Macie
T he next morning, I wake to the sound of my phone vibrating causing me to reach for it with one eye open. Jax has already left for practice with Sully.
The blinding light stings my sleepy eyes finding a text from Jax, a smile curls.
He probably found my note. Last night, I woke up in our bed after falling asleep in his lap outside, knowing he put me here. I couldn't go back to sleep, so I left him a note to find this morning as he was getting dressed for practice.
I open the text and sure enough...
Anaconda?
I snort a laugh; yup, he found my note; I knew Jax was a little nervous, so I wanted to make him laugh and tease him a little. So, I found his hockey bag and wrote on his jockstrap.
"Keep my Anaconda well protected."
Yeah, don't you love it.
You have the whole team talking about this now.
That's alright, flaunt it baby. Just make sure they all know; you know how to wrangle that snake just right too.
Killing me girl.
Have a good practice.
Thanks Angel
I send him back a wink kiss emoji and lay my phone on the bed beside me as I carry on my giggle before I get my ass up and get dressed.
Making my way downstairs to start some sort of a routine, those tall ceilings calling to me and the urge to hang from my silks, getting lost in my acrobatic tricks, consumes me.
Getting to the kitchen, I find ingredients to make a good fruity smoothie, thinking this is really fucking cool how set up this was for the guys. Made things easy for them to focus right on hockey instead of worrying about getting themselves settled in with all the moving crap.
I grab my laptop and sit at the kitchen bar and check my emails, praying there's an email about a job, but no such luck. I skim through and see if I can find any teaching jobs for young skaters, it's something. I find one and I apply to it, and hope I at least get that.
I clean up my mess from my smoothie making, finding the little in-home gym we have, I start working out. Burning some energy from my mind and body, not really knowing what else to do. I want to explore the town, but not today.
I got lost in my work out, the time passed by quickly, but the guys are still gone, and that damn ceiling keeps taunting me. I go out to the garage and the ladder that hangs on the wall shines bright, almost calling to me, "Oh, fuck it" the words snap from my mouth and I grab the ladder, pull it away from the wall, half dragging it behind me with how long it is before I set it up in the living room.
Picking my spot, I run up and grab my silks that I had brought, in hopes I would find a place to hang them, or if I needed them for a job. I go back out to the garage, and I shit you not, there's power drills, oh I'm in luck. This is fucking great.
I grab the drill, make sure I have power and enough of it, getting the correct bit for my silk hangers, I make my way back to the living room, picking the right place, and I go to work.
Climbing the ladder with drill in hand and bracket that needs to be drilled into the ceiling, getting to the top I stand on the very top of the ladder and I can barely reach the ceiling, causing me to get up on my tip toes; Good thing I'm comfortable being in the air with very little holding me up.
I giggle to that as I look down, and boy, I am up here.
Finding the stud in the ceiling, I start to make the holes that I need before I start screwing the bracket to the wall, most defiantly needing an extra hand while I drill, but I manage and I get the bracket I need into the wall.
"What the fuck did I tell you!?" My lips roll between my teeth, biting my smile, hearing Jax growl, knowing I've been caught and I'm in trouble.
"Get the fuck down before you fall, Jesus, Macie." He's pissed.
I rock back on my heels, still standing at the very top of the ladder and I look down at him.
"Hey, look at that, for once I'm taller than you." I giggle, and I swear I see steam coming from his ears with his growl, "Get down."
I shake my head, "Make me."
Sully barks a laugh with his words, "Macie, you're asking for it, get the fuck down."
Jax shakes the ladder, causing me to lose my footing, knocking me off the ladder and I begin to fall, before he catches me, "That's all it would have taken for you to fall and bust your ass."
"I'm done, I just have to hang my silks now, the bracket's in."
He lifts a brow, "Are you ever going to let me help you?"
"One day." I say with a shrug of my shoulder.
"No, it's starting today" He sets me down, "Give them to me."
I hand him my silks, knowing he's fucking pissed, watching his jaw tick, but oh well, I don't tend to rely on people, I guess I need to get used to it, no, not going to happen.
I watch him climb the ladder and begin to hang my silks, "Jax, you have to loop it through that ring."
He does what I tell him to; that's important for me to have tied right, or I will eat the floor; So I watch him closely.
Sully
I can practically see the steam rolling off Jax's shoulders; He is fucking pissed Macie didn't listen; I think the shits funny.
Macie is the monster that her father, Jack created.
Jack treated Macie like a Princess, and she can be a brat.
