Sarra

I wanted to tell Reaper about my dreams but knew it would make me sound like a lunatic, so I didn't say anything. I knew this thing we had was temporary, and I just wanted to tell him I loved him. I must be crazy. He's so frigging hot that he probably had women falling at his feet.

I remember the first time he came to me in my dream. I had been locked in the shed for two days and couldn't stay awake any longer. Reaper shouted for me to wake up because a snake was in there.

I opened my eyes, and a snake was slithering over my shoe. I grabbed it by its head and stuffed it through the hole in the shed. After that, he was always there for me when I needed him. Most of the time, it was when I was in danger, but most of the time he was just with me.

I didn't fall in love with him immediately. He told me everything about his life, and I fell in love with him when I turned seventeen.

I knew Mam was unstable, and she kept saying horrible things to me. She would disappear for weeks at a time. I didn't know if she was dead or not, and sometimes I didn't care.

I told him about Mam, and he said he would stay with me. Then he kissed me, and that's when I fell in love.

I didn't understand why or how I had those dreams, and I was shocked to see him walk into my real life. I knew my heart would be broken when he had to leave me because he had a life somewhere else, so I decided not to think about it anymore.

"This feels so wonderful," I said, standing under the waterfall. The warm spring water was so lovely on my tender skin after having sex for hours. Reaper still slept; I didn't wake him as I snuck out of bed.

I thought I heard Helen's voice, and Bub started growling, so I grabbed a towel. Bub's hair stood up. "Bub, stop," I said before he attacked someone.

I heard Reaper call my name. I ran inside as the door opened, and a man stood there, as big and handsome as Reaper. I knew by looking at him that they were related. I held onto Bub, who was still growling.

He looked at me and smiled. "I see you're enjoying the warm spring water," he said.

"Spartan, what are you doing here?" Reaper asked, standing in front of me.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I decided we needed a break from the RV, so we came here last night. This is Sarra Allen."

"Sarra, this is my brother Spartan; that's his Delta Force name. His real name is Liam Bellmont."

I reached around Reaper to shake Spartan's hand. "Nice to meet you, Spartan. I'll get dressed," I said, running to our room. I dressed in shorts and a T-shirt. This was Arizona, and I knew it would get hot soon.

I could hear them talking. Spartan wasn't happy with Reaper. I knew it had something to do with us sleeping together. They stopped arguing when I entered the room. Spartan was making coffee.

"Spartan, I'm twenty-seven and old enough to know what I want. You don't get to blame Reaper for what I wanted," I explained, getting the cups down.

"Okay, I won't say another word," Spartan agreed.

"Why are you here?" Reaper asked.

"I didn't know anyone was here. I just finished a job. Benni is meeting me here for a romantic getaway for a few days. She'll be here any time now."

"That works out perfectly. We are on our way to California; we'll leave tomorrow morning," Reaper said.

"Tell me how things are going?"

"We have so much to tell you. Maverick is Sarra's cousin, and he'll be joining us. And Sarra has a pen name because she's a writer."

"Maverick, it's been a long time since I've seen him," Spartan said, looking at me. "What's your pen name?"

I smiled because Reaper told me how much Spartan loves my books. "Jackson Martin."

"What? You're Jackson Martin, the thriller writer? I love your books. I can't believe Jackson Martin is a girl."

"That's why I have a pen name," I replied.

"And she's going to murder Merv," Reaper said.

"Good, he needs to be murdered. How are you going to kill him?"

"I don't know yet."

"It would be best if you had a vehicle squash him or something where he can't come back to life. Speaking of coming back to life, has Viper heard anything about Amanda Lundry?"

"No, I'm going to call him later today." That's when Reaper's phone rang. "Hi Shane, what's up?"

"Brian's dead. He was trying to kill a woman, but she stabbed him eighteen times. I went and looked at the body to make sure it was him. So Sarra doesn't need to worry about him anymore. Now we just have to make sure Amanda Lundry is dead."

"If she isn't, then I'm going to kill her myself. I'll tell Sarra about Brian. I'll talk to you later," Reaper said.

Reaper walked over to me and smiled. "Brian is dead. You don't have to worry about that bastard ever again. Shane went and looked at the body. It was him."

"Good, I hate being happy about someone dying, but he's a murderer, so I am glad," I said, then had a painful thought. "Does that mean you are no longer my protector?"

"No, we don't know about Amanda yet," Reaper said, walking closer and holding my face in his hands. "I will always be your protector. But hopefully, she is dead, too."

We heard someone at the front door. Spartan opened it. "Hey, sweetheart."

"Spartan, I can't believe we are alone. Let's get naked in the waterfall."

Reaper cleared his throat, and she jumped back and turned toward us. "Hello, Benni. Don't worry; Sarra and I will leave tomorrow."

She walked over and kissed Reaper. "You don't have to rush off."

"We were going anyway. This is Sarra Allen."

"It's nice meeting you, Sarra."

"It's nice meeting you too, Benni," I said, ready to leave, knowing these two planned a romantic getaway.

"We're trading in the RV for an SUV early in the morning, so we won't ruin your romantic getaway," I said, smiling.

"I'm not worried about that," Benni said. "Have you tried the falls?"

"Yes, I loved it. We're going to try out the pool after breakfast."
