Chapter Nine
Zelos
Jealousy rushed through me, pounding in my chest as I heard her cries from outside the bedroom door.
Kyree let out a chuckle, bumping me. “You owe me money.”
I sent him a glare. Did he really think he was going to get money from me? From a stupid bet I didn’t want to be a part of?
He cocked a brow, leaning against the wall. He was covered in blood, almost too comfortable. We had killed a few aliens, their blue blood covering both of our suits. To be fair, her screams attracted all of them away from us, helping us escape.
Theon left. Full-on just left the game. He looked like he wanted to shit himself.
“Are you jealous, Zelos?” Kyree asked.
I scoffed. “Me? Jealous? Why would I be?”
He shrugged. “Because you saw her first.”
I did, and I fell in love with her first, yet here she was, shagging up with Cyrus first . I couldn’t help but feel like he was better than me. There was a possibility that she could choose only him.
Not me or all of us.
I let out a sigh. Cyrus wasn’t better than me. We were equal. She looked at me with the same lust-filled eyes as she did him.
Wrestling came from inside the room before the door opened.
Standing up straight, I watched as Kouvr and Cyrus exited the room.
Cyrus quickly closed the door behind him. “Aliens from the vent.”
Kouvr pushed her blonde hair back from her face, looking up at me. “Are you okay?”
My brows pulled.
“You’re bleeding.”
I reached up and touched my forehead. It was sore from hitting a wall when an alien threw me into it. I didn’t notice I was bleeding though. My fingers were red, meaning it was my own blood. “I’m fine.”
“Does it hurt?” she asked, stepping closer.
She smelt like sex, not the way she smelt when she first came in. And instead of jealousy, I felt like a shark smelling blood in water. My cock stirred to life, and I craved to have her smelling like that after I was done with her.
“Yeah,” I said before realizing what she said. I grabbed her wrist as she reached for me. “No. I mean, I’m alright.”
“That’s good at least,” she said with a warm smile, letting her hand drop. She glanced at us as aliens banged on the door behind her. “Did Theon really leave?”
Kyree nodded, a smile on his lips. “Of course, he did. He’s a pus-”
“Don’t be rude,” she cut him off.
He licked his lips, dark eyes locked on her. Kyree didn’t do too well with being told what to do. Though, he didn’t finish his rude statement, which was a first.
“We should get out of here. Continue the game?”
Cyrus nodded, running a hand through his damp hair.
She moved from between us, and I looked at Cyrus. The drone was still flying around us, glowing red.
Cyrus patted my shoulders, and I felt the urge to punch him in the chest, though I wouldn’t hurt him. Or mean to. He followed her, eyes glued to her ass.
That jealousy was back. I’d never been jealous a day in my life, not over my friends at least. I didn’t need to be. We were all equals. I made as much money as Cyrus. I had just as nice things as him.
But I didn’t have Kouvr.
Though I wanted to be inside of her, I thought about just being with her. Talking to her, getting to know her more than behind screens. I craved to have her attention more than her pussy.
I wasn’t shaming Cyrus for doing it. These men had been waiting for her for so long.
I’ve just been waiting to love her longer.
“You got the pink suit,” Kyree said.
Kouvr beamed and spun. “I found it in the closet. Isn’t it cute?”
I smiled. Yes.
“Of course, beautiful,” he replied.
She glanced over her shoulder, cheeks turning a rosy pink. “Now, where do we go from here?” she whispered, peeking from around the corner. “Is there a way to get to the bridge? Maybe there’s not many monsters there.” She was watching something and then quickly moved across the hall, but her boots barely making a noise.
I peeked. Aliens were at the end of the hall, all dormant.
For now.
One by one, we crossed the hall and followed Kouvr.
Though no one spoke and told her what to do, her eyes looked in every room for solutions. Then her eyes lit up when she found it.
Her hand moved to press the button to open the door, and she stepped inside. “I have a crazy idea,” she muttered. “Let me know if I can’t do it.”
None of us said anything, looking at her. It wasn’t a crazy idea. It was a good one, and we weren’t going to stop her.
Kouvr
Part of me wished that Theon was here as I put on the last part of my astronaut suit, the helmet. It hissed and clicked into place, instantly blasting air in my face. A few things lit up in the helmet, telling me my heart rate and all that fun stuff.
I was sure Theon had done this a million times and could care less about it. Yet, I still wanted to experience this with him. All of them.
This was the first time in a while that it felt fun to play video games. Whenever I used to try, I would sit in front of a PC and stare at the loading screen.
“Are you ready?” Cyrus asked.
I nodded, looking outside the window. I wasn’t even sure I could make it to the control bridge from here by walking in space. “Can we make it?”
“We can.”
I inhaled. Maybe I was on the right track here. I glanced over at Cyrus. His eyes were locked on the dark space beyond the port door. He looked so handsome standing there, reminding me of how I caught a glimpse of his face in the reflection of the window earlier. He was fucking himself into me, white hair falling against his forehead. Pleasure screwed up in his face.
