Chapter 10

Chapter Ten

S couring the field, he took several hours to find the other two clovers he needed. Adding them to the trinket box, she nodded. “We should leave these in the fairy ring for the fae. This tasks is now complete.”

Moving up to her, he ran his fingers along her hairline and jaw as he looked down at her. “Having a chance to be with you is all I want. You’re all I think about. I look forward to when the sun goes down so I can be with you again. You’re all I desire, Angela.” He leaned forward to press his lips against hers.

Angela capitulated to him. It had been centuries since she had been desired, and she could feel his ardor in his kisses. His hands wrapped around her waist, pressing her close to his body. She wrapped her wings around them as her arms slipped around his neck. When she opened her wings again, they were beside the fairy ring.

His eyes were heavy, his bulge prominent. “I’m going to need a minute.” He pulled back, taking the trinket box from her hands.

Once he settled down, he went to the fairy ring. He was not about to enter it without the fairies' permission, so he set the trinket box comprising the ring on the stone wall. “Fairies of Emerald Isle, I’ve collected the four-leaf clovers. Tomorrow night, I will have the mead for you and hopefully some horseshoes.”

The trinket box shimmered out of sight, and after staring at the empty spot for a moment, he turned back to Angela. “Should we call it a night?”

Nodding, Angela beckoned him to return to her embrace so she could magically transport them back to his home.

“Stay with me,” he pulled her towards his bedroom.

“I’ll be stone soon,” she hesitated.

“Until then, you are still flesh and blood, and I want to hold you in my arms when I fall asleep.”

Frowning, she wasn’t sure what to do. “It’s highly impractical. And unusual.”

“As my guardian, you should stay with me and keep me as safe as possible.” He moved to her, nibbling her neck as he whispered the words in her ear. Bending down, he scooped her up bridal style once she had tucked her wings away and carried her into his bedroom.

He gazed at the clock. Shit. It was almost sunrise and soon she’d be stone. Sighing in exasperation and unrequited passion, he rolled alongside her and pulled her into his arms. “Good night, my good luck angel.”
