Chapter Fourteen - Ruslan

I'm not a man you can easily run from, and now as I have my pretty little prey pinned against a tree, I know it to be true. I can smell the fear pulsing from Fiona's body and see the intense terror in her eyes as I hold her hands above her head, pinning her to the pine tree behind her. Her heavy breasts swell as she inhales, but with the firm hold I have over her, she can't move—but still, she isn't exactly yielding to me the way I want, and it's turning me into a savage. Tightening my grip around her wrists, her body wriggles underneath me, because she's trying to find a way to get away from me, but there's no hope in hell I'm letting her go. I lean my body weight into hers, breathing hard on her face.

"Give up," I grind out in her ear, then sticking my tongue out to lick it.

" Let me go! " she demands, her face flushed from running, but I shake my head.

"No, Red October. You and I both know I can't do that." I chuckle at her na?ve suggestion, but I'm equally impressed by her driving skills. She would make an excellent getaway driver, if I needed her to be one. But right now, all I need from her are the precious Omerta files.

"Very, very good, Red October. I underestimated you. You've got stamina and you're very cunning. I like it. It's the biggest thrill for a man like me," I pant, proud that Fiona has made me sweat for it. There's an undeniable magnetism the minx possesses, and I succumb to the irresistible urge, bruising her plump lips with a rough kiss, prizing her mouth open, and dipping my tongue into the dark well of her mouth. Alarm crosses her face as she regards me with a mix of fear and defiance, but the kiss deepens with her passionate response, our tongues blurring together.

The deep groove of a smile drifts over my face as I draw back and take note of the determined glint in her emerald eyes. I draw one of her arms down, quickly drawing my gun with the other, only to remind her of who's in charge, jamming it hard into her stomach.

"The game is over. Where are the files?" I grind between my teeth, the trickle of sweat dripping down the side of her face, begging me to wipe it. Temptation takes a hold of me, but I keep Fiona solidly pinned to the tree, not letting up.

She doesn't fold as I expect her too, but then again, the buxom vixen has been unpredictably exhilarating from our first meeting and her sumptuous mouth stays clamped shut. We're in an open field, in the middle of nowhere, and if I were to shoot her execution style and bury her body, she'll be gone without a trace. The thing is we've got unfinished business to settle.

Clicking off the safety with the intent to frighten her into giving me the Omerta files, I push the barrel of the gun deeper into the middle of her stomach, her eyes widening, but more so than spotting fear, there's a steely resilience. She's not giving up, and as a crow craws above our heads, I'm even more impressed by her loyalty. Another excellent trait that would bode well amongst the Bratva ranks. It's a shame I was sleeping with an enemy in a way, but her strategic moves are reminiscent of being the daughter of a Don. That's for certain.

"You can't kill me," she breathes out.

Pressing my body into her harder, I wipe the sweat and grime from her forehead. "Tell me why I shouldn't kill you right now? Especially after you drugged me, you little minx," I growl, but my hard arousal springs, and I'm coming close to taking over as my mind runs through the sordid fantasy of laying her down in the middle of the open field and making love to her.

Omerta Files. Protect the Bratva brotherhood.

"I had to get away, and if you kill me, you're killing your unborn child. I'm the daughter of a Don, and I know you understand what this means," she punches out, blinking rapidly, confusing me.

At first, I bellow with laughter, thinking it's a fantastic diversionary tactic, but her soft emerald eyes, matching the trees of the forest, cling to my penetrating gaze, holding tight. A stiff breeze cuts over the open field as I move the gun away from her stomach, running the steel piece down the side of her face as I let my tongue cover my top lip.

"Killing my unborn child? If you're trying to do something sly, you better believe I'm going to do some unspeakable things to you, Red October."

She doesn't balk, her eyes speaking their own version of truth to me. " No. What reason would I have to lie to you?"

Grinning, I shake my head, tempted once more by the vixen's beautiful mouth. "You have all the reasons in the world. You're Luca's daughter. What a treat it was to find out who you really are. Now I've popped your cherry too," I whisper, tormenting her. Her next move is even more shocking as her knee lifts, and she slams her foot down on mine.

" Fuck! " I yelp, not ready for the intense, stabbing pain it causes. Instantly, I release her, and she takes the split second to evade my grasp, running farther across the field. Chuckling, I observe her at full speed, her brunette locks, flapping in the breeze. For a few seconds I'm breathless, because at full speed, smack bang in the middle of the forest, she resembles a forest nymph. All she needs is the woodland deer and a forest cottage to appear and then the picture will be complete.

Is she really carrying my baby? The look in her eyes tells me she's not, but the Red October is unpredictable, so who knows. Snapping out of it, I give her even more of a head start. With my leg speed and strength at six-four, she's got no hope of running away from me.

"One, two, three, four," I count under my breath, letting her reach close to the other side of the forest before I attempt running after her. As my heart picks up speed, I take off, pumping my legs hard to reach her, and closing the gap fast. I'm almost disappointed that she's slowed down and is tiring.

In one large stretch, I reach out, tugging at the back of her top, reining her back in like with a lasso, but this time I pin her to the tree, slightly out of breath.

"I'm not lying. I promise you," she whispers with heavy panting, matching the coolness of the mid-morning breeze. For a beat, I hold my body weight against hers so she can't run but decide against doing anything and let her loose. "If you run, baby or not, I will shoot you in the back. Understood?" I pitch.

"Yes. I understand."

"Good." I let up, shocked by the admission, but it makes perfect sense. I slept with her, and didn't have any protection. Of course she could be pregnant. And now, the woman who I've wanted to get to know has changed the game in a big way.

Releasing her, I watch her carefully as she rubs her wrists, and I call Mark and my two other Bratva brothers. "Hey, I'm in the middle of the clearing, and I have her. Come."

Tilting her chin, I hitch it up a little, her lip quivering, but her eyes bright.

"You're with child and not just anyone's child. They are a very special breed of combination." I smile broadly, but she turns her cheek from me. Grabbing her face, I force it back to face me, clutching her cheeks, and kissing her. Hard. "You gave me a good run, Red October. Oh, you did, and now we're going to get to know one another very, very well."

I don't have to call my men to the field; they're already here, quickly surrounding us, their guns cocked. I order them to drop them.

"Did you get the file? Now we can shoot her, yes?" Mark asks, a dirty grin on his face, as I shake my head, shifting my attention back to Fiona.

"No. There are new developments which have changed things," I cut back slowly, Fiona's face stoic. "We're keeping this one for a little while," I say, reaching out to stroke the side of her face. She slaps my hand away as I chuckle. "Take her, Mark, but don't hurt her. I'm going to deal with her myself. The rest of you—I want you to search her car, her house, and her electronics. Leave no area untouched," I bark.

Fiona spits fire from her mouth as Mark and one of my brothers hold her by the biceps, hauling her away. "You'll never find the files, Ruslan. Never! " she shouts, but Fiona knows nothing of the lengths I'll go to get what I want. But she's about to find out….
