Chapter 7
Rory's blood was humming. Just being on the plane alone with Zee and Maura had him ready to jump both of them. It wasn't like him at all. He might not practice BDSM with Zee, but he could always control himself for the most part. Sure, he didn't have a problem with getting down and dirty in places they shouldn't—like the office. But he could control those urges if he needed to. Now he seemed unable to keep his mind on anything else. It was hard not to think about Maura, about what kind of sub she would make.
He wasn't a Dom who liked a pushover. He didn't know many Doms or Dominatrixes who liked a sub who didn't present a challenge.
"I can hear those little wheels turning in your head," Zee said without looking up from his computer.
"What?"
"She didn't say anything. So, it's a no go."
"No, saying nothing does not mean no. It means she hasn't decided. Or maybe she wants to wait until we get there."
With an aggravated sigh, Zee leaned back. "Will you stop talking about it? Bloody hell."
The outburst surprised and delighted Rory. Zee held onto his emotions too tightly. If this is what Maura did for him, it was a welcome change for the two of them.
Rory smiled. "Sorry, love, but I can't stop thinking about it."
"Well, neither can I. You aren't making it any better."
Rory jumped up from his seat. "Maybe we should check on her. She's been asleep for awhile."
Zee rolled his eyes. "Stop."
He knew that tone. Zee's temper was getting the best of him. It had nothing to do with anger though. No, that had to do with his frustration…and with Maura. He knew Zee wanted it as bad as Rory did. That was a very good sign.
"It won't hurt to ask."
Zee shook his head. "Leave her alone. Didn't you see how tired she was? She was barely making it across the tarmac. She's been under a lot of stress."
"And what is better stress relief than sex?" he asked.
He meant it as a joke but even Rory heard the dark need in his voice. Zee gave him a dismissive glance, then looked back to his work.
"You need to give her space. She's not like you. Maura is more like me."
He frowned. "What the fuck does that mean?"
Zee tapped a few more keys, then looked up at him. It was easy for Rory to see the irritation in his lover's eyes. It was a rare day when one of them hid their emotions any more. "She doesn't rush into anything. Maura has always thought things through. If she hasn't decided to spend the week as ours, then you have to give her the space to decide. If you crowd her into a corner, there is a good chance she'll shut the whole fucking thing down. It's the way she responds to things like that."
He grunted while Zee went back to work. For a few moments, he watched him work. Zee had always intrigued him, even before he had known either of them were bisexuals. Even after all these years, the need to have Zee in his life overwhelmed everything else he wanted. It only took him ten years to really get his shit together, but once he realized it, Rory didn't want to wait any longer. He had been lucky that Zee had welcomed him back. There would be consequences if he fucked it up this time. Rory was pretty sure Zee would never speak to him again if he did.
He glanced toward the door to the back of the airplane again. He couldn't remember ever wanting a woman this much. He had been attracted to others. There was something so…soft about women. He liked the way they felt, the way they smelled, and God, he loved to watch a sub when she finally gave into him. But…there was an edge this time. The lust was on level with what he felt for Zee when they first got together. It was odd, but Rory figured it was because Zee wanted her and he wanted to be the one who gave her to him.
"I tell you what. I'll peek in on her, make sure she doesn't need anything."
Before Zee could stop him, Rory opened the door. He knew better than wait for Zee. He moved like an old man. Coming from a man who was a Dom, that meant a lot. Rory knew how to control his emotions and his needs, but Zee had his own issues. He overthought everything, and it was one of their main problems.
He heard Zee following him, but Rory ignored him. The door opened silently and Rory found her snuggled beneath the covers. She looked so…contented. There was a quality to her that he couldn't seem to figure out. The woman was sexy, but there was something that seemed so…untouched. Zee didn't kiss and tell, but if she kept Zee occupied—and still had him interested—she liked to let loose in bed. God, she was so fucking irresistible.
She sighed in her sleep and he felt a little tap in his chest. It was like something had pulled on his heart. Zee was right. Looking at her face it was easy to see the dark smudges beneath her eyes. He was going to back away and let her sleep, but she shifted in her sleep and then her eyelashes fluttered, then her eyes opened. God, she was gorgeous. Her hair was a mess, her face flush
Her lips curved. Something tightened in his test.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey, yourself."
She blinked. He didn't blame her. Desire threaded over one of his syllables.
She cleared her throat. "How long have I been asleep?"
