I tighten up around him. “There we are. Come for me, and then I’m going to fill you up. Completely. So my smell is all over you.”

I moan as my orgasm creeps up on me, and Quinn fucks me harder and harder. Some of his knot starts to fit into me, and his face falls against my shoulder as he stuffs me full again.

“Tiff?” Eli’s voice calls. “Quinn?”

Footsteps get closer, and my heart leaps into my throat. Fuck.

Quinn smirks at me. “Afraid?” he asks quietly. “Of Eli seeing us?”

I am, but not because I’m ashamed. I just don’t know him well enough yet, and the thought of him seeing me naked, like this, with Quinn… Are either of us ready for that?

The door opens, and Quinn slams into me once more, unleashing everything. I can’t help it when my climax washes over me, and I cry out as light spills in.

“Oh.” I look up to find Eli standing there, silhouetted by the bright sun outside. His eyebrows are high, his dark eyes wide. He looks us up and down.

“Hi,” I manage out, as Quinn lowers me to the ground. His cock slides out of me, and cum slips down my thigh. I try to wipe it away with the hem of my skirt.

“Come in, Eli,” Quinn says. “Close the door.”

Obediently he does, but now his brow is furrowed.

“She’s nice and wet now,” says Quinn in that mischievous voice. “Tiff. You want Eli, too, don’t you?”

My mouth falls open at being put on the spot like this. I don’t know what to say. I barely know Eli, and we’ve never even kissed.

“You don’t have to answer,” says Eli, his lips pressing into a thin line. “Quinn, you know I need more time.”

Quinn frowns. “We had this whole nice date today, though, and?—”

“I’m not like you.” Eli shakes his head in irritation. Then he turns an apologetic look on me. “Sorry, Tiff. I think… I think I should go now.”

“What?” I push my dress back down. I don’t like how this is going. “You’re leaving?”

“I’m just not—” Eli cuts himself off, then turns away from us as Quinn pulls up his zipper. “Maybe we can talk another time, Tiff. It’s just more than I can handle right now.”

With that, he opens the staff door and leaves, letting it fall closed behind him. I want to go after him and tell him he should stay, that I want to spend more time with him, but he made it clear this situation has become too overwhelming.

I wonder if he understands me so well for a reason.

Quinn rubs the back of his head. “Well, that’s Eli for ya. Try not to worry, though. It’s not you—it’s him.” He takes my hand and kisses the back of it. “Thank you for the moment of your time.”

I want to enjoy the post-sex buzz, but as we step back out into the afternoon sun, all I can think is that I wish Eli would have stayed. I wanted to get to know him even better. I wanted to make him feel comfortable with me, and maybe even be his friend, if he’ll have me.

There’s so much to learn about him, but I think I fucked it all up.
