Chapter 35
CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE
G wil followed Hyax out of the reception room, but instead of being led outside, Hyax pulled him down a corridor and Gwil realised they were heading in the direction of Hyax's rooms. "What we doing?"
"We can join the others in a moment, after I've collected something. I didn't think you'd mind delaying a bit."
"If I had my way I wouldn't go at all but I guess that's not an option."
Hyax led him into his rooms. "Afraid not. But we won't have to attend for long. We'll show our faces and leave, then when we're here I've a burning desire to fuck you in my bed. I'm acutely aware we've not had the chance yet."
"I'd be up for doing that and not going to the party."
Hyax kissed him. "Patience is a virtue."
"Vampires aren't known for having virtues."
"I say, Mr Hilt, are you trying to corrupt a fae prince into disobeying his parents?"
Gwil grinned and waggled his eyebrows. He reached out and stroked a finger down the edge of Hyax's wing. Hyax let out a low moan as his wings vibrated.
"It would be the type of thing those terrible vampires would do. And I'd be lying if I didn't want you to put me on my back and fuck me through the mattress."
"It would be very remiss of me not to look after the interest of the individual who helped the fae crown."
"I might even be insulted."
Hyax crashed their lips together and Gwil gasped as Hyax lifted him off his feet. As he landed on the bed, a wave of magic left them both naked, a neat pile of clothes now sitting on the side.
"We've only time for a quickie, but I promise that I'll worship you properly later."
He gasped at the tingle in his arse and the feel of being stretched by Hyax's magic. "Fuck, what was that."
"A little something to speed things up."
Hyax was not joking when he said they had to be quick because, before he could reply, he was being breached by Hyax's cock. While he'd prefer the traditional way, with Hyax taking his time, this did expedite matters and it wasn't as if he hadn't been hard and raring to go.
He clung onto Hyax's shoulders as he began to fuck him, Gwil under no illusion that Hyax was in full control and he was more than happy to be in the hands of an experienced lover. Another crackle of magic accompanied the sensation of a hand around his cock. Hyax's hips thrusting and the hand matching their rhythm made him unable to think, all he was aware of was the building orgasm and the pleasure from his body being so expertly played.
The wave of delight crashed through him, nerves on fire and he came with a shout. Hyax came moments later, his thrusts having become more erratic as he chased his climax.
For a moment, they lay there, Hyax panting into his ear and Gwil not sure of his own name.
Hyax rolled away, slipping out of Gwil. "You okay."
Gwil was just about recovered enough to reply. "Yeah, good."
"That wasn't too weird, was it? I couldn't wait to get inside you."
"Bit of warning next time would be nice, but I'm not complaining."
Hyax stroked Gwil's chest. "You're fucking perfect. And as much as I'd like to bask in the afterglow, we really need to attend the garden party."
Gwil suspected if they dallied too much, someone would be sent to find them. "I'm more than happy to do so now I look well-fucked by their darling prince. I might tell anyone who asks me that it was my reward from the royal family for doing such an upstanding job."
"While I applaud the sentiment, I don't think that's the best way to ingratiate yourself with your future in-laws."
They hadn't spoken about actually getting married, the betrothal was fictitious to get Hyax's parents off his back. "They'll only get to be my in-laws if we get hitched for real."
Hyax gave him a calculating look. "They think we're getting married. So for all intents and purposes, we're engaged."
He sniffed and raised an eyebrow. "Given we've only been dating a week, it'll look a bit like a shotgun wedding, and I don't want people to think I'm that sort of girl."
"No one is going to think I've planted a fae baby in you and I'm doing the right thing and standing by my baby mama."
"I also don't want to be labelled as a gold digger." He smirked. "I'm a nice lad, me. If you ignore the blood sucking and creature of the night tag."
"We've known each other for years. People will think we've been together longer than we have, and I would think we could consider the actual shagging part as us just consummating our long-term relationship."
He wasn't averse to the idea of marrying Hyax, far from it, but there was something that niggled him and he might as well get it off his chest. "You see I'm one of those traditional types that likes to be asked about the major decisions in my life…er… death, rather than being told I'm suddenly the official fuck toy to a prince."
Hyax rolled him onto his back and straddled him. "So, Mr Hilt, are you saying that your only opposition to us becoming shackled to each other in a legal sense in either of our realms is a proper proposal?" Hyax's eyes were a glorious shade of deep blue, he was a beautiful man and Gwil thought he did well not to whimper with Hyax pinning him to the bed.
"Depends on how I'm asked. I might not say yes."
"Oh, I see, suddenly picky, are we? You want a diamond to seal the deal? A locket with my picture? All a bit too human for my tastes."
"Or you could just ask." He stared into Hyax's eyes, wondering if he might have pushed too far and Hyax didn't want to marry Gwil for real.
"A novel thought." He nuzzled Gwil's nose with his own. "Mr Gwilym Hilt, will you do me the honour of being my husband, my bond mate and my happy ever after?"
For the briefest moment he thought about giving a snarky answer but he didn't want to fuck this up.
"Yes."
"Right answer."
Hyax kissed him, and Gwil felt like he was flying. He ran his fingertips across the edge of Hyax's wings which vibrated wildly and he had to hold on tighter to stop them from lifting off the bed.
"After the party will come back up here and repeat our earlier activities with the extended version where I work you open with my tongue."
Gwil's brain short-circuited at the thought of Hyax delivering on his promise.
Hyax rolled away, which was probably for the best if they had to go downstairs and he didn't beg for another round instead. "Are there any vampire traditions I should be forewarned of?"
"Bit late for that now, don't you think?" Gwil said. "I'm not going to let you back out."
Hyax sat up. "I suppose so. But I think it only fair we would combine both our customs."
Vampires had all sorts of traditions, many of them not palatable to non-vampires. "The main one you might not want to do. There's often a bit of a nibble, if you get what I mean. Just a sip to get a taste."
"You want to feed from me?" Hyax didn't sound repulsed, more curious.
"Not feeding, more a sip, and I wouldn't press you into it if you don't want to."
He'd never fed off a fae and did wonder if Hyax would taste sweet or spicy.
"You wouldn't turn me?"
Gwil liked the direction this was taking, he'd never thought Hyax might be open to some of the vampire ways, he was already ecstatic that the sparkly git had proposed properly. "Oh no. It's just something for the wedding night, as an extra to exchanging vows."
"Okay, I'm game if you're willing to do a fae tradition in trade."
He knew he should be a bit cautious when agreeing to let a fae do whatever they wanted, but he trusted Hyax. "Sure. What do you have in mind?"
Hyax stroked his neck. "Humans have wedding rings, we have collars. I had thought it might not be something you'd be willing to wear as they could be seen as a sign of ownership, and traditionally silver. But we can change the metal."
"I'd have no problem with a non-silver collar."
Hyax caressed his collarbone, and Gwil shivered in delight. "A lovely platinum collar would suit you wonderfully."
They shared another lazy kiss. Gwil couldn't remember the last time he'd been this happy. Maybe during the false euphoria of when he was sired, but that seemed insignificant in comparison. He'd locked away the hope of having someone to love and be with, and even once he'd met Hyax, he'd been resigned to never being more than friends but now they were together and had to force himself to believe it. They still had things to sort out, and Hyax's parents' acceptance was far from won, so it would be some time before he could call Hyax his husband but he had time, he could wait.
Death had never been better.
