Violie
"Beatriz said to do it," Violie tells the others.
Bairre gives a nod, unstoppering the stardust and pouring it out on the back of his hand. It looks like any other stardust Violie has seen before, but she supposes Aurelia knows better than she does about what it can and can't do.
"I wish a hole drilled through the ground, large enough to shine a beam of sunlight on Beatriz without the ground collapsing," he says.
It happens immediately, the ground between them falling away as if through a tiny sinkhole, creating a narrow tunnel, just large enough for Violie to fit through should she be inclined to try it, which she isn't.
"Did it work?" Leopold asks, peering down into the hole.
"I don't know," Violie says before a commotion in the streets outside the graveyard catches her attention. "But I'm sure we'll know soon enough—one of our armies seems to have arrived."
