Chapter 2

CHAPTER TWO

WARRANT

"Yo, VP," Pike shouts, coming through the doors, the prospect right on his heels.

Twisting on my stool, one arm still around a club bitch, I look at my brother and road captain, seeing a woman in his arms. "What's going on?" I ask, taking in the slumped form of the woman and the fact she's got blonde hair. A part of me, the part that's long gone, shudders with the possibility, but I know it can't be her. She's been gone for years.

Pike looks to the prospect, who moves around him and orders, "Go get Butcher."

"Yes, sir," the prospect shouts, already running.

I focus on the woman in Pike's arms as he grows near.

"Fuck, VP," his voice seems to strain at those two words.

But my gaze is on the woman, blood and sweat coating her body. Even with all of that, there's no missing who she is. "Ryann."

I come off the stool, shove the club bitch away, and take my little sister in my arms.

"She just showed up at the gates asking for you," Pike explains, keeping up with me while I head for Butcher's med room. "Said we needed to warn Sabotage and Viking."

I know those names, but it couldn't be the same men. We've got an alliance with them, but there's no way my sister could know them. "Call Risk for me," I order as I step into Butcher's med room and lay Ryann on the bed.

"On it," Pike says, going past the room.

Thank fuck he didn't step in here.

Staring down at my little sister, my little Ry, a part of me feels weighted and, at the same time, relieved. She's alive. Breathing. Here. I take her in, seeing the difference in her.

"What's the deal here?" Butcher demands, coming into the room.

"It's Ryann." I slowly lift my head to meet not just my brother's but one of my best friend's gaze.

Butcher's step falters all of a split second before he stalks to the other side of the room and curses under his breath. "The hell happened to her?"

"Don't know, but I'm gonna fuckin' find out," I rasp, unable to hide the emotions I normally don't show. I'm not one for heart-to-hearts or giving women roses and sweet words. I keep it free and easy.

"Warrant," Risk says, coming into the room and closing the door, eyes locked on me. He's my other best friend, and we'd joined the club together the first chance we got. "Pike told me he brought Ryann . . ."

"It's her," I confirm and give my sister my attention once again.

"Fuckin' hell," Risk growls, coming to stand next to me. "Who the fuck did this to her?"

"Don't know, but she told Pike to tell me to call Sabotage and Viking." I don't know if they are same ones I know, but it can't be a coincidence she's saying those names. It could be someone else altogether. However, I don't believe in coincidences. "Do me a favor, will you, and just put a call in for me. If it's them, then they better have a damn good reason for knowing my sister."

"I'll call them," he says, taking a step back. "Until we know what's going on with her, though, I'm putting the club on lockdown. We don't need anyone coming up here that we don't know."

I couldn't agree more. There's shit going down with our club, and we don't need more problems added on top of what we're already dealing with.

"You gonna call your mom?" Butcher asks while using an antiseptic wipe on Ryann's face, cleaning the blood away.

"Not yet," I answer him. "She's going to lose her shit when she finds out Ryann's back, and I want to know what we're dealing with before I make that call.

After Ryann disappeared and our dad was killed, Mom struggled. She had a hard time coming to terms with losing both of them. It nearly broke her. Fuck, if it didn't gut me seeing the pain it caused her. All the same, she picked up the pieces to herself she could and moved on. In the past year, she's started going out with her friends again, even went on a few dates.

Calling her now would open wounds that she's only now finally got band-aids on. I can't rip those off without knowing what she's been through to lessen the blow she's taken.

"Butch, man, heads up, she's been in a car wreck. Someone ran her off the road," Risk snarls.

I whip around to see him still with the phone to his ear, listening. My anger flows through my veins as the knowledge becomes clearer. Those in the Toxic Warriors know my sister and didn't fuckin' tell us.

"Right, I suggest when you get here, you have one hell of an explanation," Risk growls, pulling the phone from his ear. "Viking and a few others from the Toxic Warriors MC are headed this way. Seems Ryann is Sabotage's ol' lady, and shit's happening right now that's totally fucked. Viking said he and his brothers will fill us in when they get here."

"She's Sabotage's ol' lady?" I grumble, not liking this one bit. She's nearly half his age. No way in fuck would my sister be with a man that much older.

"Sabotage," Ryann whimpers.

I glance back down at her, seeing she's still out and talking in her sleep.

"Help me. Please, Sab, don't let him hurt me."

Those few words are more than I can handle. Looking away from her, I start pacing the room, ready to slam my fist into someone, something, anything.

I don't know what's going on here, or what's happened to my sister, but fuck if I don't intend to find out.
