Epilogue

Three Years Later

The heat is almost unbearable but I can't keep my hands off Daniel regardless. I don't know why I can't. I can tell you that there's absolutely nothing in my behavior that's compelled by fear. I'm not afraid I'm going to end up losing him if he has fewer than three orgasms a day when he's not working at the station. I'm not afraid of that at all. I think I'm afraid of not having those orgasms myself.

At the moment, I cling to his shoulders as he moves atop me. His back is covered with a sheen of sweat. Our air conditioner compressor broke, and so we're stuck without air at the moment. It's a holiday so it won't be fixed for four days.

We might check into a hotel tomorrow but he's been home from the Company 417 Station House for almost thirty minutes now, so of course we're already screwing. Hey, who knows? Maybe we'll get heat stroke and be forever locked in this embrace. I can just imagine the CSI techs arriving to see us frozen mid-screw.

That almost makes me giggle.

Even dark and morbid thoughts are giggly when I'm with my man.

My lion.

It's amazing how many things fall in place about that. Would you believe it took me almost a year to put two and two together about the jump? We were walking along one evening, strolling from the restaurant where we had dinner to a movie theater and I stopped suddenly and said, "Wait! That's how you did it! Now I get it!"

He looked at me in disbelief and asked, "Get what?"

"That's how you jumped across the whole lawn at Company 417. When you saved that schoolteacher and the little kid."

He laughed and said, "Royals have certain advantages, even in our human form."

"What about me?" I asked. "Do I have advantages?"

"You're very, very good at getting what you want."

I laugh out loud as he fucks me and, thankfully, there's a whole lot of laughter in my life so he doesn't stop to ask me what's so funny.

Well, why wouldn't there be laughter in my life. It's hot as hell in the house but I still get to enjoy my lion. I think we will check into a hotel, and so I get to enjoy him there as well. After the air is fixed, my mother-in-law the queen will be by with my cubs, all three of them, and we'll get back to our wonderful, perfect life.

Seems to me there ought to be a lot of laughter. A whole lot.

Laughter and happiness forever. Why not?

Forever!

Did you enjoy reading Lion"s Second Chance King? I really enjoy these firemen shifters, and after writing several novels, I like how the mythology is coming together for me. I guess all girls are like me a little bit, how you hope you're really a princess when you're growing up. I love these sexy shifters and I love this sexy world.

And I think I love Daniel! I swear it seems like I fall in love with my leading man shifters every single time I write one. I hope you enjoyed Daniel and Makayla as well. There aren't any secrets left between them. I think Daniel and Makayla are going to have a great life together.

You might even say they're going to live happily ever after.

If you enjoyed this story, then I have no doubt you'll love the next one.

Harper Richardson really doesn't like Crane Patterson. It started one morning when he saw a very attractive young redhead about her age leaving his house. There was no doubt at all about the kind of night the two had. Well, that didn't bother her too much. It was kind of funny and sexy, actually. He must be the sexiest man alive, tall and muscular, and a fireman, of course. So, she doesn't mind. She even likes thinking about it.

Until the brunette leaves in the morning a few days later.

And then the blonde.

And another redhead.

And over the months, every hair color imaginable. The man is sleeping with women left and right, and she can't believe the gall! She knows if he were a woman, everyone would be up in arms about the slut in the neighborhood. She's never polite to him, and she does her best to avoid talking to him at all. She makes it clear just how she feels about him, too. Then one evening, she's locked outside of her house in the rain and she has no choice but to seek shelter with him until she can get a locksmith.

And that's when Harper discovers exactly why women keep showing up for him to enjoy.

What will happen next? Find out in Wolf"s Enemies to Lover"s Howl, the next exciting tale in the sexy, steamy age gap shifter firefighter romance series Company 417 Fireman Shifters!
