CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

With Alec, Tailor, and Rory on the ground speaking to the D.A. and Billy, they were able to nail down almost a thousand of the potential former convicts who were involved in the riot scheme.

"How do we get them off the street?" asked Billy. "It won't be easy. They think they own the cops, and vice versa."

"We need the cops all in one room," said Rory.

"You know we can't do that," said the D.A. "They're either on patrol or off-duty. If we call them all in, that will send alarm bells throughout the city."

"How do I get them all on one call or message?" asked Rory. The D.A. looked at Billy and his uncle.

"We could send an emergency text for them to be on a secure line," said Billy. "We're going to get some of the rotten ones, but at least they'll hear about what's happening and make a decision for themselves."

"Any way we can keep Charlie off of it?" asked Alec.

"I can remove those that I know for sure are his inner circle," said Billy. "The rest, we'll just have to see."

"We want to be on camera," said Tailor. "All of us. They need to see that we mean business, and although there's only the three of us here, they'll understand what waits for them if they continue."

"You're risking your lives for this," said the D.A.

"So are you. If this were to succeed, it could be devastating for the entire country, hell, the world!" said Rory. "We won't allow that to happen. We have to get this message to them and find his stash of goods."

"Security at Hartsfield says he landed about an hour ago. He'll think everything is fine, so let's find his stash," said Billy. "I'll send a preliminary message out that the call is mandatory. Life and death."

"Make it good, Billy boy. Make it good," said Tailor. Billy just smiled at the man, shaking his head.

"Sir, I damn sure don't want you mad at me. I'll make it as good as I can."

"Hey, Billy? Include the fire department," said Tailor.

"Fire? We don't think they're involved, sir."

"No. But I was a firefighter. Cops and firefighters fight side by side. They respect one another. If they're not in on this, we'll see backlash immediately. Peer pressure is a beautiful thing sometimes."

"Yes, sir."

***All personnel for Atlanta PD and Fire – All personnel for Atlanta PD and Fire – at 0500 a mandatory call will occur on channel 21 – Code 33 this channel – all communication on this channel will cease. Once again, this is a mandatory call for all Atlanta PD and Fire – no exceptions***

"Well, we'll see how that goes," said the D.A. "We've got a couple of leads on the warehouses that we think belong to Gates. Let's head out."

Since two of the warehouses were near the airport, the Gray Wolf team took those. Both warehouses had complex alarm and security systems. Calling the team back home, they gave them video access and walked through the disarming of the systems. The padlocks were easy. Child's play, really.

The first warehouse contained thousands of dollars in watches, jewelry, electronics, furs, and other luxury items.

"I thought he was selling this shit at the end of every month," said Rory.

"Take pictures. We're going to use this to show how he's lied to them."

The men took photo after photo of the massive space. At the back of the warehouse, there was a false wall which pushed to the side. Behind it were more than two dozen cars. Cadillacs, Mercedes, Audis, Lamborghinis, Land Rovers. All just sitting there collecting dust.

"Charlie was really planning on ruling the world," frowned Tailor.

"Come on, we'll let the D.A. team take all of this. Let's head to the other one and see what we find," said Alec.

At the opposite end of a private runway at Hartsfield was a smaller warehouse with the same alarm system. When they opened the doors, they nearly choked. Kilos of drugs, illegal weapons, homemade weapons, bombs, and cash. More cash than they'd ever seen in their lives.

"He wasn't stashing this shit in banks. He was just locking it up for himself," said Rory. "This dude has some serious issues."

"Photos," said Alec. "Lots and lots of photos. If the crowd doesn't kill him tomorrow, the department will."

"We've found two more warehouses with the same," said Billy. "We're heading over there to empty them. If, for some reason, he comes to these tomorrow, he's going to be surprised. I doubt he will. He's cocky enough to think everything is just fine, and he'll plan to head to his rally."

"Poor bastard. He's going to have a rude awakening," said Rory.

"Hey!" yelled Tailor from the back of the warehouse. "Hey, come look at this."

Everyone moved toward the big man standing next to a massive storage rack. There were plastic storage bins filled with objects. He pulled one down.

"What is this?" asked Alec.

"It's case files," said Tailor. "I think he stole case files from every man on his team to keep them under his thumb. Look, this one is for that guy Carey Evers. It was a case involving a jewelry store robbery. Millions in diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and watches were missing. Except this little bag."

Tailor pulled out three Rolexes, a few diamond rings, pearl necklace and earrings, and a few other objects.

"He was setting them all up," said Billy. "What a bastard!"

"He is that. Get photos of it all," said Tailor. "We're going to put on quite the presentation in the morning. Everyone, make sure to put their makeup on. We wanna look professional."

"Makeup?" frowned Billy. Tailor laughed, slapping his back.

"Just kiddin', Billy boy, just kiddin'."
