Epilogue
M alorie
Nervous excitement filled me. My perfect man gifted me with a trip across East Asia. Like I said I wanted to do, we were going to be visiting China, Japan, and then Korea. I was surprised he was even willing to take six months off from work, but after he created a painting of deceased Hip Hop greats that a rapper paid five million dollars for, Neko wanted to celebrate.
The fact that he wanted to celebrate by going across the world with me only made me love him more. I was convinced nothing could make this day, this trip better. The only thing I wasn't looking forward to was the long ass trip it would take for us to get there.
"All right, babe. I think that's everything," I said, heading out of my bedroom.
"Okay, perfect. We got a little time left before we have to get to the airport, and I need to get something from my place."
I chuckled as I cut my lights out. "See. You talked all that mess about me forgetting something and look at you."
"Yeah, yeah. Just bring ya ass."
He took my hand and led me out of my apartment as I laughed. It took me nearly three days to try and figure out how and what I wanted to pack. I wasn't going to pack a lot because I planned to shop while there, but I still wanted a capsule wardrobe that I could rock when we first arrived.
It didn't take us long to get to Neko's place. When we arrived, he asked me to come help him look for his charger. Had I known that's what he'd come back for, I would have told him we could get that at the airport. We'd come back, though, so I got out to help him look.
"Oh shit," I whimpered when we made it into his living room. He'd surprised me. There were candles and rose petals everywhere. There were three musicians in the living room playing the keyboard, harp, and violin. My eyes blurred as Neko walked me over to the roses in the shape of a heart.
"You keep saying nothing can make this trip better, but I disagree." He kneeled, and my tears immediately began to fall. "You being my fiancée and agreeing to be my wife will make it perfect." Neko reached into his pocket and pulled out the prettiest pear shaped ring I'd ever seen in my life. "I love you more than anything or anyone in this world. You're my heart in human form. God's most beautiful work of art. You're a masterpiece, bae, and I vow to cherish you for the rest of my life. Will you do me the immense honor of being my wife?"
I couldn't stop the eruption of laughter that erupted from me. "Yes!" I yelled, bouncing from one foot to the other. "Oh my God, yes!"
After sliding the ring onto my finger, Neko stood, and we embraced. He tried to kiss me, but I was smiling so hard that was nearly impossible. I certainly wasn't expecting to start this trip engaged, but this was just another way Neko proved just how perfect he was for me.
