Matthew was sleeping, and Ruth was writing. I decided to shower while it was quiet. I was washing my hair when an arm went around me. I smiled because I knew it was my husband. He had been giving me that look since I walked into the kitchen.
"Do you like this," he whispered in my ear as his hand went between my thighs. At first, I thought it was wrong to enjoy my husband so much until he assured me it was natural for a husband and wife. So now I enjoy every moment I have with him.
"I love it when you make me feel like this," I said. His hands went to my swollen stomach.
"How is our baby girl doing?"
"She can't wait to join us. She loves you singing her songs, just like I love it."
"You do know I still can't sing right, sweetheart."
"I will always love hearing you sing to me. I couldn't help but make a sound as he inserted another finger, and his thumb found my soft spot. I writhed in pleasure, attempting to stifle my cries but failing as he continued his intimate exploration.
His lips claimed mine, swallowing the pleasure-filled sounds as he moved in and out of me. I was burning with desire for him. I wanted him deep inside me. Then he picked me up and slid his hard erection inside me; his kiss covered my screams of pleasure as I orgasmed, and then he moved faster as he let out his cry of pleasure.
"Tell me what Steel did with the lawyer," I asked after we dressed.
"He said he was locking him up. Let's not ever talk about him again. Tell Ruth not to talk about him. I don't want the police taking her in for questioning."
"Okay, I'll tell her." He looked into my eyes, and I could tell he made a decision.
"That lawyer is the one who ordered your family's death. He is the one who wanted that property. He saw it when he met up with Delores's daughter. He told us all about it when we found him in the yard, trying to burn our house down with us in it."
"He wanted to kill Ruth and me. What if he comes back?"
"Sweetheart, he won't be back. Steel has taken care of him. He'll be locked up forever. You will never hear from him again."
"Why was he out of jail?"
"Because he knew people in the jail, those people will pay for letting him out. But we are
never going to mention him again."
"I'll never mention him again. Will you thank Steel for locking him up so he never gets out?"
"Yes, I'll tell him," he said. He leaned down and kissed me. I will keep you, Matthew, and Ruth safe. She can live here, and when we build our home, she will live with us."
"Yes, we will all live together. Do you think Shane will be lonesome when we build a house?"
"No, sweetheart, because we will always be in and out. He won't have time to be lonesome. We'll live right next door.
