Chapter 43
Jay hadn’t felt this good about a day in a long while. Nichole sat astride his body, her breasts swaying as she rode his cock. He was about to lose it watching her. She’d admitted that she liked this position, and he agreed that she was made for this.
When she leaned back, his cock felt like she was squeezing it harder. He gasped, and her gaze met his, revealing a sexy twinkle in her eyes that set him off.
His balls pulled up tight, so he reached for her, grazing his fingers over her clit. Her breath hitched, and she pitched forward, her breasts grazing against his chest.
It was time to get serious. He flipped her over and pounded into her until she arched up off the bed, her body shaking with her orgasm. It was the sign he’d been waiting for, and he came, relief filling him. He held her tight, not wanting to let go, but he knew he had to because he had to ditch the condom.
“Today was great.” Her voice was breathy, soft, and filled with love.
“I’m glad you had a good time.”
“Your friends are nice, and their wives are awesome. I like them.”
He stood and rushed to the bathroom to toss the condom. Once he was back in the room, he leaned against the doorjamb, his gaze on her. “So, speaking of that.”
She went up on one elbow. “Of what.”
“Wife. How long do you want to wait to get married?”
She narrowed her gaze, and then her lips twisted up to the side. “Please tell me you don’t want a big wedding.”
He shook his head. “No way. Just you and me, a witness and the officiant. I don’t need anyone else.”
“Tomorrow?”
Shock pulsed through him. “Really?”
She sat up. “It may take more than a day. But yeah, I’m serious. I think we’re good together.”
“We are.”
“We both feel like having kids isn’t something necessary, but it can be decided later.”
“We may never have kids. You good with that?”
She nodded. “Yes. I’m young. I don’t know what I’ll feel like in ten years. Like I saw Mel’s baby today and had no desire to have one.”
“It’s a good baby, though.”
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean we’d have the same experience.”
“True. I think that’s why we’re both talking about this.”
She stood and moved to him, not hiding any part of her body. He liked her confidence. “So if I never want a child, you’d be okay with that?”
He cupped her face. “I want to spend my life with you. I’m marrying you not for a child but for you. If we don’t have kids and we only have a dog or a cat, or maybe a fish, I’m good with that because you are the prize, not some hypothetical offspring that hasn’t happened. Besides, I’ve never had my sperm counted, and I may be infertile.”
Her eyes opened wide, and shock filled her face. “Wow. I knew you were a good guy, but you just put it out there.”
“What do you mean?”
“Usually, guys blame women for infertility and think their little swimmers are never at fault.”
“Well, I’m not most guys. My parents weren’t the best, but they introduced me to a lot of interesting concepts. Including the idea that infertility isn’t just a women’s issue.”
Her lips twisted up a little to the side. “So you’re great with me working?”
“Yes. I mean, I’d miss you if you left for a long assignment. I know this is something you will have to deal with, I will be deployed again. It won’t be in the next two years, but in three years from now, I may end up overseas, spending six to nine months living there. The longest SEAL deployment was a year. Those guys had a huge adjustment when they came back. It’s hard on the guys, on their families, on everyone. Six months is what they aim for. So if you marry me, know that every few years, I will be living on a base overseas, and I may not be able to contact you for days or weeks at a time.”
She held his hands and squeezed. “Yes. I know this. I get it. I know that can be hard on couples. We’ll go to counseling and figure out how to deal with it. We’ll work to make our relationship work.”
“I like that answer.” He grabbed his underwear and tossed her one of his shirts. He liked seeing her in his clothes. She looked so cute in them.
They headed out to the kitchen, and he grabbed two glasses of water for them while she grabbed a box of cereal and two bowls. He liked the idea of eating cereal after sex. It had been a while since he’d bought cereal, but when she bought the box and told him it would be a good snack for after sex, he knew she was right.
After he’d taken a few bites, he set his spoon down. “I’ve been deployed twice as a SEAL. Usually, you wait more than a year between deployments, but things happen and after a team was injured, my team was sent in. The first deployment wasn’t bad. The second, it messed with my mind. It took me a while to get back into living in the States.”
“Anything you can talk about?”
He shrugged. “It was rough. I mean, things happened, of course, but coming home was difficult. I should have gone to more counseling. I eventually regulated. I found some great tools to help me calm my anger. It’s much better now. But I want you to know that it took me a while to get back to normal. The next deployment could be just as bad.”
She reached for his hands. “If that happens, we’ll work through it. You won’t be left alone. We’ll work through everything together.”
“Together. I love that answer. I’ve never had a together before.”
“You do now.”
He was the luckiest man in the world. She could have walked away. He knew military guys could be very scary. He’d seen it firsthand when guys went off. It was frightening to see a guy totally lose his shit and start attacking people. He would never want to scare Nichole that way. He would make sure he had his emotions under control and everything regulated. He could do that for Nicole because she was the most important person in his life, and that wasn’t going to change.
