Chapter Forty-Six

Snow

W e pull up to the mansion, and I see my father's Porsche next to Carter's car in the driveway.

Clemon comes to a stop and before he kills the engine, I jump out of the car, remove one of the guns from my hostler, and head straight to the front door. I turn the knob and it's locked, so I glance around and see a busted window and crawl through it, trying not to cut myself on the shards of glass.

Glancing around, a trail of blood leads me to a hallway, then there isn't any sign of life. The mansion looks abandoned.

First things first, I need to find Lyrical and get her out of here. Then I'll handle my father. I'm going to put a bullet through his head. Damn the consequences of what's going to happen to me. I'll rot in jail before I'll allow him to do whatever the hell he wants to do with Lyrical. It'll destroy my mother, but I don't fucking care. My father and Carter need to die a slow death.

I hear someone walking behind me and I turn around, aiming my gun at Keanu, so I slowly lower it.

"Clemon and Jameson are checking upstairs. They will let us know if they find anyone."

"Let's search this floor, then we will search the basement. Kill anyone on sight."

He holds up his gun. "I love a good bloodbath."

We reach a hallway, where there are multiple doors on each side. I tell Keanu to check the ones on the left, while I take the ones on the right. I turn the knob on four doors, and the ones that are locked, I kick them down. All of them are empty bedrooms. When I turn the knob on the last door, it doesn't budge, so I slam my shoulder into the wood, trying to push whatever is blocking my way. Once I'm able to barge inside of the room, I step over a dead body. Lyrical tries to swing the lamp at me, but I block her.

"Blue, it's me. It's Snow."

Recognition shines in her blue eyes and she throws her arms around my neck, squeezing hard and sobbing like a newborn baby.

"I thought you were your father."

She falls to the floor, and I take in her bloody shirt as she passes out.

"Wake up, baby." I shake her but she doesn't budge. "Please, open up your eyes, Blue. Wake up. Stay with me! Don't you die on me. Please! I love you."

Fuck! I can't live without her. There isn't a world without my beautiful wife.

Terror burns in my chest and my hands shake like leaves as I scoop her up in my arms, head toward the door, then I make it to Clemon's car. Once I strap her inside, I get in and drive off. Thankfully, the ignition is push to start.

What if she doesn't make it?

I drive in full speed, bobbing and weaving through the highway. I slide my fingers through her cold fingers, kissing her palms.

My heart thumps in my chest, and I feel as if I'm having a heart attack.

"I'm sorry, Lyrical. For everything. I'm going to make it right. You're going to live. You're going to make it. I promise."

Once I pull up to the parking garage of the hospital, I scoop her in my arms to find she's drenched in blood. She's losing blood from the back of her legs.

I rush her to the front desk.

"She's been injured. Treat my wife, now. She needs help!"

A lady in blue scrubs comes up to me and says, "Follow me. We need to get her to the ICU."

Once we get to the floor, I lay Lyrical down on the bed, and a doctor and a few nurses rush inside the room and check her wounds.

"You need to leave so we can treat these wounds. She lost a lot of blood and she's in a state of shock."

I fill out some paperwork for the nurse in the meantime.

"Who are you?"

"Snow Williams. I'm her husband. Fix my wife."

"We will."

With rage swimming through my veins, I drive like a maniac back to the abandoned mansion. I need to find Revi and Carter.

I pull up to the driveway, get out, only to find dead bodies surrounding the property. My father must have called in people to help him take down Clemon, Keanu, and Jameson.

When I look around, my father's Porsche is gone, which means he's now left the premises.

My phone rings and it's Jameson, so I put it to my ear.

"Where are you? I found Bailey."

Did he just say what the fuck I think he said?

My heart thunders in my chest. "What are you talking about?"

"Come to the back. There are different girls here. Your father and Carter were running a sex ring. Some of these girls are dead and a few of them are injured."

I hit the End button and I see him carrying my sister in his arms.

Pure shock covers me as he places her in my arms, and I move her hair out of her face. They beat my sister to beyond recognition, she has bruises all over her body and she's so pale. If I could cry, I would. Seeing her face brings such relief to me. I kiss her forehead, bringing her to my chest as much as I can. She's weak, fragile, and if I squeeze her hard enough, she'll break.

"Bailey, my sweet baby sister. Why would my father hurt you? What have they done to you? You didn't deserve any of this."

Pure rage washes over me as I rush back to the car and place her in the front passenger seat, with Jameson hopping into the back seat.

"Have you found Carter?"

"Yes, I have him locked in the closet. I figured I'd take him to the basement so we can torture him for answers before you kill him. Your father left. Keanu tried to hunt him down, but it was too late."

As I put the car into gear, Clemon steps outside with a woman in his arms and three others behind him. I recognize two of the girls, they're from the night Lyrical had dinner with Carter.

Bile rises in my throat. This fucker is still trafficking women.

"Did you find Lyrical?"

I nod. "She's at the hospital, I drove her there. She's lost a lot of blood, but the doctor didn't tell me if she will be okay."

Once we get to the hospital, I take Bailey straight to the ER, and they take us to a room right next to Lyrical's. Relief hits me. I hope my sister makes it. They hook her up to an IV and the doctor checks every part of her body, then puts a breathing tube into her nose.

The doctor walks up to me, his hands on his hips. "She has broken ribs, lost a lot of blood, and is dehydrated and malnourished. Bailey also has an infection due to a fever."

"Can you save her?" I ask.

"We don't know. She has a lot of wounds on her body, and we don't know how bad the infection is." With that, he goes into her room and debriefs the nurses.

My father knew this entire time that my sister was alive. He watched my mother suffer and try to commit suicide as a result of my sister's fake dead. He blamed me for her death, knowing he had her locked up, beaten, and used by Carter.

Sick motherfucker. I'm going to skin him alive when Keanu finds him.

I punch the wall, pain shooting up to my wrist, all the way to the tips of my fingers.

The nurses stop to stare at me, and one woman has her hand on the panic button, I'm assuming to call security. I rub my eyes, exhausted as fuck.

I pace the floor as my hands shake like leaves.

Jameson places his hand on my shoulder, and I push it away. "May I say something? I know it's going to get me punched in the face."

I cock my eyebrow at him.

"Your sister."

"What about her?"

He doesn't say anything but rubs the back of his neck, then he finally says, "I'm in love with Bailey."

That catches me off guard. I suspected he had feelings for her in the past, but I'll never approve of him. I'm her brother, I get a say so in whether she takes part in an arranged marriage or not, and the answer is no. I don't want her to ever feel like she has to do that again. This time, I have a second chance of making everything right. To give her freedom. To give her what she wants.

"What are you saying? Because you love her, you think I'm going to hand her over to you for you to marry?"

"Yes, and you should. I'll protect her and take care of her, get her the help she needs. She should have been engaged to me. I'll protect her. If your father had taken my father's offer, then I could have kept her safe."

I push him. "Stay the fuck away from my sister, Jameson. I mean it. I know what you're into. I know what you like, and she's already been broken. I don't need someone else trying to break her as well."

He shoves me. "You can't keep me away from her."

"I'm going to ignore your last statement to save our friendship, but if you go anywhere near Bailey, I'll slit your throat and watch the life leave your eyes."

I walk to Lyrical's room, pulling up a chair next to her bed. The sounds of the machines beep and I place my palm in her cold hand, squeezing tight, but she doesn't squeeze back.
