CHAPTER 24

REAPER

We've had a busy week organising shit for what was about to go down. Liam had come through with fourteen guys he trusted that would wear our cuts and ride our bikes from the Manor to the pub, making it look like we had been at the pub the whole time. They would be collected at the end of the night or catch a taxi, whichever was easiest.

While I wasn't keen on them being in the pub unprotected, other than Dog, Abby, Noni, Avy, and Maggie had said it would seem strange that none of the women was there for anyone catching a glimpse into the VIP room.

For the most part, Avy would be behind the bar, and Liam had come through with three bouncers. So far, they seemed to be working out.

Currently, we were all lying in wait, watching the labs we had set to blow with explosives last night. We were watching to ensure there wouldn't be civilians there. We only wanted to hit the ACES, not anyone else.

Checking my watch, I saw it was 21:00 hrs and was now fully dark.

Grabbing my phone out of my pocket, I sent a message to the rest that I would blow mine at 21:10, and then they were to blow theirs at ten-minute intervals giving us time to move out to the next site. We had gone out in pairs. I had Cairo with me. We would hit as many sites as we could tonight. We were hoping for total chaos once the first lab went up.

My watch flashed 21:10, and I nodded to Cairo to press the button. We watched as the entire warehouse blew up. Quickly we crawled out of the ditch we had hidden in and raced to our vehicle. Jumping in, we took off for the next site.

Like clockwork, we saw another yellow ball light up the sky ten minutes later.

"Yesss, take that, you fuckers," Cairo whooped next to me. Making me laugh. It felt good to be doing something other than watching for a change.

We made it to the next site, and that's how our night went. Once we had blown all twenty sites we'd been watching, we drove back to the pub, taking turns cleaning our faces of camouflage and changing into clean clothes.

Parking at the back near the bikes, we each slipped silently into the VIP section of the pub, and Liam's crew, other than Liam, slipped out into the main part of the pub to join the rest of the punters with no one the wiser.

Looking around for Abby, I noticed she wasn't in the VIP room.

Grabbing Noni's arm, "Where's Abby?" I asked.

She patted my hand, smiling, "Relax, Reaper, she's behind the bar with Avy. They needed extra help, and Abby volunteered."

I nodded in relief before heading out to check on her. I watched as she helped Avy serve until there was a lull in customers. Sneaking up behind her, I wrapped my arms tight around her and pressed a kiss to her neck, making her shiver.

"You'd best be careful. My man is the jealous type," she said, tilting her head against my shoulder and grinned up at me.

"Is that right? I don't blame him, babe. If you were mine, I'd be hanging onto you tight." I pressed another kiss to her lips, wishing we were anywhere but there.

"Everything okay?" Avy questioned, coming over.

"Yeah," I replied. "How much longer until the last call?"

"Only another ten minutes, the band is winding down. It's been a good night, not many hassles. Liam's guys are good at what they do."

"That's great news, one less thing for us to worry about. I'm still going to be sending one of the prospects with you for the evening shift. I don't want you leaving here by yourself," I told her. My sister's sensible, so I wasn't surprised when she nodded agreeably.

"Whatever you want, Reaper, I'm not going to complain about having extra hands to help. Let me just get the bell for the last call, and we can start clearing up. There have been lots of blues and twos going past the last couple of hours. I want to get home and check the news."

She gave me a little smirk before grabbing the handle on the old bell we had hanging behind the bar and ringing the shit out of it, shouting last call.

Abby and I laughed at the stampede that hit the bar. I let my woman go so that she could help Avy. I noticed that the entire MC was out and mingling, ensuring that our faces were seen. Dog and Maggie were taking a turn around the dance floor to the last song of the evening.

Bull grabbed Noni and pulled her onto the floor with him. She was smiling as he twirled her around. Hard to believe a man that size could move so smoothly.

The prospects were going around collecting glasses without having to be told. So far, they had been a good fit. I knew Skinny would be as he was Bull's younger brother.

Draco, Rogue, Dragon, Onyx, and I chatted with the locals that knew us. Then, if the police came calling, we would have a solid alibi. Not that we expected any pushback from this, we'd been careful.

Navy and Cairo jumped behind the bar and pushed Avy towards Hawk and Abby my way. We joined the others on the dance floor as the band played another song.

It had been a good night, although I couldn't wait to get my woman back to the manor.

An hour later and the pub was closed for the night. A couple of Liam's guys drove our vehicles back to the manor, where their guys would pick them up.

The rest of us started our bikes, and as I pulled out of the Corvus Pub parking lot, my woman wrapped tight around me, my brothers falling in around us. I couldn't help but think that ‘Life was good.'

The End
