BANG-BANG PLAY

Dessa

My heart jumps to my throat and I freeze. Glancing over Garrett's shoulder, I'm met with a fuming Jake glaring daggers at me. Realization smacks me in the face about what I'm doing, where I'm doing it, and who I'm doing it with. Also, my pants are on the floor and I'm sure Jake has a front-row view of Garrett's extremely toned ass.

"Fucking hell. Put your fucking clothes back on. Why the hell does everyone think they can have sex in my bar?" His heavy booted footsteps descend down the hallway.

Oh god, what did I do? I wanted it to happen, but not like this. Not with so much unsettled business between us. He can't stroll into town, kiss me, and expect our friendship to go back to how things were. It doesn't work like that.

With my palms on his chest, I shove him away. He stumbles, almost falling over since his pants are around his ankles. I'm such an idiot. As modestly as I can, I bend at the knees and swipe my pants from the floor before tugging them on.

"Hey! What was that for?" He yanks his pants over his hips, but not before I steal a glance at his still very hard and very big cock.

"You can't show up here and kiss me and expect everything to go back to normal." I storm past Garrett and out of the storage room. The only logical explanation for what happened is all the chaotic noise in my head regarding Garrett—and being confined in such a small room with him didn't help the situation either.

When I enter the bar, Jake's standing in the middle of the room with his arms crossed over his chest. "Thanks for coming to our rescue." I flash him a small smile, praying he forgets everything he witnessed tonight.

"Well, it wasn't the four in the morning wake-up call I was expecting, but when I got a notification that the lights were still on and the alarm wasn't set, I figured it was best I come here and check it out."

"Sorry. Garrett kicked the piece of wood holding the door open, and it trapped us in."

"And you thought you'd occupy your time by having sex in my storage room?" He quirks an eyebrow at me.

"We weren't having sex." But if he didn't walk in at that exact moment, I might be telling a different story.

He stares at me harder, willing the truth out of me.

"It's… complicated." That word makes me inwardly cringe. Damn Garrett for getting in my head.

"Whatever it was, don't let it happen again." He drops his arms. "I guess it's a good excuse to finally fix the door."

Garrett strolls into the bar area, tugging on his hoodie, and Jake peers up at him. "So, I take it you two worked everything out?"

"No," I blurt out.

"Yes," Garrett says at the same time.

My gaze slingshots toward him, my eyes widening because we most definitely did not work things out. If anything, we made things more complicated.

"I kind of thought we worked everything out." He shrugs.

I huff out a breath and shake my head. "I'll see you later," I say to Jake. Then I scoop my coat and wallet off the bar before strolling toward the exit.

"Don't I get a goodbye?" Garrett yells to my retreating frame.

I flash him my middle finger instead.

Once I'm in the parking lot, the chilly air instantly freezes my warm, clammy skin. I can't believe I did that. I was seconds away from lining up his cock with my entrance and impaling myself. Thoughts of his long, thick cock stretching me invade my head. Son of a bitch.

Last night, well, technically this morning, I went to bed thinking about Garrett, and now I'm lying in bed still thinking about him. It was a mistake. The only thing we accomplished was giving me an orgasm. Don't get me wrong, it was a great orgasm. Unexpected, but great, nonetheless. It's been way too long since I've had a non-self-produced orgasm. I got lost in the moment. That's all it was. My hatred for him hasn't changed, maybe slightly diminished, but there's still a lot we need to hash out, without the orgasms, before we can go back to being friends.

When he confessed he wanted to kiss me all those years ago, just as much as I wanted to kiss him—mind blown. Things could have turned out much differently, but they didn't. Now, it's like we're starting from the beginning.

Rolling my head to the side, I stare at the clock. I only have an hour until I need to be at work. Luckily, Jake only needs me for half a shift. Either way, I'd much rather lie in bed and contemplate my life choices. And by life choices, I mean Garrett.

When I arrive at Porter's, Nora's behind the bar and Lach's on the step stool preparing the board for the drink menu. Both their heads snap to me and freeze. Only a few customers are scattered around the room, and all of them are completely indifferent to my existence. I pull my sunglasses off my face and set them on top of my head. A smile spreads over Nora's lips as her clap slowly crescendos. Then Lach joins in.

"I hate you guys." I stroll the rest of the way into the bar. "My guess is that Jake already told you."

"He called me and asked if I could switch shifts and come in early because he had to come to the bar at four in the morning to find you getting it on in the storage room." A smug smile creeps over Lach's mouth.

"And then he told me as soon as I came in." Nora hikes her thumb at Lach. "See, I knew as soon as you two talked you would eventually bang it out and everything would be fine."

I roll my eyes. "We didn't bang. We accomplished nothing, actually."

"Because you were too busy banging," Nora sing-songs.

"I would consider a bang an accomplishment," Lach chimes in .

I blowout an exasperated sigh. I'm not winning this battle. With my white flag waving, I'm stepping away from this conversation.

"What's today's drink going to be called?" Lach asks. "Banging in the Storage Room?"

"Sliding into Home?" Nora quips.

"Oh, that's good." Lach points his chalk marker at Nora. "You got the baseball in there."

Nora smiles and nods proudly.

"Or Bang-Bang Play," Lach says.

"Rounding the Bases," Nora adds.

"What about Backdoor Slide?" Lach wiggles his eyebrows.

"How about You Both Suck?" I shrug.

Lach contemplates my answer by bobbing his head back and forth. "It's not really the vibe I'm going for."

"Wait!" Nora's eyes widen. "Was there backdoor action? You can tell us. We won't judge you." She playfully nudges me with her elbow.

"No! And if there was, I still wouldn't tell you." I shake my head. Not wanting to listen to them any longer, I strut across the bar and down the hallway to the employee room. I'm sure I'll have to hear about it for the rest of my shift. At my locker, I throw my purse inside. I was hoping for some reprieve from Garrett today, but that won't be happening. Damn Jake and damn Garrett for kissing me.
