Library

8. Xander

With Luke pinned underneath me, unable to get up even if he wanted to, I gave him his first taste. I dipped my head, locking lips, and gave him a long, deep kiss. I gave him a sense of everything I had to offer: life, death, immortality, pain, pleasure.

He tried to kiss me again as I pulled away, but I had to be cautious with him on this first night. Vampires were intoxicating creatures. Too much, and he would regret it in the morning. Not enough, and he wouldn’t bother coming back. It was a fine line to walk, but I had more than enough experience with humans like him.

I lowered my head again to nibble at his neck, taking care not to break flesh. I needed to practice restraint and a single drop of blood now would make restraint all but impossible. Luke let out a long, low moan as my teeth brushed against his skin.

“This is heaven,” he murmured. “I want more.”

“In time,” I assured him.

My cock strained against my suit pants, reminding me how much more I wanted as well. It was difficult to resist these carnal pleasures when I was so deeply attracted to the man I was with.

Despite Luke’s flaws, I’d been intrigued by him the moment he stepped foot in the library for his date with me. He was everything I wanted in someone. Perhaps The Librarian’s reputation did precede them. Perhaps this would be another success story for them to write in their book.

I moved down Luke’s chest, allowing my hands to travel lower, wrapping around his cock when they found it. Luke let out a hiss from between his clenched teeth. He’d long since closed his eyes, head resting back on the satiny pillow, as I worked my magic on him.

I could have teased him for hours if I wanted to and there would have been nothing he could do about it. But the time had come for me to fuck him, which meant I had to rid my body of the suit currently acting as armor for me to hide behind.

I didn’t want Luke to see me naked. I looked like a normal man at first glance, but the vampirism of it all became more apparent the longer one looked. My skin was pale and sallow, indicative of my lack of soul. My chest contained a heart with no beat, nothing to hear or feel when a hand pressed against it. I was a shell of a man, the curse of immortality being the only thing to keep me going.

Luke, the sweet, innocent man he was, knew very little about vampires. Was he truly ready to see one naked, fully exposed, in front of him? I couldn’t answer that with confidence yet, and I wasn’t sure I ever wished to find out.

Luke noticed that I had ceased kissing and caressing him and he opened his eyes, studying me closely.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“Nothing,” I replied a bit too quickly.

“I loved what you were doing if that’s what you’re worried about.”

I didn’t respond. I didn’t have anything to say. If I told him now what my worry was, he might laugh – or worse, grow fearful, as he was apt to do. Instead, I excused myself to the bathroom where I could undress in peace.

As I left, leaving behind a confused Luke, I blew out the candles in the sconce.

“What was that for?” he asked.

“The light is hurting my eyes,” I lied.

While it was true that I could see better in the dark, I was more concerned about ensuring that Luke couldn’t see anything at all.

When I returned, Luke was still waiting for me in bed, and I wasted no time climbing back on top of him, this time with no fabric as a barrier between us.

I let him kiss me back now, lingering as long as he wanted. His tongue slipped inside my mouth, sliding across my fangs with a tentativeness that I shared. If he cut his tongue on the pointed tips, the taste of blood would consume me. I was already on the precipice of losing control. I didn’t need that to send me over the edge.

Without breaking myself away from Luke, I pushed his knees up, shifting between his legs, my cock pressed against him. With one hand, I reached toward the bedside table drawer and opened it, fishing a bottle out from between a small stack of tissues and a container of iron supplements.

The bottle was a stark contrast to the rest of the room – it was bright purple with white, bubbly lettering spattered across the front. Even in the dark, it stood out.

This bottle was one of the few newer items inside this house, and I had to admit, lubricants had come a long way since I first began to have sex over two centuries ago.

“What’s that?” Luke asked, lifting his head just enough to see what I was doing.

“What do you think it is?” I rolled my eyes.

“Lube?”

“Of course.”

“Huh. I guess I didn’t expect someone like you to have stuff like that in your house.”

I squeezed a generous amount of the substance into the palm of my hand. “I may be a monster, but I’m not that kind of a monster.”

“What about a condom?”

“And exactly what do you think that will prevent?” I asked.

“ST-oh, never mind. I forgot.”

“Clearly.”

Luke chuckled and let his head fall back on the pillow. I set the bottle on the nightstand and spread the cool, slippery fluid along the length of my cock before turning my attention back to the perfect man lying beneath me.
