Chapter 24

Ruby
" I 'll never love you," I said, struggling to get off the couch, but he had a firm grip on my knees.
"Such a feisty omega," Marrok taunted, spreading my knees apart. He looked at my exposed center, eyes slanting with desire. "Look at this, your clit is peeking out to say hello."
He reached out to touch me, and I started to breathe hard as he squeezed my nub lightly between two fingers. I swallowed hard as he playfully released and pressed my clit. I tried to ignore him and focus on the wall, but I held back a moan.
My eyes squeezed shut as his tongue twirled around me, his hot breath hitting me. The sensation was so wrong, and I tried to shove his head away.
"Admit it, Ruby. You want this," Marrok whispered against my sensitive pussy, nibbling my clit and sending electric currents through me.
I clenched my teeth, unwilling to give him the satisfaction of knowing how aroused I was at this moment. Suddenly, he released me, and I sighed with relief.
Then, I heard a loud click. My eyes flew open to see Marrok smirking, phone in hand. He'd taken a picture of my most vulnerable moment .
"Marrok, you bastard!" I tried to shut my legs in horror, but he just grinned.
"Such a beautiful memory," he said as he stared at the photo on his phone. "The first time I tasted your sweet pussy. It's glistening in the photo."
Embarrassed, I stood up from the couch as he stared at the picture. I began to walk quickly towards the door, but Marrok caught up easily. I tried to twist his hand away from my arm, but with my weight, I started to fall to the ground. He quickly cushioned my fall by gently placing me over him.
My breathing was heavy as panic took over.
"Please...Don't hurt me," I begged, tears streaming down my face.
"Never," he said softly, almost tenderly, as he wiped my tears. "I've always loved you."
He laid me down on my back and kissed my breasts, avoiding my pregnant belly as he went down to resume licking me. His tongue swirled around my clit until I was breathing hard again. He flicked his tongue against me faster, forcing a low moan from me.
"Don't," I whimpered. "Please."
"Give in, Ruby. I'm your alpha honey," he urged, his tongue swirling around my clit before flicking it directly. The pleasure was too much, and I screamed as an orgasm emerged. Bolts of pleasure went through me, forcing my pussy to clench and throb over his hungry tongue. "Mhm, very good."
Tears rolled down my face as he licked the slick that was seeping out. Guilt for betraying my pack and feeling so violated at that moment by an alpha that I didn't know washed over me.
"You're a horrible person," I said, trying to shove his head away from between my legs, but that only made him suck my folds with a grunt the more I squirmed. He finally pulled back, and I could see his mouth shining with my slick.
"Was that horrible?" he asked with a frown.
"Very! Leave me alone now. "
"Then we can just try again," he said, licking his lips, his eyes darkening as he stared at my pussy again.
Wayne
Before we ran off in random directions, we stopped by Ruby's family home to see if she'd come here. I was nervous as I rang the doorbell, waiting for someone to answer.
The door opened, and Benjamin stood there in his pajamas with brown slippers.
"What's going on?" he asked.
"Did Ruby come here at all?" I asked in a low voice, trying not to alarm him. He instantly straightened his back, and a look of shock came over his face.
"You lost her? Where the hell is she?" he demanded.
Fuck it . He might as well know.
"Yes, we lost her," I said. "Lost her scent when we were tracking her. Thought she came here to get scent blockers or something."
"Idiots!" Ruby's father growled. "You should have marked her, protected her!"
"I'm sorry I wasn't quick enough..." I began, but we were distracted by Jasper joining us at the doorstep.
"And you," he pointed at Jasper, who had appeared from around the corner. "Why the fuck are you still around?"
"When I heard she was lost, I wanted to look for her too. I care about Ruby," said Jasper. "I'm just as disappointed in why Wayne didn't mark her."
"Sir, we didn't want to force her," I explained, guilt lacing my words. "We might have given her too much autonomy in her situation because of her feelings for Jasper."
"Enough!" Benjamin barked, his eyes bulging in worry as he quickly changed into a pair of sneakers. "Marrok has her. You need to find my daughter."
"Wait, Marrok?" asked Jasper, his eyes widening at the mention of his name. "What the fuck does he have anything to do with it?"
"I'll explain it to you in a minute," I muttered to him as Benjamin slammed the door in our faces.
We left Benjamin's house, our steps heavy with the weight of failure. The night was cool as it wrapped around us, but it offered no comfort against the gnawing worry for Ruby.
"You said she had feelings for me. Is that true?" Jasper asked quietly, his eyes searching mine for answers.
"Unfortunately, yes," I replied, my voice thick with regret. "But we should have protected her better. It's completely my fault."
Jasper sighed and clenched his fists at his sides. "I'm going to do right by her. I'll join your pack, Wayne, if you'll allow it. We need to be a stronger pack."
I mulled over his offer as we listened to Davy and Rufus muttering behind us. I reached up to grab a small green apple from one of the many trees. As I chewed on the apple, I contemplated having a bigger pack, which was all an alpha wanted. We already had an omega, but she was lost. I knew that he cared deeply for Ruby and that his loyalty would make him a valuable addition to our pack. If we were to stand a chance against enemies, this was the best course of action.
