Chapter Twenty-Seven
Valor
WITH SAVANNAH AND our girls busy with work and school, I've walked out of the common room to call Vault. I don't want to move forward with Conrad without his blessing. I'm also not going to allow him to leave the hospital to come here and deal with this when his son was born last night. Moving forward with this shit needs to come from him even though Slim is acting as the President of all of us right now. Vault asked him to step up so Chrome could be with him. He needs his best friend because he's not going to pull me away from Savannah and the girls after she was just kidnapped and spent time in the hospital. Especially with her being pregnant. After talking to my brother and him telling me to deal with the fuckers so we can get them out of the fucking clubhouse, I told Savannah what was going on before we all left to go down to the basement. Killer and Stryker have moved them into one cell so it's easier to question them.
Walking down into the basement, I'm followed by everyone except Court, Dime, Stryker, Wood, and Boy Scout. Those guys will remain up with the ol' ladies and kids. We don't believe anyone is going to come here looking for Conrad and his father, but we're not about to take any chances until they're away from our clubhouse and with the authorities. Yes, I feel it's safe for the girls to go back to school since the actual threat is gone. Not only have Conrad and his father been found, but the three men who bought my daughters have also been detained and are spilling their guts about everything with the amount of evidence Fox and Kingston found on them. From what Fox found out, it didn't take them long at all to crack while being questioned and they're giving everything up. I smile because it means they're giving Conrad and his father up.
Killer stands outside the door of the cell the pussies are in and I don't bother removing my cut or anything because we're not gonna get our hands dirty this time. Yeah, I plan on getting my hits in, but we're not gonna torture these fuckers. Fox has cameras and everything set up and already recording so every word they say will be used against them when his FBI friend comes to take them from us.
"Ready for this?" Killer asks me as we enter the cell together.
"Been fuckin' ready. My girls deserve peace and knowin' they don't have to look over their shoulders for someone to kidnap them," I state, glaring at Conrad as he looks at me with wide eyes. "Conrad, been waitin' to get my hands on you. You touched my wife and thought you were gonna fuckin' break her. I'm happy to say that she slept like a fuckin' baby last night knowin' you lost and she won. That you were chained to the chair in here and couldn't get to her. How does that make your bitch ass feel?"
"You can't do a fucking thing to us. There's no proof of anything and we'll be out of here before you can do a damn thing," Conrad says, trying to make himself believe his words despite the fear filling his eyes.
"Really? You've been here for over twenty-four hours now and no one has bothered to show up for you. No police that you've paid off have shown up to rescue you and most of the men you've had workin' for you have already been detained. There's an FBI agent waitin' for one call and they'll be here to get your pathetic ass," I inform him and make sure he can see the truth of my words as I lean closer to him before turning my attention to his father.
Conrad's father is an old fucking man and not someone I'd believe to lead a trafficking ring. It's always those you least expect that are the most vile humans you'll meet. At least in my experience. His gray hair is a mess instead of being styled as normal from the pictures we were shown of him. The dark blue suit he's wearing has tears and rips all over and grime covers the white shirt that's missing buttons exposing parts of his chest and stomach. Bruises are already forming on his face as he glares up at me.
"You've got a real bitch instead of the son you thought you were gettin'. My wife escaped from him in minutes from the time she woke up. Also made him believe she was still passed out when she listened to his entire conversation on the phone with you I'm guessin'. He couldn't get four females to give to the buyers and failed at every fuckin' turn. You might be the so-called leader of this traffickin' ring, but you didn't choose wisely when it comes to those workin' for you. I'd have beat the fuck out of Conrad if he fucked up somethin' so bad. Got anythin' to say?" I ask Governor Riley as he continues to glare at me with his pale face that's filled with wrinkles and now showing his age instead of the man he portrays himself to be in the media.
"My son is right. We'll be out of jail before you can blink. We will get our hands on the merchandise and there's nothing you can do to stop us," Governor Riley states as if he has a clue what's going on around him.
"Yeah, that's not gonna happen. See, we don't just have you three. Right now, every man has been detained and I'm sure they're spillin' their guts about your little operation. We've also found several of the buyers and they've been detained. If they're still alive that is. And you haven't been able to see the news stories already goin' on. Let's see if we can change that shit," I say, looking to Fox as he turns his laptop around to show a news story about the Governor being the leader of a trafficking ring with his son helping him.
I keep my eyes on Conrad and his father. They're faces lose every drop of color as the reporter states that they've been located and how all of their assets have been frozen. Conrad's mother has been arrested since she knew what was going on and never once reported them. A clip plays of agents going through their homes and taking everything from them.
"You can't do this! I'll have you all arrested!" Governor Riley breaks, shouting as he struggles against the chains keeping him in the metal chair beneath him.
