34. The Brunette One
Eleven books in two years feels like it sounds…a lot. At the same time, writing with my Blondie makes it all seem effortless and fun. No words can describe the love and respect I hold for my partner in fictional crime. Don't get me wrong, we put in a lot of work in each and every page we write but writing together makes the process less lonely and colossal.
One thing's for sure, finishing up Psycho Love was a whole dang process because the possibilities were endless but as soon as we stopped and really listened to our character voices, we realized our ending was clear from the start.
I know, I know…
That ending was the epitome of frustrating but I feel like you know us by now and we like to feed you our words like they're chocolate covered candy with a healthy dose of addiction so we can keep you coming back to us.
Luckily for you, in September you'll get your HEA and we promise to make you sigh with contentment. But remember, you can't bask in the pleasure if you've never experienced pain and you can't survive the pain without remembering the satisfaction of pure pleasure.
Like Blondie pointed out, these books aren't just written, they're ripped apart and put back together by an entire team of well-meaning, keen-eyed, honest, and motivated book people.
David, who never misses a teaching moment.
Hilary, who catches our plot holes like a jedi master.
Sarah Jones, whose keen eyes and mind smoothes out all of our kinks (living for that pun!)
Mercedes who made sure our NC policing was accurate without once laughing at our complete lack of knowledge.
Sam O'Neill…what the heck would we do without you? Lie in a puddle of our tears, that's what.
But you all?
You all are the reason we even exist and write in the first place.
Thank you, from the deepest, darkest, pits of our souls for taking a chance on us, for supporting us, for making us feel like a part of your book lives.
Thank you for picking up our books, for reading them, for reviewing them and hopefully…
For loving them.
