Epilogue

Dearest Colin,

By the time you receive this letter, I may have perhaps crossed the border into Scotland in my elopement adventure to marry Lord Barlow. I am marrying the viscount because I love him, and he loves me most passionately. Thank you for trusting me to follow my heart. I might not return to town for a couple of weeks, but you can be assured I will be happily wed. David insists our vows will not only be exchanged over the anvil, and I happily compromised and agreed to two ceremonies. The announcement of our engagement has been sent to the papers, and I grant you leave to inform mama to plan a small wedding upon our return from Scotland.

Your sister,

Emma Fairbanks

Colin laughed and called for his family to celebrate the news and to toast the happy couple. Emma had shown herself to be a ‘very bad Fairbanks' and they all loved her despite her impetuous marriage.

Thankyou for reading The Scoundrel you Know!