She's sassy as fuck, acts like she is ten foot tall sometimes, and knows how to bat those eyes to get what she wants, but Jack also taught Macie how to fight for what she wanted too. Clearly, he taught her how to use power tools, damn girl.
I can't say I don't find that hot as fuck.
I might be a little more used to her ways, having a sister the same way, and when they were together, you learn how to ignore their shit; Oh, Jaxie boy will get there; This should be an interesting night out.
Macie
Jax climbs back down and looks over, "You need to go get ready; we have dinner to go to."
"Oh, I didn't know I was going."
"Of course you're going, why wouldn't you?"
I lift my shoulders in a shrug. My eyes dart to my silks now hung and my fingers start twitching, wanting to play for a minute.
Jax takes the ladder down before taking it back out to the garage, Sully's in the kitchen, and I can't help it; My hand wraps around my silks and I give it a good tug down towards the floor, checking to make sure it's going to hold.
One more check, jumping up, the silks taking my weight and there is no budge, so, my legs split as I walk my hands up the silks, before my legs close.
Wrapping the silk around my thigh and ankle, in a particular order so it will hold my weight, I wrap my foot with the silk, using it as a balancer to hold me up as my hands let go of the silk.
With my leg wrapped in my silk holding all my weight, I lay back against the air, stretching my body, as the smile comes to my face.
Changing to another trick, "Angel" Jax suspiciously growls.
I keep going with my trick as I ask with my slightly panted word, "Yes?"
"I can't be late. "
"Okay, I'm coming."
"Are you now?" He jokes.
I laugh causing me to almost slip, but I catch myself, and just get myself down before I do fall, "Funny." I bite.
"Hey, you're the one that makes it all sexy and shit."
I snort, "Alright, I'll go get ready."
I walk past him as he holds his hard playful gaze on me, before his flattened hand comes across my ass causing me to jump forward and squeeze my cheeks tight with my squeal, "Fuck Jax."
I rub my ass, because fuck that stung and he laughs before he leans down from behind, whispering against my ear, "I guess you should stop being so damn naughty and be a good girl."
I slam my ass back into his bulge, lifting my ass up, giving the pressure I want against his balls, "No thanks." And I walk away from him hearing his growl echo from the walls, I look over my shoulder back at him, "Well, are you coming or what?"
He shakes his head, "No."
I shrug, "Fine, I'll take care of myself."
"You wouldn't."
"Oh, I would" I run up the stairs hearing him chuckle below before I hear him coming up the stairs running "We don't have time for this Angel, you're going to get me into trouble before I even get started."
I look back over my shoulder before I turn, stepping into the bathroom backwards, "If I'm correct, you already knew this pussy was going to get you in trouble."
His hand reaches out, grabbing me by the throat, before he backs me against the wall, leaning down as his lips crash against mine.
His grip on my throat tightens as he lifts my chin, dragging my bottom lip between his teeth, leaving a sting as he pulls away, "You don't know what you are doing to me right now, but we really don't have time for this."
I smile, trying to hide my laugh, my words whisper out, "Fine, but after dinner."
He growls his words, "I'm going to devour that sweet pussy for dessert, and then fuck you so hard; you won't be doing any tricks tomorrow."
I bite my lip, rolling it between my teeth.
"You have twenty minutes." His hand slides from my throat and he pulls himself away from me, holding his gaze on me, dropping it down my body, before meeting my eyes again, hearing his growl rumble in his throat, before he turns and leaves the bathroom, and a snort of a laugh comes out of me.
That's right big boy, I'm fucking around and finding out how dark your desires are, I know mine. They were created by my dancing, and my dirty romance books.
Plus, he started it.
I take my shower, and I do rush, quick flip of my hair running the dryer over it, pamper the face, before I go decide what to wear.
I know Jax is mad about me hanging my silks, but I haven't depended on anyone since my dad died, well besides little stuff with Dakota. I need time to get used to that. And I have hung my silks a million times.
I flip through my dresses I hung yesterday, grabbing the right one, a sleeveless black dress, that shines with a diamond sparkle, hangs low in the front of course revealing the ladies. Grabbing my matching heels, always a must, I'm too fucking short without them, and next to Jax who is seven feet tall, I look like a pea next to him.
Sitting on the bench to slide my feet into my heels, Jax comes into my vision, and I look up as I tie the leather around my ankle, "Well don't you look sophisticated."
He chuckles holding his gaze on me as I stand, adjusting my dress.
"You look beautiful, Angel."
