Chapter 5
CHAPTER FIVE
HALLIE
Before I knew it, it was Aug 1st, and I was still in western North Carolina. Dylan and I were spending a lot of time together. I’d become a fixture at The Boilermaker, which he managed for his uncle. We spent a lot of time rendezvousing at the waterfall. My excuse for spending a lot of evenings in Asheville had been I’d met a few girls at the library, and we’d started to hang out. My father didn’t seem concerned. I suppose between his work schedule and the fact I wasn’t clamoring to go home appeased him. My Aunt Caroline had been in California for about a month when her mother-in-law had broken her hip. I thought it was very sweet that my aunt was still close to her husband’s mother though selfishly I was happy I didn’t have her around asking too many questions. Dylan and I didn’t talk about our families much. We seemed to exist in a bubble all our own. My mother, on the other hand, was not pleased that I wasn’t talking about coming home. She’d told me more than once that I should already be back in the city since classes would start in two weeks.
My thoughts were on school, when I heard Dylan’s voice in front of me. “Earth to my sweet Hallie, what’s got that pretty face all serious?” I’d been twirling my empty margarita glass on the bar top. Dylan was on the other side looking like a heavenly creature sent to Earth to tempt us to sin.
“Would you want to come with me to New York? Just for a couple days. I think I’m going to see if I can take classes online for the Fall semester.” I said, peering up at him, nerves crashing inside me. Going on my own, just didn’t have much appeal, and that made me nervous, but I planned to tuck that away to think about why later.
“Sure, I can manage that. When do you want to go?” He smiled as his finger trialed down my cheek, making me shiver.
“We could drive up on Monday, maybe come back on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on when I can get an appointment with the registrar,” I said, happy he was so agreeable to joining me.
“Yeah, let’s do it. Maybe you can take me to a tourist trap or two. I’ve never been to New York,” he winked at me as one of his regular patrons called him from the other side of the bar top.
It wasn’t that I had to go back to campus to plan though I suspected it would be easier. The trip was more to show my face to my mother. Maybe a visit would calm her down and I could explain I just wasn’t ready to come back. It couldn’t hurt to reassure her that I could study anywhere.
“So, do I get to meet your mom?” I jumped a little, not realizing Dylan was back standing in front of me.
“Yes, though I’m going to book a hotel.”
“A hotel room to share?” Dylan waggled his eyebrows, and I laughed.
“We’ll see. I may have to spend the nights at my mom’s if I’m going to calm her down to my plan.”
“She’s really that upset that you're staying with your dad?”
“Let’s just say if she was still paying for my tuition, she would have kicked up a shit storm if I said I was crossing state lines,” I stressed my point by taking the lime off the fresh drink Dylan placed in front of me and squeezed it into the glass contents.
“She sounds like a real peach,” Dylan winked at me again and grabbed the hand that still had remnants of lime juice sliding down it and brought it to his mouth, liking the juice with his tongue.
My heart began to beat faster, and I clenched my legs together, the delicious wetness causing tingles. Dylan had been so patient with me when I kept pushing sex off the table. It was a couple weeks after we’d first met that we started kissing and exploring a bit, but when it came to sealing the deal, I always pumped the brakes. I wasn’t waiting for some special, magical moment. Honestly, my hesitation was more in that I really liked him. Had grown to care for him so rapidly that I just didn’t want to rush. I’d had two long term boyfriends that I’d cared for, but what I was feeling for Dylan was something else entirely. Sex wasn’t something I shied away from, I’d spent plenty of time on casual hook ups, even taking a girl or two to bed. But somehow, I didn’t want sex with Dylan to be just something I did to get off. Even if he didn’t feel the same way about me as I did about him, I wanted all the complicated emotions. Who was I kidding, if my intuition was even close to being right, Dylan was totally feeling the same about me. If he didn’t then he was one fucking, talented actor and deserved an award.
“Oh, she’s something alright,” I finally said and smiled. “Hey, you’ve never taken me to your place.”
Dylan smiled, “true, but in my defense, you always said you had to go home because you weren’t ready to tell your dad about us.
“I could stay the night,” I offered.
“You sure?”
“Abso-fucking-lutely,” I smirked, standing up to kiss his cheek.
After closing, I followed Dylan from The Boilermaker back to Willow Springs. It surprised me when he passed the town and kept heading up the windy, mountain road. For some reason, I didn’t think he lived so far outside of town. When we turned off the main road, we hit an unpaved path surrounded by trees. It was so dark; it was a bit creepy. The crescent moon only gave off so much light, but it was pretty how many stars were visible with no light pollution marring the view. At my family’s place, you could see the sky unobstructed too, but maybe it was the city in my blood. Each time I saw it, it still made me awestruck. We’d kept driving, and I wasn’t sure if we’d gone a mile or maybe two before Dylan’s car veered to the left and a spotlight illuminated, unexpectedly. The bright light showcased a cabin, but it was hard to make out a lot of detail from here. Relief engulfed me as I noticed Dylan’s brake lights as he steered his jeep to the right, so I maneuvered beside him and put my car in park. Grabbing my purse, I switched off my headlights then the ignition. As I opened my car door, Dylan was standing nearby, waiting for me. Before I had a chance to fully take in my surroundings, Dylan pulled me into his arms, kissing me.
