CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO
TORI
THE ARGUMENT WITH MY ENEMY
“ T ori, this is not the place for a fight,” Ezra stated in my earpiece.
He was right. This was my place of employment. I also didn’t want to be questioned about her disappearance once I got rid of this bitch once and for all.
A smile lifted her lips. “If you think about laying a hand on me, you should rethink that.” She stabbed a thumb over her shoulder. “You see, the man standing near the elevators?”
My eyes landed on the lean man dressed in dark jeans, a navy t-shirt, and a dark cap hiding his mahogany complected face. He revealed his hand. His thumb hovered over the button on a gadget.
Shit, the motherfucker is holding a detonator.
My heart slammed against my ribcage. Rage and fear gripped me. This sneaky, conniving, wicked bitch.
“Another of my guys is on the left side of the building, ready to blow this place to smithereens,” Tyra added.
I folded my arms over my chest and slid my left hand over my chin. Her eyes widened when they landed on my wedding ring.
“Tori, you need to inch toward the door,” Ezra urged in my earpiece. Ezra stood near the door wearing a hat low, shielding his face. He stared at his phone screen. He hid his identity because we never knew what trouble we’d run into. When Bianca returned, she could handle security footage issues.
Ezra was right, but I had to talk to this bitch for a moment.
Tyra’s hands curled at her sides. “You’re engaged to who?” she asked with a sneer.
She had to know I was married to Ritchie, but had to hear me say it.
“I’m married to the man you flirted with.” I pointed to the ceiling. “You know, just upstairs where you basically begged to ride his dick,” I growled.
She tilted her head to the side. “Aww, are you still bothered that he pretended not to be interested? I bet he would’ve fucked me too if he could’ve gotten away with it.”
My blood boiled under my skin.
“Don’t let her get to you. Remember the guests in the hotel. Let her go. You’ll see her again and end her,” Ezra stated in the earpiece.
“You always were delusional, Tyra.”
Her top lip inched upward at my statement. Looked like I struck a nerve.
“You had a man who worshiped the ground you walked on. And what did you do? Cheated on him with that white guy.”
“I never revealed to you the dreadful truths that tethered me to him. It wasn’t affection. It was obligation.”
“He gave you everything, Tori. You were his cherished princess.” Tears welled up in her eyes.
I knew she envied my life. But I didn’t realize how much until we had to take her out.
“The things he provided for me were superficial. It was all about appearances. We hadn’t had sex in years. He would please me orally, but that was it.”
Her eyes narrowed. “You deprived him of sex. No wonder he was fucking me.”
I chuckled. “That doesn’t bother me. He was bisexual.”
She burst into a fit of laughter. “He couldn’t have been,” Tyra snapped angrily.
“Let’s see. He was fucking my cousin Reece for years. They were a couple, which is why Man-Man allowed me to see other men. However, he would always intervene and remove any man who wanted a relationship with me. He didn’t want anyone ruining our arrangement. He had to keep up the facade of being in a relationship with me. But you see, Cliff wasn’t for that bullshit. He wanted me so he took me.”
I got tingles up and down my spine just thinking about Ritchie.
She absentmindedly played with a long red curl on her perfectly styled lace front wig. I could see her wheels turning. “It’s too bad your muscle-bound Ken doll didn’t bite it in last week’s explosion.”
“Tori,” Ezra’s voice warned through my earpiece.
I felt myself inch toward her, ready to swing on her ass.
A sly grin spread across my face.
A smile curled my lips. “The way he fucked me this past weekend on our wedding night was fucking toe curling.” I ran my tongue over my lips, enjoying the reaction I was getting from her.
It was her turn to look as if she wanted to pounce on me.
“What else did you come to say to me...Tyra?” I said her name through gritted teeth.
“You threw me off a boat and left me for dead. The revenge I have planned for you and our other so-called best friends will be...” Her smile turned sinister. “...will be brain crushing,” she chuckled.
“Yeah, I see different parts...” My eyes moved up and down her frame, letting her know I was talking about her body parts without incriminating myself. “... taking a trip to the bottom of the ocean by way of cinder blocks.” I threw my head back laughing.
“You grimy hood rat bitch,” she snarled, stalking closer with venom in her voice.
“Brennen, send it up in flames now,” she demanded.
My heart pounded painfully against my ribs as an icy chill shot down my spine.
Fuck! My mind screamed, panic seizing me in its iron grip.
This bitch was planning to blow up the entire hotel, and I was trapped with nowhere to escape.