"Thank you" I get up on my tip toes and plant a kiss to his cheek, before I fall back on my heel, "Don't worry, good girl switch is on."
He laughs his words, "Thank God."
I giggle my smile.
"Are you ready?" He asks and I nod.
We make our way downstairs, picking up Sully on our way out the door and we get into the truck.
I only went to a few of their after-game dinners before, but I always stayed out of this part, and this is different. This is a dinner welcoming them to the team, I'm a little nervous.
I ask the guys how their practice was today, and they tell me all about it. They both seem pumped, different too. I guess I can say, focused. I listen to them talk, and I enjoy it.
We get to the restaurant the dinner is being held and I get out of the truck and the nerves hit me harder. Damn, why am I so nervous.
Jax steps in front of me and I look up at him with my smile.
"You alright?"
I nod my answer, "Yes, I'm fine."
He slides his hand over my hip to the dip in my back, pulling me into him, as he leans down and kisses my cheek before he pulls away and we walk through the parking lot.
"Macie, how the fuck do you walk in those things?" I look over my shoulder, back at Sully, then look at my heels.
"Practice and lots of it."
"Why? "
"Because I'm so damn short, I'm still short next to you guys in my heels."
"You're like a little mouse." Sully teases, before they both laugh and I join; I'm used to the shorty jokes being made.
When we get into the restaurant, we are taken to the section where we are to meet the team, and when we walk in, I don't know why but I feel like I shrink back with the number of eyes on me. I avoid meeting anyone's gaze, I always do.
Jax's fingers curl into my hip, almost possessively as two men walk up to us. One older, and one eyeing me up like I'm his next meal; Jesus here we go.
"This must be Macie?" The older one says as he looks at me and I can't help my brow from lifting in question before I snap back and be a good girl with me smile.
"Macie, this is Coach Josh, and Wes, the Captain." Jax introduces us.
"Nice to meet you both." I greet them both with a smile, even though I am being looked at like eye candy.
They talk, and I stay attached to Jax's side, and I can't keep the smile from my lips, listening to the guys, and how easy they have already fallen into the team.
The evening is filled with good food, drinks, laughs, and I easily relax feeling the same vibe from the guys at home, but not the exact same, that will never feel the same.
A nice band is playing, people have gathered and started dancing.
I feel special in a way, I'm not just here as the little sister. I'm here on Jax's arm, as his girl, and that word love, the word that scares me the most, in this moment all I feel is love.
As the dinner comes to an end, I see Wes and Jax talking and as they do, Jax stares at me, curling that sinful cocky smile. Knowing, something is about to happen. I know that fucking look .
I stand from my chair and make my way to him, that tether between us tight, holding my gaze on him, he makes a point to drop his gaze then scan his eyes on their way back up, before I step in front of him as his arm curls around me, pulling me into him.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I whisper before he leans down and returns his whispering words, "Can't I admire what's mine." He kisses my cheek before he stands to his full height.
"Why don't you talk some sense into your brother and get him out here with you guys?" Wes asks causing me to look up to him, I'm always looking up, damn it.
"I won't push him, if he doesn't want to play, he doesn't want to play. Or maybe it's he just doesn't want to play on your team."
"Oh, you are a sassy one." Wes barks holding that steaming gaze on me.
I shoot him a wink with my smile, "Grew up around guys like you, I can handle my own."
Looking up to Jax he shakes his head with his laugh, I ask, "Dance with me?"
He nods, and excuses us, before he leads me to the dance floor, spinning me into him, his hand slides to my lower back, and I wrap my arm around the nape of his neck.
We fall into the music, our eyes communicating something our voices can't, but I feel everything as he looks down at me. I've been such a tease, and bad, but he still looks at me like I am his everything, like I am an angel; I still don't know why he calls me Angel, I'm fixin' to find out though.
His hand slides from my hip before he spins me, pulling me back in, with my even bigger smile.
"You seem to get along with Wes good."
He nods his words, "Yeah, there's a reason they asked me to join the team."
"Why?"
"Wes is leaving, he wants me to take his position."
"Really, that's great Jax."
"Yeah, it is." His hand slides up my side, feeling the heat radiate from his touch, the smell of his spicy cologne warming my insides.
My hand slides from the nape of his neck to his jaw as I stare up into those green eyes, and I feel like I could melt to the floor.
"What do you say we take this home and you give me a show?" He whispers with that smile that pulls at my heart and I whisper my words, "I say, that's a great idea, I'll make it extra special too."
