11. Dom

I pull into Breaker's driveway and groan under my breath. I hold my head down and pinch the bridge of my nose, my fingers pushing my sunglasses up slightly. Thea's car is here. Seeing her, after beating off to the fantasy of fucking her ass while making her scream that she belongs to me, is not going to be easy. I hope like hell I don't get a hard-on while I talk to her.

Jesus.

Before I have a chance to get off my ride, Raze comes out. He pushes his hand through his hair. The bastard acts like he's barely gotten out of bed. This Flame chick must be one hell of a woman. I never thought I'd see my brother so wrapped up over a woman.

"Finally drag your ass out of bed, motherfucker?" I drawl. "You look like shit. Why'd you have me meet you at Breaker's?"

Raze laughs and gives me the finger. "I practically live here now," he answers, confusing the hell out of me. Is he sharing his woman with Breaker? Huh… Breaker never seemed like that type. Then again, I'm not the type and apparently, I shared with T. Fuck, that burns.

Breaker comes out drinking coffee and Raze looks at him. "You could have brought me some of that."

"Motherfucker, I'm letting your ass practically live here and I haven't killed you. I don't have to share my coffee with you, too," he growls.

I smirk. I guess Breaker isn't happy with Raze being there. This Flame must be another club bitch trying to cause trouble between brothers. I'm going to have to talk to Raze today. I don't want him to make the same mistakes I've made. I start to say something when Breaker's front door opens.

"Flame, your brother is being an asshole and not sharing his coffee."

My heart fucking stops. Thea comes out in a pair of tight jeans and a black T-shirt with bright white writing on the front that reads, try me. Her strawberry hair with natural curls is hanging midway down her back. Her golden skin is soft and tempting in the early morning light. She walks over to her brother and gives him a quick kiss on his cheek. "Are you being grumpy, Mattie?" He grunts, making Thea giggle. Fuck, why have I never noticed that the woman giggles before? "Here, honey, you can have mine. I'll pick some up on campus," she says as she walks over to Raze.

"Thank you, sweet stuff," Raze murmurs as he takes Thea in his arms. She lifts her hand and scratches her fingers through his beard that he's starting to grow. It takes physical effort not to growl at seeing the way they are with one another. It also hurts knowing she's calling him honey, with her voice all soft and shit.

Fuck, I'm in trouble.

"I'm going to miss you tonight," she whispers, still looking at him.

"You could always call and cancel," he suggests.

"No fucking way," Breaker barks. I will not be left alone with my parents and Skylar. It's not happening."

Thea laughs outright. "I wouldn't do that to you, Mattie. Although it amazes me that our little sister could terrify you considering you're training to be an enforcer for the most feared club around."

Breaker gets a weird look on his face. If I hadn't been watching the two of them so closely, I would have missed it. He wipes it from his face a second later and gives Thea a scolding look she ignores.

"I could leave you alone with her," he says mildly.

"You try it and I'll show you this nifty trick my big brother showed me. With one move, I can make sure a man never has children."

Everyone but me laughs. I'm still trying to process everything. There's a bitterness in the pit of my stomach that is threatening to overtake me.

"Have a good day today, Flame. Check in."

"I'll see what I can do," she laughs.

"I didn't know you were going to the university here," I finally speak up, forcing myself to talk.

Thea looks at me as if she just now realized I was there. Chances are, she did. It seems Raze has all her attention. How in the hell did I miss the fact that Thea is the woman my brother is so wrapped up in?

"Hey, Dom. How are you doin'?"

I nod. Not sure what to say. I'm not good. Not fucking good at all. "Apparently behind on things. You stayin' in Kentucky?"

"Yeah. Today's my first day at school. Getting that business and accounting degree Dad has been after me about."

I find myself nodding again like an idiot. I'm just not sure I can get my damn voice to work at the moment. So instead, the two of us just stare at one another.

"Raze?" Breaker calls, breaking the silence—thank God.

"Yeah?"

"Go get my cut. I'll ride with you two today."