Heat rushed to my lower stomach, remembering our time together.
His bright blue eyes looked over at me, a small smile on his lips. “You okay, beautiful?”
I tried to say “mhm,” but it came out as a slight moan. My nerves were on fire, aching to be soothed by him or his mouth. “Let’s move. I don’t want to be alien food.”
Kyree moved to the button next to the port door. It opened to a chamber that led out to another door that opened to the outside.
My heart pounded in my ear with excitement as we stepped inside the chamber.
Glancing at all the guys, I saw they were in white astronaut suits like mine. We all looked like we were about to walk on the moon. Once the pressurized oxygen settled, we got the green light to open the door.
Behind us, the aliens pounded on the door of the room we were in. I looked back, just as the port door in front of us opened to the dark open space.
“Here,” Cyrus said, grabbing a wire that was connected to the side of the building. “We can scale the side until we get to the end.”
The other door finally burst open under the weight of the aliens. Those creatures began crawling inside, some scattering along the walls and ceilings. It sent a shiver down my spine, and my heart rate spiked out of fear.
“Time to go,” Kyree said, pulling me to the door, hooking me in, and then pushing me out.
My hands shook with fear. “I see why Theon left,” I muttered, stepping out onto the walkway on the side of the spaceship.
Cyrus chuckled, leading the way on the catwalk. “Why?”
Looking back, I saw that Kyree and Zelos were right behind me. I pulled on the wire a bit, seeing it was attached pretty well to a bar on the side of the space station so that we wouldn’t go flying off into space. Then I looked out into space. It was beautiful, even as a huge, massive black abyss.
The spaceship shifted a bit, and suddenly, a part of the spaceship flew over us, but it looked like it was supposed to rotate over us.
Head tilting back, I watched in awe, following it as it passed. Behind us, the sound of banging cut through the quiet air.
“They are coming,” Kyree urged. I could hear his voice in the helmet’s intercom.
“They seem pretty relentless,” I muttered.
“More so than usual,” Cyrus muttered back.
I glanced at him, wondering what that meant. But before I could ask, we approached the edge of the catwalk, where the bridge was destroyed. I looked around, looking for the next step. “What cool shit can these nice suits do? Maybe propel us forward to that door?” I asked, pointing to the door that was against the command center. It was still intact and now visible to us instead of being hidden in the bridge.
Kyree reached forward, clicking a button that turned on something in my suit. My body lifted in the air a bit. “Whoa!” I yelped, grabbing his shoulder. I didn’t get far, as the rope kept me locked down. I looked down to see the boots had some type of jet pack.
“Let’s get out of here before they get outside,” Zelos said, unclipping himself from the wire and pressing the same button on his suit that cut on the jet packs in the suit. He was the first to move into the abyss of space.
Excitement rushed through me, making me forget how scared I was about the monstrous aliens behind us.
Who doesn’t want to fly through space?
I looked at the drone before unhooking myself and taking off after Zelos. My heart pounded in my ears, and a rush of adrenaline in my veins. “Oh my gosh.” The drone followed as I flew through the air. I was a bit wobbly about flying, but after a moment, I got the hang of it.
Doing a turn, I saw Kyree and Cyrus behind us. A smile on Cyrus’s face behind his clear visor. Heat rushed between my legs when our eyes met. Flashes of us together went through my head. My heart rate spiked a bit. Turning back around, we flew over the collapsed bridge.
Shards of metal float around us. A few bangs rang out in space behind us.
Looking back, the aliens finally got out. They turned to us, a hoard of them climbing all over the spaceship.
A shiver rushed down my spine. They looked like a ton of ants climbing all over. I was barely able to see the spaceship they were on. I tried to push the jet shoes faster when I saw them jumping into space towards us. They didn’t seem to care about getting lost in the abyss.
“Why are there so many?” Zelos whispered in the helmet.
I glanced back. Was this not part of the game? Were there too many aliens? It was definitely working and scaring me.
We finally reached the door with the aliens close behind.
Zelos slammed on the button outside of the door. The door opened, but I quickly realized that aliens were already inside.
They swarmed out, instantly grabbing him.
“Zelos!” I gasped, trying to reach out for him.
Hands grabbed me and pushed me away just as the horde behind us got the rest of the guys.
I flipped through the air, breathing heaving. I tried to stop, but the force was sending me away. In a few flashes, I could see the purple planet.
Spinning upside down made me dizzy, making me close my eyes. The game made a noise, and when I opened my eyes again, I was in the ParaDise lobby. The theater theme was very comforting to see.
I let out a sigh, feeling dizzy.
Cyrus was sitting at the table, elbows resting on the table. Zelos was leaning on the food counter behind Kyree.
“I should have tried to look for weapons,” I muttered, thinking about all the different ways that it could have gone differently.
Cyrus let out a slight chuckle. “Did you at least enjoy the game?”
I nodded and began telling them what I liked about it.
