Chapter 31
Chapter Thirty-One
REMY
S o close.
"You're almost there," my dad grunts over my shoulder.
My fingers fly as fast as possible because every second my friend is missing, a new scenario of what's happening to him is added to the fucked up list.
I don't have much to go on with the emails I pulled from Ronan's laptop, which made us think most of their communication was through phone calls. It has really thrown a fucking wrench in our plans.
My mom, dad and I have split our attention the past few days. My dad focusing on getting the location and information on the academy Ronan went to and my mom on the two new missing persons reports. One male alpha and male beta have been reported missing.
And guess where their last known location was?
The Premium Designation fucking Academy.
My pinky cramps on another slam of the return key, just as my dad sucks in a gasp of air.
"I'VE GOT IT!" I roar, alerting every agent near my office, including my mom.
Dad curses, rushing from the room with his phone to his ear and is quickly replaced by mom's wide eyes hovering over my laptop.
"Shit, Rem, good work!" she praises, but I don't feel all the warm bubblies right now. "Grab your equipment, notes, and that laptop."
"My laptop?" I ask, bustling around my desk, my heart thumping in my throat.
"Yep! We need all the information we can get, and that's going to have to happen on the way to Montana. Those boys that landed on my desk a few days ago, there is nothing to indicate they ever left that godforsaken school. No family members or friends have heard from them. They are clearly loved and are expected to make contact and they haven't," she explains as I follow her out of my office.
Locking the door behind me, I throw my backpack with my files and tech around my shoulder. "So, they didn't leave after graduation."
Mom nods, slamming her office door and locking it as well. "Or they were trafficked right from their gates."
I curse, following her into the elevator. "You think?"
"I think we have no idea where these kids are, and I know someone in that fucking school knows something." She flicks her eyes up from her phone, making eye contact with me just as we hit the basement level. "And now a staff member is missing. Something's going on and that academy is at the center of it."
I grit my jaw and give my mom a stiff nod. I have to stay focused and professional. My friend is enduring god knows what, and my job is to make this mission as seamless as possible.
Information .
"Suit up," my dad's voice rumbles through the basement, gaining at least twenty agents' attentions. More men and women will do the same in other stations located throughout the vast weapons floor of our bureau.
I dress as the other teams do, in tactical gear with a large bag holding the rest of my gear and weapons. The time for final planning will be in the air as I'm pulling everything from the academy that I can.
Students and now a teacher are missing. We've had two weeks to build our plan of action, now we just need final details and to fucking get there.
There are children on that property. New alphas, omegas, and betas at the hands of the unknown.
This, this is what the OPS is meant for. Rescuing not only omegas, but lost alphas and betas too.
My first mission and it's for my best fucking friend and his students. Never once did I think this would be a possibility, but I'm the best for the job.
I know Ronan, and he knows me.
Sending my thoughts into the universe, I hope they reach my friend. I'm coming for you, brother, but I bet you already knew that.
