Blood drips down the right side of my face, a throbbing pain from where Lupus punched me, his gloves cutting my flesh. Glaring at the man defiantly, I silently focus on removing the wolfsbane from my system, feeling the last of it almost gone thankfully. Escape will be soon. “It’s been a week and you still dare to defy me?!” He screams in anger. I want to chuckle but know that doing so will lead me to being stabbed with the knife held firmly in his hand. I can smell the wolfsbane on the blade, knowing full well one slice will cause my progress to go back, and I will be trapped here another week. “I will never bow down to you, Lupus!” I yell, my head turning to the right as his fist collides with my jaw seconds after my statement. I growl, turning to face the man before me with immense hatred, wanting nothing than to destroy him right then and there. “How about I take you right now and fuck you hard. You’ll soon learn who you belong to after I fill you with my cum.” He jeers, his free hand grasping my neck roughly as he leans closer to my body. But there is a flaw to this plan, and we both know it. “You’d end up killing me just as you try to as I am already mated.” I state, a smirk on my face. He can’t touch me without me being unmated. “You’re right, Geminie. I guess I will have to kill Mika, then.” A dark chuckle follows Lupus’ retort. I keep glaring at the man before me, even as he pushes me back onto the bed and look over my body with a lust-filled gaze before leaving me in my cell. He has no idea that Ariven is my mate now, and I refuse to allow him that knowledge. As long as my mark remains on my neck, I am safe from Lupus. I sigh with relief once alone, wiping away the blood from my forehead and moving to the center of the bed and sitting in the lotus position. I need to finish burning the wolfsbane from my body by tomorrow if I want to escape. I focus hard, making sure to keep one ear open in case a servant of Lupus walks in, as the amount of wolfsbane given to me should have kept me weak for a month, but seeing as no one reported to Lupus that I have powers and can shift gives me the upper hand on him as no one has dosed me a second time with the poison. Come tomorrow with my escape, I will find a way to fight Lupus and have his head severed from his body. A noise from the direction of the door catches my attention, and I quickly flop back onto the bed, pretending to be in a deep sleep caused by the wolfsbane weakening me. Seconds later, the door opens and the scent of two she-wolves fill the room. “Are you sure she is the next Moon Goddess?” A quiet voice asks. “Yes. Do you think she will help us if we help her?” Comes her companion’s answer, with another question of her own following. “She can shift, I’ve seen it. So, if there is anyone who can free us from the King, it’s her.” I sigh and sit up, seeing how these two are harmless now knowing their intent in coming to me. “Help me escape tomorrow, and I will help you.” I state, watching the two jump in fright while turning to face me. I smile friendly at the she-wolves, seeing a look of awe in their eyes. They rush to tell me their story of how their father sold them to Lupus to repay a debt, that for the last five years they have been nothing but his playthings, unable to get free and find their true soulmates. I sympathize this them, explaining how Lupus raped me as a child, and the three of us form a plan. “Just a quick question.” I call out before the girls, Mira and Abigail, leave. “What is it?” Mira asks, her skinny body looking relaxed after our talk. “Where are we hiding right now?” I see a look of understanding pass between the sisters before Abigail turns to me and sighs, a look of guilt on her face. “To be honest, we are at the base under the pink lake in Hidden Claws territory. Lupus has many tunnels leading to many bases under Canada. A tunnel is being built towards the palace as we speak, but the rocky terrain and mountains are making it difficult. We have no idea what his plans are, though.” She answers and I nod in understanding. This information in valuable, something we can use to destroy this man once and for all. I thank the girls as they leave, them promising to come to me before sunrise tomorrow, giving me plenty of time to finish removing the wolfsbane from my system.
