The Weekend After Christmas

I was souncomfortable in my own body. I couldn't wait to have my baby. The fact that I was even pregnant right now was crazy to me. We certainly weren't trying, so I knew my baby was a gift from God. At thirty-two weeks pregnant, I felt I was slightly prepared. Dauterive had her baby two months ago, and Aries had hers four months ago. Innvy and I were pregnant at the same time, and I think that was what made this most special.

Neither Merc nor I wanted to fly for the babymoon, so he asked me where I wanted to go that was within driving distance. After I had the baby, he told me he would take me anywhere in the world. I'd finally decided where I wanted to go, and when I went to find him and tell him, I got the shock of my life.

It wasn't just the fact that he was sitting behind his piano playing, praying, and worshipping God. It was the fact that he was praying over our baby's sonogram. And his voice was so beautiful. I thought he couldn't sing because of how horrible he sounded that night for drunk karaoke, but Merc had a beautiful voice.

Tears immediately filled my eyes as he ran his fingers over the sonogram and thanked God for our baby girl. I didn't think there was a side to this man that could surprise me at this point, but I was happy and honored to be wrong. I was truly the luckiest woman alive to be with Mercury. He was the perfect mix of nasty and sweet, kind and rough, gangster yet gentle… and spiritual yet savage as fuck.

Wiping my tears, I walked into our music room with a smile on my face that nothing would be able to wipe off. I wrapped my arms around his neck and placed a kiss on his cheek near the corner of his mouth. With a smile of his own, Merc placed me on his lap and continued to play and sing. He led my hands to the piano, and I continued his melody as he rubbed my belly and hummed against my neck. Hums turned into kisses that made me squirm and giggle as I thanked God for this amazing change in my life.