"We can do this and have. See, our computer guy here has found all of your dirty little secrets. They've been forwarded to the FBI and they've also taken control of every piece of technology they've found in your home, office, and everythin' else. Your wife is currently spewin' her guts about your operation and there's nothin' you can do to stop her this time. Every fuckin' one of you are goin' down and will be behind bars for the rest of your miserable lives. As my wife told your son, he's gonna become someone's bitch and I have a feelin' you are too. Neither one of you are winnin' this fuckin' game. And I'll tell you right now, no one's gonna like you in prison. You won't have the backin' of your money or anythin' else to protect you from everyone you serve with," I promise Governor Riley and love watching his face drain once again from any color filling his normally tan skin.
"You can't do this shit! That's my money that I've earned through blood, sweat, and tears. You don't have any right to touch what belongs to me," Governor Riley yells out, his voice filled with rage and disbelief.
"We can do this shit to you, Governor. And we have. What you need to realize is that no one is gonna save you this time. You've been compromised and you're excellent record keepin' has gotten every single one of your contacts caught. I mean, I get it. If I were you, I'd want to keep records on everyone I've dealt with over the years so they can't come after me if a deal ever goes wrong. However, it's also what led us to ensure everyone was captured and this ring has been dismantled once and for all. You're done preyin' on the weak and vulnerable. I won't allow you to come after those like my daughters and wife. The only thing you need to know is that you're gonna fuckin' pay for every single crime you've ever committed and we got your sheet from before you were Conrad's age," I tell him, nodding to Fox as he presses a few buttons on his laptop and shows everything we have on the fuckers in front of us as I turn my attention to the third pussy in the cell.
"Since these two bitches got you into this shit, do you have anythin' to say?" I ask him, walking up and taking the wallet that Killer hands me.
Opening the wallet I find this fucker is John Krandle. He's a middle aged man who lives here in Pine View. Flipping through his wallet more, I find that he doesn't have any credit cards, one debit card from his bank, and a picture. There's a woman cuddled up to John's side with three kids sitting in front of them. Every single person in this picture has a smile on their face and I believe at one time they were truly happy. That John was a good person who would never work with someone like the governor and Conrad.
"So, you've got a family. Let me guess, Conrad met up with you somewhere and discovered what you could do. He blackmailed you into helpin' them or he'd take your kids and wife before sellin' them off to the highest bidder where you'd never see them again. Does that about wrap up how you came to be in the middle of this shitstorm?" I ask John as he looks at me with pain and fear filling his eyes.
"That's almost exactly what happened. Conrad found out I had lost everything by gambling. Including the house my wife grew up in and we were raising our kids in. He promised to pay off my debt to the dealer and my bookie if I helped him with some security issues. I didn't know they were involving innocent people who weren't willing to go with him. Conrad made it sound like these people were his family and they were being held captive by you and this club," John informs me as I look over at Conrad with a glare as he smirks before opening his fucking mouth.
"Shut the fuck up, John. You don't get paid to fucking talk. Especially to someone like this who is manipulating you," Conrad shouts, his voice breaking from the lack of water and how hot we've kept the cells they've been in.
"You haven't paid me at all. And you sure as fuck haven't paid off my debt like you promised you would. I've done all this shit for free. If anyone has been manipulating me, it's you and your father. Well, I've got nothing left to lose. My wife found out what's going on and took the kids. I have no problem serving time for the crimes I've committed and turning you both in to ensure you can't ever hurt anyone else again. You've robbed me of everything I ever loved in this world and I'm going to enjoy watching these men do the same to you both. See, I've also been doing my homework and have files on everyone within your organization. If you bring me a laptop and release my hands, I'll make sure it's all sent to you so there's more information being used to put these sick fucks away," John tells us, making me smile as I nod to Killer who releases his hands and Fox brings over a separate laptop that doesn't have anything to do with the one he's been working on.
With a few keystrokes, John has several files pulled up and he quickly transfers them over to an email Fox gives him. Fox double checks everything on his laptop before looking at us with the largest smile on his face.
"John, you've done a great job. We've got financials, a few accounts we didn't find, more contacts we didn't know about, and so much other shit. I'm sure we can ensure you get a lighter sentence because you did gather all of this intel even if you weren't originally planning on usin' it to turn these sick fucks in to the authorities. He's kept his word," Fox says, letting us know that John has told the truth while also knowing what he'll be able to make happen with his FBI contact better than the rest of us.
"What the fuck game are you all playing here?" the governor shouts, anger filling his voice as he looks around the room at us all. "You think this is fucking funny or some kind of joke? It's not."
I don't hold back as I reach out and slam my fist in the governor's jaw so hard his head slams to the side and he groans in pain.
