Chapter 8
CHAPTER 8
ANDREW
"We should be hitting our destination today." Dean sipped black coffee while we sat in the corner booth of the truck stop cafe where we'd stopped for breakfast. "I appreciate your patience the last few days while I dropped by the other warehouses to check on the staff."
"You're the one who is letting me tag along on the trip to Florida." I swallowed my last bite of eggs and pushed my plate to the table's edge. "Besides, it was fun seeing how your business worked and helping out where I could. Made me feel useful."
"I know the guys were grateful to have an extra pair of hands unloading the trucks and checking inventory." Dean's lips tilted up, deepening his laugh lines.
"I've enjoyed getting to know you." I felt silly admitting it, but I thought he should know. "I can't believe we only have one more night together."
"Hmm." Dean nodded and reached for my hand. "Maybe I'll just keep you with me. You can help me whip the guys at the warehouses into shape."
My heart warmed, thinking he might be serious. But I was afraid to believe in it just yet.
"I should call Meghan today and tell her I'm almost at her house."
Dean let go of my hand and picked up his coffee, but I had already seen his frown. "Sure. You can call her while I'm filling up with gas."
Fuck. Did I mess this up?
Pulling out my phone, I sent a quick text to Meghan, happy to receive a reply soon after. Apparently, I would get to have a little more time with Dean after all. Dean opened the driver's side door and climbed in.
"Meghan is away with her boyfriend for the weekend, but she should be home tomorrow." I slid my phone back into my pocket as Dean started the engine.
"We can get a hotel close by tonight and wait until she gets home." Dean turned to me and removed his sunglasses. "Listen, I need to be truthful about something."
"Okay?" A sick knot twisted my stomach.
"I meant it earlier in the diner."
"You did?"
"I did. I don't know if I'm ready to let you go."
"I'm not sure I'm ready for you to let me go." I grabbed his hand and kissed his knuckles. "But we just met, and I have nothing to my name. How can I be in a relationship?"
"You are everything you need to be. Everything else we can figure out as we go."
DEAN
"There's only one bed again." Andrew entered the hotel room and closed the door.
"Did you want me to get two queens?" I turned around to face him and pulled him close to my body. "I thought we were past that."
"No. I love that I get to share the bed with you." Andrew lowered his head and looked up at me through his lashes. "I was just afraid I fucked up earlier in the truck."
"I thought we already worked that out." I brushed a stray piece of hair out of his eyes. "I told you I understand you're scared of how fast this is happening and don't know what comes next for us. I am not ready to let you go though. Does that mean I spend more time in Florida? Maybe. We'll figure it out. I need you to trust me and trust what we could be."
"I'll try."
"You'll try?"
"Okay, Daddy." Andrew held his head up and looked me directly in the eye. "I will trust us."
"Thank you."
I leaned down and captured Andrew's mouth. Kissing him had become one of my favorite things in the world, with his always-present cherry-vanilla lip balm and fresh, minty breath.
"Wanna play?" I nipped his lip and savored the desperate whimper that escaped his parted lips.
"Yes, Daddy."
"On your knees."
With a tiny nod and a one-sided quirk of his lips, my boy dropped to his knees and waited for my next command.
"Open your mouth, precious boy. Be Daddy's perfect little cock warmer." Andrew opened his mouth to my hardness. I moaned at the moist heat. "If you feel uncomfortable, just tap my leg."
Andrew nodded gently.
What a fucking good boy.
"Now I am going to make a call, and I want you to keep me nice and warm, okay? But do not suck." I tapped his cheek gently to emphasize the demand. "If you disobey Daddy's orders and make me come while I'm taking care of this call, I may just have to keep edging you all night and never let you come."
Satisfied when I saw a slight nod indicating he understood the command, I pulled out my phone and dialed my brother Nick, who co-owned our business.
"It's been a couple of days since I heard from you, man." Nick huffed, and I heard a loud thud in the background. "I was starting to worry."
"No need for that. I was helping out at a few of the warehouses." I stroked Andrew's hair as I spoke with my brother. "How are things going at the warehouse in California?"
"Pretty good. I had to let one of the men go because he showed up still drunk from the night before." Nick signed. He hated having to fire our employees. "According to the manager here, it wasn't the first time, so I had to take action."
"You did what had to be done."
"So, how's the trip coming along? Any issues?"
"No issues. But I do have a boy along for the ride now."
"A new boy?" Nick knew what I meant by the word boy, but it had been a long time since I spoke about one. "I haven't seen you playing with anyone for a very long time, little brother. Are you sure you are ready to dive back into the scene?"
"No." I honestly couldn't imagine going entirely into that mode again, joining a club, living the lifestyle 24/7. But occasionally fulfilling my need to take care? I could do that. To occasionally play games where we would lay out the rules, and he'd follow my demands because it satisfies an itch for us both? Definitely. "But I think I'm ready for whatever this is."
"As long as you are sure. I will trust your judgment. Just be careful."
"I will." I looked down at Andrew and saw his large brown eyes staring at me. I might not be able to be as careful as my brother meant. He was the type who would never fall in love. Being mindful to him meant not letting anyone close. In those terms, it was too late for me. "I got to go. I'll call you later this week."
Disconnecting the phone, I threw it on the chair beside me and smiled at Andrew. "My sweet boy, you did so good. Now you get a reward."
