Epilogue
EPILOGUE
Amelia
After I moved into Sam’s New York penthouse, he proposed to me a year later.
Here we are today, February fourteenth and it’s our wedding day. How could we marry each other anywhere but the Magnolia Hotel— the place that changed our lives?
Mia hands me my bridal bouquet made up of red and white roses and tufts of baby’s breath. Very similar to the bouquet that brought us back together.
“You look beautiful.” Mia straightens the train on my gown. “It’s wonderful seeing you so happy. You’re absolutely glowing.”
I hug Mia. She’s been with me through all my ups and downs. My financial crisis, my temporary break-up with Sam.
It’s a small wedding with only one attendant. Sam has his brother Steve by his side and Mia is my maid of honor.
My father walks me down the white runner and I suck in a breath as I pass by my closest family and friends.
The man I love is waiting for me at the end of the aisle. The only man for me.
Hugs and kisses forever. XOXO.
Sam
The moment I’d been waiting for since elementary school. Amelia coming down the aisle in her white taffeta gown. She’s so beautiful with her hair pulled up and her veil cascading down her back. What a vision my future wife is.
I can’t wipe the smile off my face as I see her on her father’s arm as she approaches me.
“Who gives this woman?”
“Her mother and I,” her father answers.
Amelia’s father wraps his arms around his daughter, his eyes filled with tears. Amelia’s father gives me a firm pat on the back and a handshake. He joins our hands together, kisses his daughter on the cheek, and takes a seat next to his wife.
I look down at our joined hands and back at Amelia’s radiant face.
“I love you,” she mouths to me.
“I love you too.”
I still can’t believe I get to wake up every morning for the rest of my life with this perfect woman.
My XOXO Valentine.
