Breaking And Entering Again
The walk inside the art building was easier than I thought it'd be. The doors were unlocked—why were the doors unlocked? But the answer became apparent once Adam tried any other door to poke his way through. The building itself was unlocked but every other door didn't have easy access. And all of the available chairs, coffee tables, and lamps were chained down in a locked receptionist's room.
"Man, if we were robbing this place, this would suck." Adam sighed. "Wait, we are robbing this place."
The girls stopped at the foot of the stairs and Kassie shifted the Romans' cap, further covering up her hair. "We're going to grab everything from upstairs. We'll be back, okay?"
"Don't take too long."
A soft smile touched her face and my chest squeezed. "I won't. Promise."
At least Adam had the restraint to wait until the footsteps faded and a door closed behind them before he turned to me. "I pwomise ."
I rolled my eyes.
"King? Do you pwomise ?"
He grinned. "I don't know Adam, do you pwomise? "
" Shhh ." I snapped up and gazed down the dark hallway. The hairs on the back of my neck rose.
It was after seven. The place was empty.
I took a careful step back, King joined me, but I had to grab the back of Adam's shirt and yank him toward the wall. The footsteps paused but resumed, definitely in our direction.
Even with the lights off, the emergency signs still beamed enough.
Shit.
"Mr. Cross?" The last person in the world that I would've expected stepped down the hall, shuffling papers between his hands. Mr. Ishisaka peered up at the three of us, three Marrs University football players, hanging out in his building after dark.
I stared, dumbfounded. "Mr. Ishisaka?"
"What're you…doing?"
"We're—uh—we're waiting for Kassie." I stopped myself, mind whirling. "See, she's got to pick something up for work—"
"With the university?"
His joy stopped me and I breathed out a sigh of relief. Nodding, I grinned. "That's right."
"I was so proud. I've seen the cuts she's working on."
Adam tilted away from King. "That's our illustrator-in-chief."
"Illustrator—oh, you're the other boy in the cut!"
"Boy?"
With a hard shake of my head, I made Adam swallow his words. We had to keep Kassie's professor moving. I cleared my throat. "It's been great seeing you, sir. I hope you have a pleasant evening."
"It has been good seeing—I haven't heard a response from Kassie."
"A response?"
He beamed. "She has the email waiting in her inbox. But I'm sure she's been busy with final projects."
"What email?"
"A job offer, remote work!"
"A job offer?" I stood there, not sure I'd heard him correctly. "Kassie, my Kassie, has a job offer in her email? Are you sure? For…is it time sensitive?"
"The project isn't until February, but they're looking to sign on people early."
It took me a couple of seconds to process his words. I knew how much Kassie adored him. If it was one that her professor wanted to pass along, it had to be something good. Something worthwhile. And remote work? Kassie could go anywhere.
Not just Florida.
"Thank you, Mr. Ishisaka. I'll make sure she finds out."
"It's appreciated." He smiled.
I was glowing probably as much as he was. Back at the wall, I took a deep breath, watching over the scene. I finally had a way to put everything together.
"Man, I love professors at the end of the semester," Adam said. "It's late as shit, we're all in black, and he did not care. The man just wanted to go home. I respect that."
Sneakers hurried down the stairs and Kassie and Zariah emerged with a heavy box that they could barely carry between them. I easily pulled it away from the girls.
"If you're getting that, I'm opening the car door!"
"Don't you dare—Kassie—I'm being serious— shit —" I pushed past her on the skinny path towards the car. Kassie wasn't lugging around the box but I still easily beat her. "Stop trying to overtake me."
"Why don't I get my door opened?" Adam complained. "We risked our necks too."
The ride back to my dorm was shorter than usual. No traffic and no morons playing catch in the parking lot. Inside, we pushed all the living room furniture to the side and started putting everything together. Kassie wove between the set up and her laptop.
"Pizza should be here in thirty," Zariah said.
"Normal pizza?" Adam pushed through, grabbing for her phone. "Or Ryan pizza?"
"Both."
They could laugh all they wanted but I still had an extra-large pizza coming my way, another hour free, and my hot art girl walking up to me with a sealed package in her arms.
If I didn't know any better, Kassie was trying to give it to me.
I stared down at it. "I'm not wearing this."
"Yeah, you are."
"No, I'm not."
"Yeah—you are."
"I'm not. You're wearing this."
"Do these grab at the crotch?" King asked. "It's not a dealbreaker, I'm just wondering."
"Hold on." I gazed down at Kassie, genuinely confused. "This whole thing was so you could do this. That's why we did this."
She raised an eyebrow. "I'm not wearing one."
"I thought that was the whole point? So you can put on your costume, and you can do what you want with it."
Her amused look never left. "I'm animating you guys. I need football player movements. That's the purpose of this."
I took another look down at the sealed packages in my hands. If I would've known that I had to get up in one of the leotards, I would've rethought the evening. "I have to wear one of the costumes?"
"They're not costumes. They're motion capture suits. Mocap suits."
"It's a costume."
Kassie sighed and reached up to wrap a hand around the back of my neck. I almost made a joke about how she couldn't reach when she raised her eyebrows, gazing into my eyes. "I can do a new anatomy study tonight. Fifteen different positions on a piece of paper and you can pick like a menu."
My eyebrows raised. My cock stiffened.
"Like a menu?" I repeated.
"Mm-hmm."
"What if I want a main course and dessert?"
Her lips twitched for a smile and she pushed the sealed package towards my chest.
Slowly, I nodded. "I'm putting on the costume."
