Epilogue

Donna

“So, tell me about you and Miguel.”

She gives me a look. “We talked before the wedding and agreed the only way to get through this was dancing together. It keeps the teams off our backs and stops them all from hitting on us. That’s all there is to tell, so get anything else right out of your head.”

Dallas laughs. “Smart move. The men were drooling and Miguel dancing with you kept them all away.”

Harper’s head bobs up and down. “They were coming at me as soon as Cassidy said I do. Fuckin’ dogs.”

I laugh, glad I’m not the one trying to figure out if any of them are worth it. I squeeze Dallas’s hand happy that he is.

May plops in a chair then Tabby does. “May said you know Parker. Is he a player too?” Tabby asks.

Harper laughs. I smile shaking my head no. “Anything but. He’s a workaholic that hasn’t met anyone interesting enough to pull him away from work.”

She smiles. All of them live for the job. Well, not Rafael and Cassidy, but the rest of them do. I watch Ford leave with an assistant DA and think they deserve each other. Both are players. Wheeler is dancing with Hobbs and everyone comments on it. He looks happy, so I don’t get it. She’s straight up military. I haven’t seen her relax until tonight. I’m glad she’s having fun.

I look at May. “What happened with you and Mingo? I saw you dancing earlier.”

She shrugs. “He’s danced with everyone.” She doesn’t look happy about that.

Grant pulls a chair up. “I’m getting married like this. What an awesome party. It’s more like a celebration than a wedding.” He’s not usually so vocal around me.

“That’s what a wedding is, a celebration of the two people getting married.” Harper rolls her eyes at him. She’s rude, but he smiles.

“This is the best one I’ve been to.” A flash has us all looking up. The guy catches everyone smiling. Cassidy will love her wedding pictures.

Rhett stands behind Grant looking right at May. “Dance with me, Nelson?”

She pops up smiling. “Yep.”

Grant looks at Tabby smiling. “You wanna dance?”

Dallas squeezes my hand. She nods her head looking shy and I smile. She likes him. The golden girls come into the tent loud drawing attention.

“What the fuck did they do now?” Harper stalks over to Miguel and Dallas is laughing. Whatever they did he’s pissed as he explains it to her.

“It’s like a circus, all the rings are running different shows. If you stay too long on one, you miss the rest.” He’s right.

I look around the room and see people pairing up, Rafael’s brother’s arms are waving in front of the golden girls, Agents and Cassidy’s friends from work are flirting and the obscene dancers are on the floor. I’m glad to see the twins dancing normally. Harper and Miguel join them surprising me.

I look at Dallas as he stands. “Let’s join the circus, my little dandelion.” Salsa music starts and he smiles as his feet start moving.

Why the hell not? I love the circus.

Thank you for reading Saber’s Vida, the first of our Providence Series. You’ll get to see more of Cassidy and Rafael in the coming books. I can’t wait to see who is next and what our ‘golden girls’ get up to.
