Epilogue

Epilogue

T hat forever turned into the best decision of my life. Gone are the days of living like an ice princess in a cold city with its concrete walls and asphalt roads.

Coming back to Hartwood brought life into the void of blackness that had become my life. Now that I understand fate is real and that people can fall out of love I understand my mother's actions. It doesn't make me forgive her for hurting my father the way she did, but I can at least understand her.

As for Trevor…

Thick arms came around me and I leaned my head back on a supporting shoulder. I felt him the moment he stepped onto lodge property so when his warm lips pressed a warm kiss to my shoulder I sigh.

"How are they behaving today?"

He cradles my growing baby bump and I laugh warmly. We've fallen into a wonderful routine of him coming to the lodge for lunch as I helped Mrs. Morgan clean up. I offered a hand on odd days I am not with my wedding clients and today is one of those days. It helped me keep my mind off the fact that I'll be welcoming two boys into the world in less than a month.

"The twins are playing soccer with my bladder."

Trevor takes my hand and leads me from the kitchen. "I have a surprise for you. Let's go home."

My husband, my SEAL, my Trevor. The words ran through my head over and over filling me with joy and gratitude the whole ride home.

He led me upstairs and covered my eyes before ushering me into the room we've yet to prepare as the nursery.

I hear the hinges of the door creak open and then suddenly my every dream was now a reality. Our meadow is now mural on the nursery wall. It's filled with wildflowers and beams of sunlight. Tall trees line the edges and in the center are two figures. Us.

A fairytale. My very own fairytale and I will get to see it every day.

"When did you paint this?"

"While you were working down at the lodge and then pulling together the wedding for the California couple last week.

Wow. I didn't realize I had been so distracted.

I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed my hero. "You are the perfect man for me. Always have been and always will be. I want you to know that."

"I do," he offers huskily. I do. Now get ready because the whole town is about to show up for a surprise baby shower Mrs. Morgan planned and they all want to see your new nursery."

My heart filled with joy and so much happiness I couldn't measure it if I tried.

Last year at this time I had a cold apartment and a sassy cat as company. Now I have a huge town-sized family.

The SEAL got his second chance, but then again so did I.
