Chapter 46

FORTY-SIX

Three months later . . .

O ur industry is still in anarchy after what Fallon did. Some record labels haven't been able to recover, while others are scrambling to slip into their empty spots and force bands who once might have sunk to swim.

One thing is very clear though—nothing will ever be the same after that fateful day, and Fallon loves it. She loves the fear and respect she demands now. She was so worried about how people would treat her, that they would look down on her for what she survived, but if anything, they love her that much more. Her fans have taken over the world, demanding justice in her name and pushing her to new heights.

Oh, and Hall Movies? Well, their CEO, Mr. Perrier, swiftly stepped down with an apology, but everyone knows they won't be able to recover from their bad image unless something drastic is done. I heard a rumor they brought in a wild card in his spot, an ex-actress with a mean streak, but I guess only time will tell.

Evelyn Mitchel's funeral was a huge affair, the outpouring of love like nothing I have ever seen. My girl spoke on that day of her strength and passion, and even from beyond the grave, her name and legacy will live on, helping those who need it.

As for us?

I've healed up nicely, and I have the signed paper in my back pocket to prove it, with all three hundred doctors' signatures on it. She might have been joking when she told me she wanted all the doctors to sign off on me, but I made it happen. She should know I don't joke when it comes to her. It wasn't easy either because some of them were in different countries on vacation, but Elijah helped make it happen. I patiently wait for her to finish in the recording studio. I'll give it to her tonight, along with my other surprise. For now, we have music to make.

She rushes in, handing coffees out to everyone in the booth before blowing me a kiss as she heads inside, settling in with her headphones on. My girl smiles more, and I love it. She seems so much freer since everything came out.

It's as if those ghosts that haunted her no longer have power. I know it's not the truth, since she will always bear the pain and scars of what she endured and she has nightmares every now and then, but they are far less frequent, and I'm proud of how hard she's fighting for her future.

We haven't given many interviews since everything happened, only one or two to keep the bloodhounds at bay, otherwise we have been busy healing and making music. Oh, and Fallon decided to start a foundation for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, mainly catering to those affected by the fallout of what they have dubbed "Electric Downfall." She's poured her heart into it and is helping so many people, giving them safety and security for the first time maybe ever, as well as opportunities within this industry if they want them.

They called her the ice queen, but staring at her now, I wonder how they ever could. She is nothing but a flowing river, filled with life and vibrancy.

She has that raw kind of beauty that makes others sit up taller and try harder, and when she starts to sing, all of that flows into her music, bringing people to tears .

Even me.

I made the king fall then I walked away.

Heartless, that's what they call me.

Well maybe I am, but the organ is yours.

All yours, my beautiful blue boy . . .

I can't help but grin as she sings our love song, her eyes on me.

Yes, Fallon is a legend, but it turns out, so am I for capturing the elusive ice queen and making her love me. Little do they know, it was my plan all along.

Now, I only have one more thing to do—make her mine forever.