"You sure about this?" I asked.
"Yeah, but don't think you can boss me around," Jasper warned, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"Ask Davy and Rufus," I said, nodding toward them. "They'll tell you how it is."
Rufus raised his eyebrows and grinned. "Wayne can be an ass at times, but we're family."
"I'm sure about this," said Jasper with a deep breath. "This is for Ruby, but I will also pledge my loyalty. "
Excitement coursed through me as I felt that kindred bond that only happened when I accepted a member into my pack. We shifted into our wolf forms, the strength of our beast taking over. The rest of the pack followed suit, encircling Jasper beneath the silver moonlight. We barked and howled a primal song of unity and brotherhood.
Ready to save our omega? I communicated telepathically to my pack.
Yes- they chorused at the same time with determination. We all lifted our heads to the moon, howling from our chest. We would search far and wide for Ruby, destroying anyone who stood in our way.
Ruby
The smell of tomato sauce filled the air as Marrok hummed contentedly in the kitchen. I was lying on the couch, my heart pounding in horror, knowing I was stuck with him in this godforsaken cabin.
He never left my side, and it felt suffocating.
"Dinner's ready, my love," Marrok's voice cut through my thoughts, his golden eyes locked on me as he set two plates of spaghetti down at the dining table. Without waiting for me to struggle up from the couch, he walked over to me and gently pulled me to my feet by the hands while kissing me tenderly on the cheek. He looked more terrifying without his black robe on. There were dandruff flakes all across his black shirt and scars running down his bare, pale arms.
I shuddered at his scent of spices.
"I can walk," I said, pulling my hands from his with force.
"You're like a delicate egg, Ruby," he whispered lovingly into my ear, making me cringe. "I love you more than you can ever imagine. "
"No, you don't," I said as he led me toward the dining room chair. I wondered if my family or any of the alphas would ever find me in this rank cabin. "You don't know what the hell love is, you creep."
"No need to be rude now," he chided.
As I sat on the chair, I stared at the steaming plate of pasta with suspicion.
"I would never poison you, darling," said Marrok reassuringly, and my stomach growled on cue.
Biting my lip, I hesitantly twirled a forkful of pasta, my whole body tense as he sat across from me, watching my every move.
"There you go," he said, his voice soft as I ate. There wasn't much distance between us at all since the wood table was so small. I stayed quiet, blowing on the pasta before putting it in my mouth. My taste buds exploded with a mix of sweet and tangy flavors, but I couldn't enjoy the food after seeing the dandruff all over his shirt. I was starving at this point since I'd gone the whole day without any food, and the baby needed something.
"Where did you put my candy?" I asked him. It was the last thing I should be stressing out about, but I wanted it. Marrok's gaze never left my face.
"It's like I've known you forever, watching you every day," Marrok continued as if talking to himself, completely ignoring my question. "I'm your true mate. I'm the only one who cares about you."
A chill ran down my spine as I realized it had always felt like someone was watching me. Now, I was desperate as hell to escape him.
"Please, let me go home. You have no use for a pregnant omega," I pleaded.
His eyes flashed. "You're special to me, Ruby. You'll make my father proud of me."
"Why wouldn't your father be proud of you?" I asked.
"He preferred my siblings over me for some reason," he said, his eyes downcast. He went on to talk about his father's disappointment, and I felt a pang of sympathy. But I knew he wouldn't hesitate to kill my baby once it was born.
After dinner, Marrok took my plate as I drank ice water, the cabin unbearably warm and stuffy. As I watched him washing the plates, my heart pounded as I asked him questions. I wasn't sure what would set off his anger, and I needed to be careful.
"Why are you living all alone out here?" I asked.
"Because my family thought it would be best since the people talk about me," he replied cryptically.
"What do they talk about?"
"I have…particular hobbies that not many packs would be proud of."
Like sleeping with humans , I thought to myself.
Drying his hands, he walked towards me, and fear began to escalate within me. I was terrified, knowing that he wasn't stable at all. He held his hand out to me, and I hesitated before taking it. I wanted him to trust me a little so I could somehow escape. I just needed a freaking plan, but it looked impossible.
I was nervous as he led me towards the bedroom. It was the last place I wanted to go with him. The room had a large mattress on the floor, covered by a ripped blue blanket and moldy-looking sheets.
"Oh my god," I said to myself as he gestured for me to sit on the blanket. I cringed inside as my skin made contact with the bed. My heart was beating so fast that I thought I might faint. I tried to calm my breathing, but it was coming in short gasps, terrified of what Marrok would do to me.
He remained standing as he smiled down at me—a sinister, predatory smile. He immediately spun around and started rummaging through one of the dresser drawers.
"I've been waiting for this moment forever," he breathed as he pulled out a blue velvet box and knelt in front of me. My heart raced as he opened it, revealing a large ruby ring that sparkled in the dim light.
"Oh no. This can't be happening," I said in horror .
"Ruby, I'm just so honored that you're here with me. I'm very much looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you," he crooned, and I couldn't suppress a shudder. His words echoed in my head like a twisted promise. "I will love you forever, and you will never miss your old pack. I'm here to take care of you."