He stepped further into the room, shutting the door behind him. "About two and a half hours."
Her eyes widened. "Really? I haven't taken a nap that long in forever."
Rory smiled. She looked so sweet and innocent sitting there in her oversized shirt. He wanted to do nothing more than to crawl up into the bed and hold her.
What the bloody hell was he thinking? Of course there was something he wanted. Still there was part of him who wanted nothing more than to feel her body next to his…and Zee's.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" her voice had dipped lower.
He shrugged. The hum in his blood was now a full-bodied opera. He slipped his hands in the back pockets because his fingers itched to touch all that soft, soft skin. And taste. Tasting would be fanfuckingtastic.
"Can't seem to help it. Although, I'm not sure just how I am staring at you."
"Hmm."
"Listen, we don't have that much time before Zee comes beating on the door. He told me to leave you alone, but I think it is best just to get it out of the way."
She licked her lips and he groaned.
Her eyes widened. "What?"
"You're just driving me crazy, here."
Then, silence.
"Well, are you going to answer me?"
"I had decided to say no."
The door opened before she could finish her thought. Zee smacked Rory in the back with it.
"Bloody hell, Zee," he said, his back stinging from the blow.
"Grow a set, Rory."
Rory looked from Zee to Maura. The heat in the air went from simmering to boiling hot. Damn, he had never felt that kind of reaction from Zee for a woman before. No wonder he was so hung up on her. There was something between them. He knew part of him should be worried, and it was, but fuck it was so sexy to see Zee fall for a woman.
"So, we both want an answer. Zee doesn't want to admit it, but he's more than a little interested."
Zee shot him a dirty look.
"I-I was going to say no," she repeated.
For some reason, that had his heart sinking when she said it again. He had thought that maybe she had changed her mind by the tone in her voice. But now she sounded more resolute. He glanced at Zee who wasn't looking at him. He was looking at Maura.
"But?" Zee asked.
She licked her lips again.
"I'm not sure why I was going to say no."
Rory wanted to scream but he didn't. He held it all in as she looked from one to the other.
"I think we're pressuring her too much," Zee said.
"No, you aren't. I'm going through all the reasons I had for not accepting the invitation. I had a really long list."
"Of course you did," Zee said, his voice low and soothing that made Rory want to ring his neck. Now was not the time to go soft.
She sighed. "Now they really don't seem that important."
"Yeah?" Rory asked, his lips curving and his heartbeat sped up.
"I'm just a little nervous."
"About?" Zee asked.
She snorted and rolled her eyes. "I have two Alpha males, one of them who wants to make me submit, standing in a very small space, and you are wondering why I'm nervous?"
"How about this? How about we just do a little play? No heavy stuff. Then, we can decide," Rory said.
"I've played before. Not with Zee, but with others." She glanced at Zeke. "Sorry."
"I knew."
She sighed and picked at the blanket. "I worked with a Dom. I had to know if I was right about what I wanted in the bedroom."
"So, you know how it goes, but it's different with us," Rory said.
She looked at him. "Yes, and I don't want it to be weird when we get back."
"Again, let's just play, then you can decide from there. If not, we will have a fabulous time in Hawaii, then go home."
He started to pull the blanket off her and her eyes widened. "What are you doing?"
Zee chuckled. "Rory isn't going to wait another seven hours before we land now that you said you would play."
"But…the pilots."
Zeke smiled as he rose from the bed. He flipped the lock.
"That takes care of that."
She sighed again and the sound of it sent a wave of heat through his blood. Rory caught a whiff of her scent and his cock twitched. Dammit to hell, she smelled like cinnamon. She always smelled like that, almost every day. It made him think of dessert, and that had him thinking of whipped cream, which led to all kinds of naughty thoughts.
"I just…"
"What, love?" Rory asked as he nuzzled her neck, drinking in more of that cinnamon scent. He nibbled at the tender flesh just behind her ear. She moaned.
"Maura," Zee said as he joined them on the bed. He kissed her as Rory continued on to her ear.
"Guys," she said holding up her free hand in protest.
They pulled back and waited. Rory's gut tightened as they waited. Maura studied them and he could tell nothing from her expression. Her cheeks were flushed but her mouth was unsmiling.
Rory could feel Zee's anticipation shimmering in the air and it urged Rory's need to new heights.
She looked from one of them to the other then a small, slow smile curved her lips. His breath tangled in his throat as she held out her hands.
"Okay."
