T hat same night, I lay in my bed wondering what had become of Ethan.

I was shocked to see him get so angry on my behalf, but I was also touched. I smiled when I remembered Ethan cursing out Jordan. The alpha security had broken up the fight, and as I stood there in shock, I saw the annoyance on Ryder's face as Ethan was dragged out of the room. "Oh, thank goodness," I said, whispering just in case the cameras on the ceiling could hear us. The little red light blinking in the dark reminded me to be careful. "I know who the stalker is."

"Jordan?" hissed Ethan.

"Yes," I said.

"I should've let Ethan kill him then," said Ryder, sighing as he lay still beside me. "I need to touch you in case anyone is watching through the cameras. Is that okay, Lacy?"

"Yes," I said without hesitation. I missed him, and I missed his touch especially. He laid a hand on my arm as we talked for several minutes, catching up. He told me about talking to my mom on the phone and being at my house. "Do you have a plan on how we're going to get out of here?"

"I do, but it's vague," said Ryder. "I've seen alpha handlers walk omegas around the compound, and I was thinking we could try that tomorrow morning. Then we make a run for it."

"Ooh," I said, feeling excited now. I was so ready to go back home. "But we need to take Olivia too."

"We should have come sooner. Adrian was fucking right for once," growled Ethan, rubbing my arm.

"Aww, I miss Adrian," I said, smiling and trying to lighten the mood. I couldn't let my mood damper them coming here. Ryder kissed away my tears that I didn't know rolled down my face. I was touched that Adrian still thought of me and wanted to see how I was.

"It's alphas like your ex that ruin it for the rest of us," said Ryder. "Not all of us are like that."

"I know," I said, letting out a long, shuddering breath.

For a few minutes, we were quiet as we listened to doors opening and closing down the hall. I listened to the alphas breathing beside me. It felt nice to have them beside me, and I felt much safer than I had in days. I felt bad for Olivia, who was probably suffering with some alpha jerk in her room, but she said he wasn't that bad. "After we left you that night," said Ryder, and I could tell he was deep in thought, remembering. I didn't want to remember all the embarrassing things I yelled at him about. I wanted to forget and start over. "It was hard to let go and forget about you, knowing you were in danger. I shouldn't have allowed myself to walk out that door."

"Don't feel bad because if you didn't, I would've really flipped out," I said. "I didn't want to see reason after what you did to me."

Tempers were high that night, and there was no way I was going to let the bodyguards stay in my house after getting spanked by them.

"I missed you, Lacy, more than I thought I would," said Ryder, flipping over onto his side. I felt his dark gaze eating me up with his intense look. My heart was palpitating like crazy right now. I turned to look at him, locking gazes with the guard who stole my heart out of nowhere.

"Ryder," I said, my heart beating fast and hard in my chest. Tears pricked my eyes. "I missed you too. And you too, Ethan."

I missed him so much.
