Epilogue Two - Kiera

The life of an angel is usually an unsettled one, involving frequent travel and service to others, but Rhys and I built a life together. A safehouse became a home for us where we could plan our missions together, help the people who needed it, and track down the last of the fae who remained on Earth.

Kelibon wasn't among them, but many were entangled with his criminal enterprises. I knew we had our work cut out for us in dealing with them, and helping the innocent. It was just the challenge Rhys needed, and it would create a safer world for our daughter.

Yes, our daughter. Lily was perfect and she was ours, born in Dublin three and a half years after I'd returned to the mortal world. She quickly became the centre of our lives. If you think Rhys was protective of me, he was ten times more protective of a young angel with strawberry blonde hair who had him wrapped around her little finger. Corvy, our white cat, followed her around everywhere.

I cannot give Rhys back his grace, but I'm not sure he would want it. We have an incredible life here, and we're building a better world for our daughter and each other, not to mention humanity. Sometimes that means doing things the angels of heaven would frown on, to say the least, but it's part and parcel of creating a better and safer world for all of us.

Rhys and I have found our happily ever after, and then some. Not everyone is a hero, but that doesn't mean they can't do the right thing. Rhys shows me that every day, and he's brought out a side of me that I never knew existed. Not just the angel who knows how to fight and make love, but the mummy angel too.

Sometimes you have to figure things out for yourself and let people show you who they are. Only then can you find your own truth and go from there. I've discovered that's also how you find true love.