Raze cocks an eyebrow up at him. "Dom and I don't need a babysitter."

"You questioning me?" he asks Raze.

Raze is treading on dangerous ground. Breaker is up for Enforcer. Right now, he's a Sergeant-at-Arms. It's a position that our club hasn't really had. We had a club traitor—Irish—a long time ago, who had that position, even if it was unofficial since he had other club duties, too. Because he betrayed us, we just never worried about filling that position. It happened before I was born, but I honestly think Dad only suggested we bring the position back to help train Breaker. The club is relying on him more and more and that means questioning him is bad for your health when you don't have a position in the club.

"I'll go get your cut," he mutters.

"I better head out," Thea responds, eyeing her brother.

"First, give me a kiss, Flame. I won't see you tonight. You've ruined my poker night. It's the least you can do."

"How did I not know you were such a big baby?" she laughs.

She kisses him, and I have to look away. Unfortunately, I lock eyes with Breaker, who looks at me with a smirk on his face. Dumbass.

I hear a car door close and look to see that Raze has walked her over. When he steps back, she looks out the window and waves. "See ya tonight, Mattie. Bye, Dom!"

I jerk my chin up—still not sure I can use my voice. Breaker gives her a wave. Raze looks over at me. "Be back in a minute," he says.

After he goes inside, Breaker and I have a stare down. Sadly, I'm the first one to break it. "You could have warned me, asshole."

"Why? It's not like you haven't made it clear to my baby sister that you didn't want her."

"She told you?" I ask, shocked.

"She didn't have to. All of us knew the score."

Well, fuck. "Thea's made for bigger things than being an old lady, Breaker. You know that."

"If it's the life she wants, she could do worse. It sure as hell couldn't be worse than that dumb fuck back in New York. Thea had to change her cell number to make him stop hounding her. She hasn't admitted it to me, but I'm sure he took his hands to her."

"When are we killing him?"

Breaker gives me a grin that borderlines evil. It's the look I've seen him give right before he goes in for the kill.

"Soon."

"So, you're down with Raze claiming her?" I ask, still trying to wrap my head around all this shit.

"If she's happy. Honestly, I think she is a perfect fit in our life. Dad and Dragon are setting her up to take over the books for our businesses. She's happy here. Raze sees her worth. He's cleaned up his act. Dad gave his blessing."

"Motherfucker," I hiss. His words hit like a punch to the gut. Right now, I can't fucking breathe.

Breaker looks at me and that damn smirk is back on his ugly-ass face. "Bother you? Then, I guess you should try to do something about it before she lets Raze in her heart."

"You saying you'd be okay with your sister being my old lady?" I ask, shocked as hell.

"If it makes Thea happy and you step up to protect her. I don't have an issue."

"Break—"

"Dad might, but I don't," he adds, laughing.

I smile, despite feeling like I've fallen down a motherfucking rabbit hole. "I wouldn't move in on Raze. That's not cool. I'm busting my ass to be better—to do better."

"Raze isn't ready to settle down. He's still hurting over Lilianna—even if he won't admit it. A good woman could cure that hurt eventually, though. So, if you're going to make a move, you should do it now."

"When did you become a matchmaker?"

"Screw you. I just want Thea to be happy. She deserves that." I nod, but I don't say anything. Breaker goes and gets on his bike and looks over at me. "One thing, Dom."

"What's that?"

"Don't start shit if you're still hung up on that spoiled bitch. I won't have my sister hurt again."

My jaw tightens and I swallow down my response. Before I say something I shouldn't—like telling him to mind his own fucking business—Raze comes back out and hands Breaker his cut.

"What'd I miss?" he asks, obviously picking up on the tension between Breaker and me.

"Breaker telling me stupid jokes," I mumble as Raze gets on his bike.

"Breaker never jokes," he argues.

"That's why they were stupid."

"You girls get done talking, we've got work to do," Breaker says, over the raking of the pipes of his bike. Raze and I start ours up and we head out. I do it while trying not to think of Thea.

I fail completely…
