CHAPTER TWENTY

R eally? Not one message? Not one... ugh, it doesn’t matter.

Sage shifted the bags on her hips and pulled out her key.

I don’t care.

She had a date with Carl on Wednesday, so why was she thinking about Ari? It was clear he wasn’t going to call, so it was better to just let it go.

Tony and Teresa had been suspiciously vacant since Sunday morning when they’d asked if she was having company over again. Which may or may not have been as a result of the loud sex she’d had with Ari.

“Yes, we’ll be staying in,” Sage had lied, and by early afternoon the two of them had left to stay at Teresa’s for the night. She had no regrets.

“Shit.” Sage nearly dropped the bags of groceries she’d bought on the way home, as she reached into the lock with her key.

“I gotcha,” a familiar voice said at her elbow.

Shocked, she did drop the bags this time, but Oliver caught them, giving her a ginormous grin.

“Oliver. Hi.” Her face heated.

“Oh, I’ve missed those pretty pink cheeks.” He ran the back of his fingers over her cheek, which Sage figured had now turned bright red.

“Are you going to invite me in?” Oliver asked.

“What are you doing here?” she asked. “I mean, it’s nice to see you, but—”

“I lost a key, and it’s kind of important, so I thought I’d check it didn’t drop out of my pockets while we were enjoying ourselves the other night.”

“Oh,” Sage said. Talking about it standing out in the street felt totally uncomfortable. She pushed the key into the lock and opened the door. “Sure, come on in.”

Oliver placed the groceries on the table and looked around. Then she watched him wander over to the dining room table. He turned and gave her a wink. “So how are you doing?”

“Good. You?” She smiled.

God, he was gorgeous.

He was just as she had remembered, but his thighs were larger, or perhaps they just looked larger in the blue denim. His chest, though, was just as solid and broad. Her fingers twisted in front of her while wanting to touch him again.

It was so confusing that she could feel this way even as part of her was dying to hear from Ari.

And then there was Carl.

He didn’t make her feel this way at all. No butterflies, no racing heart, no twitching fingers.

Oliver bent down and looked under the table. “I’m very good. I, well, not so good. I need this key.”

Sage frowned and walked over to start helping him look. “Is the key that important?”

Crouching, Oliver looked so out of place. His large thighs were stretched so taut in his jeans she couldn’t tell if he was semi, or fully, hard. She licked her lips as she took in his giant body like he was a melting ice-cream.

“Eyes up, sweetheart.” Oliver grinned.

“Sorry.” Sage smiled, embarrassed. God, it was so inappropriate of her to be staring at him like this.

“And yes, this key is very important, it turns out.”

“What does it look like?” she asked.

“Key-ish.”

She dropped onto her knees in front of him. “Oli?”

“Yes, Sage?” He smirked but tried to be serious.

“Is there really a key?”

“Why else would I be here?” Oliver asked, reaching out to brush her hair from her shoulder. “Can you think of a reason?”

Sage’s eyes darted around the room, then back to the gorgeous man in front of her. Oliver was different to Ari. Playful, cheeky, and dangerously so.

“Why did you leave?” she asked, suddenly, and Oliver slid to his knees, bringing them closer.

His eyes darkened. “I had no choice, but I’m here now because I had to see you again,” he replied softly. “Do you want to finish what we started?”

Sage swallowed and tugged her lower lip between her teeth. She was so confused.

Why hadn’t Ari messaged her? He’d said he would. And why the hell did it feel like she was cheating on him being here with Oliver?

And what about Carl?

Oliver brushed her hair off her face, and she felt her panties moisten.

Oh God.

“You’re thinking about Ari,” Oliver said.

She nodded.

He slid his hand around the back of her neck and lifted her to her feet. Sage felt mesmerized by Oli’s size and presence. She wanted him, there was no doubt, but this entire situation was confusing.

“Sage, look at me,” Oliver said and lowered his lips to hers, lifting her and carrying her into her bedroom. “I’ve been thinking about doing this since the moment I left.”

Oliver’s jacket dropped to the ground.

“Tell me to go and I will.”

His hand went behind his head, and he ripped off his t-shirt.

Holy shit.

Sage had seen him before, but the entire night seemed like a blur. Oliver had a lot more tattoos than Ari and was slightly shorter. Which still made him tall as hell. His muscles were incredibly defined and golden.

“Touch me,” Oliver said, and with no hesitation she reached out and ran her hand over his abdominal muscles.

“You are so hard.”

“Oh baby, you have no fucking idea,” Oliver ground out, closing his eyes, then he popped the button on his jeans and slid the zip down.

He was commando.

Out popped his cock, and Jesus, it was beautiful.

She licked her lips without thinking and Oliver groaned, cupping her face. “Yeah baby. You can have it all. But first, let’s get these off.”

Oliver lifted her off the ground and her clothes seemed to vanish in seconds. He nudged her onto the bed and pushed her back, spreading her wide.

“Oli,” she said, half-sitting.

“Yes, gorgeous?” He slid his fingers into her pussy. “Fuck, you are soaking.”

“What about Ari? Is this, okay? I mean, I haven’t talked to him.” Sage felt like an idiot.

Oliver watched her for a moment.

“Are you okay with it?” Oliver asked, leaning into her pussy and with his tongue licked her in one long delicious sweep.

Sage moaned and lay back, not bothering to answer. There was no way she could say no to Oliver, and it was how she’d met Ari. Neither of them had committed to one another, so she was free to date and sleep with whoever she wanted.

As was he.

She just...

“I wish he was here, too,” she said finally, and Oliver moved over her, his cock eager at her entrance.

“If you want me to stop I will,” Oliver said, “At any point. But fuck Sage, I really fucking want my cock inside you. Tell me you want that, too.”

She couldn’t lie.

Sage nodded, arching into him. “God, I really do.”

Oliver pressed inside her and they both let out a loud cry. He began to move, his eyes on hers, as he thrust hard. “Fuck, you are gorgeous, Sage.”

God, and so was he.

Sage gripped his biceps, well aware this was fucking. There was no love involved, as the two of them enjoyed the way they made each other’s bodies feel incredible.

Yet with Ari...

Stop Sage, it’s over.

She was on her knees with Oli wrapped around her when she came and felt a sharp sting on the back of her neck. She jumped, but his fingers found her clit and all thought vanished from her mind. Oliver pulled them down to the bed and rolled onto his side, catching his breath, and he smiled down at her.

“Would you look at that? I found the key.”

Sage let out a small laugh. “How am I the key?”

Oliver stiffened and tilted his head, then lowered his mouth to hers in a kiss. “Incoming.”

She frowned. She hadn’t heard anything, but when she turned her head, there was someone standing in the doorway.

A very large and devastatingly handsome someone.

“Hello, Sage.”
