N either my brain nor my body had managed to come back online since Taran ‘I-bought-a-cafe-so-you-could-keep-your-job’ Atax had kissed me and let me use his hard cock to give myself one of the best orgasms of my life.

I had woken up the next morning fully clothed in my bed, lying there in peace until the memories of the night before had flooded my mind .

He beckoned to the valet to back away, then pulled back out into the road and drove off.

“What are you doing? You almost ran over the valet!”

“I can’t go in there and be sociable without knowing whether or not you hate me now.” Indicating left, he steered the grey Helix into a car park and found a spot for it on the far end of a row.

“Why would I hate you?” I asked as soon as he’d turned off the engine.

“Because I sprung this kiss on you. I don’t know what got into me. I tried to be a gentleman and I messed up. I—”

“Taran!” I interrupted him, barely managing to suppress a giggle. “Please stop. You didn’t spring anything on me, you didn’t mess up, and I promise I don’t hate you.” I half turned in my seat. “No, wait, let me rephrase it so your brain won’t pick and choose what it hears. I loved the kiss, and what happened at the end of our movie night. You did amazing because now I know that you were actually flirting with me all this time and I wasn’t just imagining things. I really, really like kissing you,” I added quietly. Thank fuck it was dark in the car, my cheeks were glowing.

He made a desperate half sigh, half groan, inhaling sharply and clutching at his chest.

“What’s wrong? Scales, are you okay?”

“I wish I wasn’t a gentleman, and that I didn’t care for your hair and make-up, because right now I want nothing more than to ruin it.”

He leaned in and gently cupped my hot cheek, his scaly thumb trailing over my bottom lip. “I can’t wait to do that later, though. Are you ready to go in with me and woo some more people?”

“More?” I gasped. That man took my breath away so completely that I felt light-headed.

“Like you did me.” He chuckled softly. “You are so vibrant, Maeve, so alive. Your energy was the main reason why I returned time after time. When we go in there, you will light up the room. People will flock around you like pigeons around the hand that feeds them. And I will stand guard and thank the Moon Goddess that I get to be the man by your side.” Taran took my hand in his and pressed a soft kiss on my fingertips.

“You have to stop this,” I whispered, hoping he heard the faint note of amusement in my voice.

“What?” His breath brushed over my skin.

“Saying things that make me want to kiss you. ”

“Touche.” Another low chuckle rumbled in his chest. Confident Taran was a beautiful creature.

Damn it, if I woo him, then he sure as hell does the same thing to me.

“Come on.” We both got out of the car, and he plucked my shawl out of my hands to drape it around my shoulders before lacing our fingers.

“Let’s get the official part over with, so you can eat something,” he told me as we approached the entrance. “And then, maybe, I can eat you ,” Taran added under his breath, squeezing my hand gently.

I spluttered but before I could reply the valet bowed us inside and immediately people gathered around us.
