29. Chapter Twenty-Seven
Chapter Twenty-Seven
T he Dragon Skulls Clubhouse was basically a bar. It wasn't like the house where the Chained Devils hung out. There weren't many vehicles beyond the motorcycles. Just a truck and two cars, which meant there were people partying who didn't belong to the club.
"Do they always have nonmembers inside?" Mitchell asked as he pulled into a parking lot.
"They charge for nonmembers now." Seryn got off first, waiting for Mitchell. He wore his cut with nothing beneath it. The leather pants hugged his ass to the point Mitchell wanted to take them off and bend him over the bike seat.
Mitchell held Seryn around the waist, under his vest, so he touched skin. "You're hot, baby."
Seryn leaned into him. "I want to ride you again, Daddy."
Yeah. They could make that happen. "We'll say hi to Daruss and the others and then find a corner somewhere."
The music bumped even before they got inside. It was dance music, which meant there were probably a lot of half-naked people grinding on each other. It was Mitchell's experience that the heavy rock was saved for the serious conversations.
Mitchell grabbed his wallet, intending to hand over money to the guy at the door. But all the guy did was shake his head. "No charge."
Instead of arguing about how he wasn't a member, he kept his mouth shut.
The guy ginned when he met Seryn's gaze. "How are you, Seryn?"
"I'm well. Thanks for asking. How are you, Izzy?"
Izzy raised his eyebrows as if something Seryn said surprised him. "You're better, then."
"Better than what?" Seryn plastered on a fake smile. "Learn to recognize your truth. For your mates' sake, Izzy."
"Guess you're not better."
Vision?
Yes. Of Izzy fucking it all up for himself. Seryn never took his gaze off Izzy, so when he spoke aloud, it was directed at him. "Think whatever you like."
Izzy sighed. "I don't have it in me to decipher whatever that was."
"I would think not, considering you have one problem already and another one coming your way soon." Seryn turned to Mitchell, giving him the puppy dog eyes. "I like dancing. Do you, Daddy?"
"I'll dance with you as long as you rub all over me." Sign Mitchell up for that. Please and thank you.
As they entered, Izzy called after them. "I have questions, Seryn."
"I won't answer them, Izzy." He spoke in a singsong way.
His eyes had to adjust to the dim light when they entered. There weren't just half-naked people inside, but a couple were fully naked. Some were even fucking against the back wall.
Mitchell wanted to bleach his eyeballs when he saw Jude dancing with Raylee and Daruss. Daruss was fully clothed, but Jude was in a thong and Raylee was in some glittery, sparkly underwear. Daruss had Jude in front of him and Raylee rubbed all over Jude. Mitchell would bet they took turns grinding on Daruss.
And God, why was he thinking about that? He needed a drink to drown out the image.
Seryn pulled him toward the bar where a nearly naked man served drinks. Another guy served the other end of the bar and a cute dark-haired man fiddled with a phone.
"Is he a shifter?" The naked bartender asked.
"No. Human. He's just big. He's drinking light."
The bartender nodded. "Water like usual, Seryn?"
"Daruss mentioned Ronin making a nonalcoholic soda. I would like to try it, please."
The bartender frowned and studied Seryn as if he were seeing him for the first time. "Are you okay, man?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you. How are you?" Being asked about his health a second time annoyed Seryn. Mitchell could feel it through their bond.
The bartender smiled and waved his hand back and forth. He put a glass filled with some sort of brown liquid and another with something red, setting them on the counter in front of them.
"You seem better than fine." The bartender glanced at Mitchell. "Five bucks for the whiskey."
Whiskey was a light drink?
"He's a member," Daruss yelled across the bar.
The bartender nodded and waved them off. "Tip jar then."
When they turned, Daruss pointed to a sitting area in the far corner of the room.
Mitchell put money in the jar before heading over to where Daruss had indicated. They waited for Daruss, Jude, and Raylee.
Jude hugged Mitchell before pulling Raylee onto the couch.
Mitchell sat before pulling Seryn onto his lap.
Daruss sat next to Raylee. He leaned over and whispered something to Jude and Raylee. They nodded, but whatever he said made Jude pout. "Can I touch his nipples?"
"Not yet."
Mitchell raised his eyebrows. "Jude, if you make out in front of me, then Seryn and I will fuck in front of you."
Jude huffed. "Daddy already told us no. So don't worry."
"I said later. Not no." Daruss met Mitchell's gaze. "The way I hear it, you shut down all the fighting rings in Duchester. Crippled all the major players. Now it's a national investigation. Have you watched the news lately?"
Mitchell grinned and winked at Jude, who looked about as proud as he ever was of Mitchell. "Yep. Second time I've caused a stir."
"You made headlines, man."
"Well, I didn't, but Davorion definitely did." And Mitchell couldn't say enough about how glad he was that the asshole was behind bars. And a dead man walking too.
Daruss threw a cut at Mitchell.
Seryn caught it and handed it to him. Mitchell was weary about accepting it. Cuts meant Daruss would make him a member, but accepting it wasn't easy. He'd have to jump through hoops first. "What do I have to do to earn it?"
"Since Seryn will kill me if I jump you in, keep Ronin's stash at your house. He's having trouble keeping the cops at bay." Since the cops let Mitchell get beat up in an interrogation room, they'd leave him alone for a long while.
"I'll even pick it up if he wants me too."
Seryn lifted Mitchell's hand and kissed his palm. "Daddy's cop proof now."
Mitchell chuckled. "And you're a very sexy boy."
Jude shook his head. "I can't believe you found someone who likes your weirdness, Mitchie."
Mitchell grinned. "I'm a lucky man."
I'm a lucky vampire warlock.
He kissed Seryn's cheek. "I owe Seryn a dance."
And I want to ride you. Don't forget.
Oh, I won't forget.
"Thanks for making me part of the Skulls' family." Mitchell hadn't ever been included before. Not to the extent Daruss had included him. And he had done little to earn it. That level of acceptance wasn't something he was used to.
"You trusted me with your brother. That makes us family." Daruss had to have meant when Mitchell had sent him there almost a year ago. Mitchell had needed someone safe, and he'd taken a chance. He was glad it paid off.
