CHAPTER FOUR

JUSTIN

Four months later…

“Ignore him,” Ian, my race engineer said as I got ready to climb into the car for the first race of the season. Chase was still a dick, but he was acting more subdued since pre-season testing in January. Maybe because Kennedy and he were dating and she was keeping him in line. Thankfully, the interoffice romance didn’t afford any special privileges to him. If anything, she rode him harder.

And I found my joy in the car again.

“Have been.”

“Good.”

We qualified P3 behind Luc Rossetti and another car from Kylie And Zac LeCavlier’s team. Poor Chase was stuck on row four. Piece after piece of equipment piled on in the methodical order I’d done since my first race.

But something pricked at the back of my neck right before I put on my helmet. I turned.

And there she was. My dream girl. The crowd parted as Mia made her way to me, beautiful and stunning. She had a nervous smile on her face, and when the crowd parted, I saw why.

Her belly was slightly rounded under her hand. I made my way to her, and she looked up at me. “So, want to help me make some plans, and be a perfect gentleman?”

Fuck, all I’d done since that weekend was think of her, and do my best not to Google her every time I picked up my phone. “Hell, yes, dream girl.”
