Epilogue
A my rocked gently on the swing, her hands resting atop the gentle swell of her belly. A smile played on her lips as she watched the two boys she'd brought into the world chase each other through the yard, their laughter rising to meet the chirping birds overhead.
"Look at them go," Tim said, his hands lightly massaging Amy's shoulders from where he sat behind her.
"Like two little whirlwinds," Amy replied. She tilted her head back to gaze up into Tim's eyes. "I always dreamed of this, you know? A family...laughter and love filling the air."
Tim bent down, planting a tender kiss atop her head. "And now it's all real." As they watched, Ruby and Priscilla hurried over to their twin brothers, Jake and Luke. They helped them up and then invited them to play hide and seek, a game the twins had barely mastered.
"Thanks to you." Her hand found his, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You made my dreams come true, Tim."
"Sweetheart, we made them come true together." His thumb brushed a reassuring rhythm against her skin. "It's us, Amy. Always has been."
The porch swing creaked under their combined weight, a comforting, familiar sound that underscored their conversation. Life had blossomed around them, simple yet full, in the heart of the home they built together. And as the shadows lengthened with the setting sun, Amy and Tim remained, wrapped in the quiet joy of their madhouse in the middle of their own little world.
