Chapter six
Islam the door to the clubhouse open, taking all my anger out on that fucker. Stupid doors and stupid men who walk through them without waking you up.
I look over at the bar that looks so different from the one I saw my hottie at yesterday.
I stomp over to Echo, Rex, and Jett, flopping down in a sulk. I know I’m being ridiculous, but I can’t help it.
“Men suck,” I bark out. “Who has the best fucking night of their lives and then sneaks out the next morning? Seriously, who does that?”
They all just look at me blankly.
“Whatever. We are going to hire a tech guy, and then he’ll find Nipples, and I’ll fuck him so hard he’ll be too tired to leave me.” That’s actually a really solid idea. We’ve been after a new tech guy for ages after Harry retired down to Florida. Finding my man can be his first job.
“You want to find a tech guy to fuck?”
“Who is Nipples?
“You found a guy you want to keep?”
I roll my eyes. “I don’t want to fuck the tech guy. Nipples is the guy I slept with last night, and yeah, I want to keep him.”
What is with all the blank faces? These guys are usually smart fuckers.
“Booker, it kinda sounds like he doesn’t feel the same way,” Echo says with the air of someone trying to placate a toddler. My eyes narrow.
“He felt what I felt. I don’t know why he ran, but I know he will want to be found.”
“Booker-”
“No more Booker-ing me. I will find him.” I stand up, about to storm off, when my mom rushes in the door with Reed following behind with a lot less urgency.
“Booker, is Kenny back?” She asks, bouncing on her toes.
“I don’t know, I just got in. Are you okay?” I look her over and then look at Reed, who just rolls their eyes.
“She’s fine. Dad went to see his new son today over in [town name], so she’s excited.” He sounds anything but.
“I made him a wash bag,” she beams proudly.
“Just…just a wash bag?” I ask with caution.
She throws her hands in the air. “I know what you’re thinking, Booker. I don’t even know if he owns a dildo. I still think there is nothing wrong with a personalized dildo cover.”
“Mom, you’re right there isn’t,” I start. “But making one for your son, without him knowing, is crossing boundaries.”
“How do I know I’m crossing a boundary if you’ve never told me it before?”
“Valid,” Jett pipes up. I shoot him a dirty look.
“Sex toys belonging to your adult child being off limits are an automatic boundary.”
“Well, I am sorry, I didn’t realize.” She crosses her arms. “Does this mean the butt plug warmer I made is inappropriate?”
I choke on air. My mother is going to kill me, I swear. She smirks, and I know she is just fucking with me.
I shake my head and smile back.
It’s been nearly twenty years since we ran away from my piece-of-shit biological father. She’s smiled plenty in the time since, but there is still a part of me that smiles because she’s smiling.
“You two are ridiculous.” Reed rolls their eyes and heads towards the games room.
“Is he okay?”
“They’re feeling a bit unsettled with suddenly having another brother.”
“Shit, I’ll hang out with him later,” I promise her.
“You’re a good boy,” she says, pulling me into a hug. I will never say no to a mom hug.
“Have you heard from Kenny?” I ask as the man himself bursts through the doors.
“Does no one in your family open doors like a normal fucking person?” Jonas says, walking past me and behind the reception desk.
“Stella, I met him. I met my boy. He looks the spitting image of my pops fifty years ago.” Kenny says, running over to us and lifting Mom in a bear hug before twirling her. “He rides a [bike], he has a best friend called Max, he’s gay, and he is going to come and stay and get to know us all.”
I can’t help smiling like an idiot. Kenny deserves all the good things, and it sounds like Nicky is an excellent thing.
“When’s he coming?” Rex asks.
“Monday,” Kenny replies before turning to me. “I want to give him the room next to yours to stay in if that’s okay? I’d like you to look out for him while he’s here.”
“Of course. I’ll take good care of him.”
Kenny is the best judge of character. If he likes someone, you know they’ll be good people.
“Thanks, kid.” Kenny beams. “I’m so fucking happy it went well. Maybe he’ll love living here and want to stay. He could join the club and be our tech guy.”
“Tech guy?” I try not to get too excited. “He’s good with computers. Designs websites and some other stuff.”
“Uh oh,” someone says behind me. I don’t give two fucks, I’m ecstatic.
“Ignore them. Clearly, the universe is smiling down on me today.” I tell my mom and Kenny. “I met the man of my dreams last night, and I need to find him. Nicky can help. Oh, it can be his club initiation instead of having to prospect.”
A lot of MCs have prospects. It’s like probation for usually six months to a year to see if that person would make a good club brother. They generally do the grunt work around the clubhouse. We currently have two; Jonus and Dai.
“Booker, if I didn’t let you out of prospecting, I’m not going to let Nicky. If he even wants to.”
“Aw, Kenny, I love you too,” I give him a hug. I know I don’t call Kenny dad, but he really is a dad to me. He’s never treated Reed differently to me or made me feel other.
“Now, tell me about this guy.”
“He’s so dreamy. He is seriously the hottest guy I’ve ever met, and he’s funny. We had the best sex ever, and I’m obsessed with his nipples.”
Kenny frowns slightly like he’s trying to figure out how to process my words. “Right, well, I’m happy for you. That you met someone. What’s his name?”
“I don’t fucking know. Absolutely no clue, which is why I need Nicky to help me find him.”
“Okay, well, we can ask him when he comes to family dinner next week.”
“That is all so wonderful,” says Mom, bouncing again. “Booker has a new guy, Kenny, another son. It’s a great day.”
“Okay, but Booker’s guy might not feel the same way as Booker does. So maybe we need to prepare for that?” Jet says, in what I think is meant to be his nice nurse voice, but right now just sounds condescending.
“He wants to be found. Trust me.” He doesn't look convinced. “I’m going to leave now, but not because I think you could be right, and I don’t want to hear it. I just need to go check in at the shop.”
I say my goodbyes as I leave and head to the shop.
I know that Nipples felt the connection, too. He had to. That was more than mind-blowing sex, and I really wish I knew why he didn’t leave his number.
Doesn’t matter, I will find him.
I really can’t wait for Nicky’s arrival.