“I’m glad you’re here,” he said.
“Thanks, I guess I never realized you didn’t live closer to town,” I said, absently.
“Oh, didn’t I mention it,” he said, and grabbed my hand, leading me toward his front door. Another spotlight illuminated as I heard him jiggle his keys.
Inside the cabin surprised me a little, it was very tidy with a leather couch and chair and a simple table to seat 4 on the opposite side of the space next to a kitchen separated by an island with some bar chairs. The high ceiling gave the place an open and airy feeling. In the corner, behind the couch was a set of stairs leading up to a loft space.
“Can I get you anything,” Dylan asked, giving me that smile as he placed his keys on the island.
“No, I’m good. How long have you lived here?”
“I moved out here after high school. A few years back, I did some renovations to update the place.”
“It’s nice,” I said and moved forward into the space when I noticed a hallway leading away from the main living space.
“So, sweet Hallie, feel like getting into our pjs and watching some tv in bed?”
I didn’t want to overthink my next move, so I stepped into Dylan’s space and grabbed his t-shirt in my fist, pulling him into me. The kiss ignited quickly, and I loved his hands trailing down my back as he pulled me impossibly closer into his chiseled body. My heart was hammering in my chest as I gripped his shoulders as I groaned into his mouth when he ground his hard on into my core. I was more than ready to feel him inside of me.
Breaking the kiss, I said breathlessly, “take me to your room.”
Dylan smiled widely, grabbing my hand gently and guided me down the hallway. As soon as we crossed the doorway, Dylan was on me and his hands were everywhere. We had far too many clothes on, and I tugged at the bottom of his t-shirt. Following along, he smirked as he had it off in seconds, and immediately went to his belt. I didn’t bother waiting as I got my own shirt and bra off and stepped forward intending to get a quick touch of his skin when he stepped away from me letting his pants and boxers fall to the floor.
“Not until you get rid of the rest of your clothes, sweet Hallie,” Dylan said, teasing me as he drank me in.
Shivering from the look in his eyes, I’d never felt so wanted before. My pussy was drenched and tingling with need as I stepped out of my pants and panties. Completely naked, we crashed into each other, kissing and touching as Dylan guided me to the mattress, following me down. He kissed down my neck, licking and biting ever so lightly making me crazy. When Dylan grazed my clit with his two fingers, I almost leapt off the bed.
“Please, I want you inside me,” I panted as he worked his fingers and sucked on my nipple with his expert mouth. I tried to touch his cock, but he shifted just out of reach.
“Patience baby,” he cooed, moving his two fingers inside me, still strumming my clit with his thumb. The sensation had me climbing so high as he nibbled my skin and took my other nipple into his mouth, sucking and licking. When I came it was an explosion, blinding my eyes with stars, but Dylan had no plans to let me recover as he spread my legs wider and drove his thick cock into me at the same time. Gasping from the delicious shock of all that I was feeling, I wrapped my legs around him and pulled him closer.
“Fuck,” I cried out as he bit my shoulder, slamming into me harder. The bed groaned and I dug my nails into his back, relishing how masterful he was at making me feel utterly possessed.
“You’re so fucking tight,” he groaned into my ear, licking the edge of it. “Put your fingers on that pretty pussy, Hallie. I need you to come again.”
There was no time to be shy as I did as he asked. Not that I needed the extra encouragement as I’d already started to climb. Just as the stars sparked again, I felt Dylan twitch and grunt as he jerked his orgasm spilling into me. After a moment, he stilled on top of me.
“You're on the pill, right?” He said in my ear.
“Yeah,” I said, just realizing he’d never stopped to put on a condom.
“Don’t worry, Hallie, I’m clean,” he said, and kissed me, quick on the mouth before slipping out of me and moving to lie on his back, his breathing heavy.
The comment didn’t seem to be worth a remark, so I turned toward him watching his chest rise and fall as he calmed down, his forearm covering his eyes. I wanted to demand what he was thinking about but decided not to. Maybe it was the phenomenal sex, but my feelings were bubbling over and the last thing I could face was him not returning my endearment.
“Fuck me, that was worth the wait,” he said, peering over at me and smiling. “Let’s go shower.”
There was no way I was going to turn down that invite.