"We know it's not some kind of fuckin' game or joke. You're goin' down for the vile crimes you've helped be committed over the years along with everythin' you've done yourself. You think you're above the law and nothin' will ever be able to stop you. Well, you can't buy off our club or anyone we associate with. You won't have anyone to save the day either. See, my brother here is now forwardin' the list of every fuckin' dirty cop you have on your payroll to the FBI so they'll be pulled from duty and arrested as well," I inform Conrad and his father as anger fills their features and they start struggling against the chains holding them in the chairs while I laugh in their faces.
I take a few punches at Conrad and his father to get some of the pent-up anger and rage out. The last thing I want is to go back to my girls feeling this much rage still when I can easily work some of it out on the scumbags in front of me. So, I land a few hits on both pussies in front of me, leaving John alone because he's the only one in this room doing the right thing.
"Valor, my contact is here. It's time for us to unload these pussies to the proper authorities so they can get the case underway. It seems there's been an investigation into you for longer than I realized. My contact is very happy to finally be pickin' both of you up," Fox states, looking at his phone and smiling up at me with pure excitement filling his face.
"Okay. I'm done wastin' my time with these stupid fucks anyway. See, my wife and daughters are upstairs and I'm gonna go spend the rest of my days makin' sure they forget all about your dumbasses. My wife will deliver our children in seven months and our family will grow. You will have nothin' and no one at your side because of the choices you made in life," I state before turning and walking away from Conrad, his father, and John.
On my way upstairs, I head for the hallway where the offices are. I need to talk to Buzz and apologize for my accusations against him that day in church. Everyone has been leery to be around him and talk because of me and I hate that shit. So, I'm going to man the fuck up and apologize to him like I should've directly after the altercation took place. Knocking on his door, I wait for him to call out for me to enter before opening the door and stepping in his room to close the door behind me.
"Valor, did you need somethin'?" he questions me, his voice formal and letting me know he's not happy with me.
"Yeah, I did. I want to apologize for accusin' you of helpin' Conrad and his father. I have no excuse for goin' off on you like that. So, I'm sorry, Buzz," I tell him, not sure of what else to say to him after the colossal fuck-up I made when it comes to him.
"I get it, Valor. Tempers were runnin' high from everyone. It wasn't just you. Yeah, I'm not gonna say that it didn't piss me the fuck off, because it did. I would never betray you or anyone else in this club. Especially when it's about a woman and kids. This club fuckin' saved me when I was ready to call it quits. I've never once gone against a single order or betrayed anyone even thinkin' about joinin' the Phantom Bastards. Then to have people not talkin' to me or around me fuckin' gutted me. Honestly, I was ready to turn in my cut and leave if that's how everyone felt. So, I appreciate you comin' in here and apologizin' to me," Buzz says, making me feel like shit more than I did before coming in here. But, I don't blame him because I made all this happen.
"I'm glad you didn't turn in your cut, Buzz. That's not what I wanted at all. I will make sure everyone knows that you've done nothin' wrong and that they also need to step up and apologize to you for how they made you feel. We were all wrong and I will do what I can to make it up to you. You need somethin' let me know and I'll help in any way possible," I tell him, pulling him out of his chair when he extends a hand for me to shake and taking him into a man hug, slapping him on the back before releasing him.
"Okay. I'm gonna get back to work siftin' through all this shit we just got from John. Do you think the FBI will go easy on him?" Buzz asks me as he takes his seat again and I think about the answer.
"I honestly don't know. I'm not sure how much pull Fox actually has with them or what they're willin' to do since he gave up a ton of information we didn't already have. You three have been bustin' you asses and dug up a ton of dirt on them, but he filled in the missin' pieces," I tell him honestly before leaving him alone to continue working on this information so we aren't surprised when the trial comes up and my wife has to testify.
Leaving Buzz alone, I go in search of my family. The girls are in the common room with Court, Shy, and Playboy. They're all working on their schoolwork with Court overseeing them. Savannah is nowhere to be found as Shy sees me and points down the hall I just came from. Heading for her office, I let myself in to find her in the wheelchair in front of her desk putting the numbers into the programs she has on her computer. I'm so glad I'm not the one dealing with this shit any longer. My wife enjoys it and she loses herself when she's working. I'm not gonna stop her from working. At least until it's time to go see our nephew, Annabell, and my brother. Then, I'll have to force her to stop and get ready to leave with me. I've gotta figure out how to get her a bath or shower too. I'll have to call Doc and see if she can even get her feet wet yet. That's the one question I forgot to ask when we were in the hospital. Something to add to the growing list of things I need to get taken care of now that we no longer have to worry about Conrad showing up and taking my girls from me.
