Chapter 27

Lucifer's POV

I couldn't get Catalina's scream out of my head. Every second that I didn't find Raphael or Micheal the sound of her scream got louder in my head. The sound of her scream had shaken me to my core and I never wanted her that scared ever again. She wanted to help though. Even though she was frightened, she wanted to help. I couldn't have her out here though. I didn't know how many of them would be out here and I wasn't going to risk her getting hurt.

Micheal and Raphael could be anywhere. She could be in trouble because of me!

I should've gotten her out of here sooner.

The moment Gabriel had suspicions about Micheal I should've taken her somewhere safe. I should have never left her to allow Micheal to get close to her. I should have gotten her far away from him. Because now, because of me Micheal got close. Too close and I didn't even know. Because of me-

"GAbrIEL!"

No!

I rushed back and saw the balcony door wide open and the room empty.

WHERE IS SHE!!

Her dagger still rested on her nightstand and clothes were tossed on the bed and floor and two bags were placed on the dresser yet nothing was in them.

Check downstairs, idiot!

Slowly I made my way to the stairs trying to be as quiet as I could. But when I saw him, I wanted to kill Micheal for many things, seeing Gabriel on his knees with Micheal's sword pressed up against his throat enraged me but I slid into murderous fury when I saw who stood in front of Micheal, who he had his hands on.

Micheal always claimed I was a monster, and for her, I would gladly become one so I could rip each of his fingers off and watch as Catalina burned him alive.

I slowly approached, pulling my dagger out,

One shot, I have one shot.

and as if sensing me Micheal turned around.

Immediately her eyes found mine, I glanced down and could see the bright red handprint on her neck.

Slowly. I'll kill him Slowly.

"Lucifer, so glad you could join us." The bastard looked at me with a smile on his face.

I took a step towards him, ready to peel his disgusting hands off of her, but he grabbed her neck again and squeezed tight.

"Not another step," Micheal smirked as Catalina struggled against his hold,

I'm going to enjoy killing you for this.

"Get your fucking hands off of her!"

Micheal laughed,

"Where should I put my hands then Lucifer?"

He dragged his one hand slowly down her body and grabbed her thigh,

"Maybe here," he smirked as he squeezed her thigh

Catalina flinched as his fingers slowly curved inward.

"Get any fucking closer and I'll rip your damn fingers off and shove them down your throat!" She sneered at him as he laughed,

"Fiery attitude, Soft skin, and a soft delicate little voice to offset that dirty little mouth." He made his way back up to her throat, his eyes never leaving mine,

"I wonder though Lucifer, What does she taste like?"

"I will drag you to the pit myself and watch you burn."

Micheal laughed again, squeezing Catalina's neck a little tighter,

"Why are you doing this?"

"To stop you. You want the world to be tainted like you were and I cannot allow that to happen."

I shook my head at him,

"We both know that is not true Micheal!"

Micheal, with his free hand, reached up again and caressed Catalina's cheek,

"You've already tainted her, I'll have to fix that." His voice mocking an innocent tone. As if he didn't have a blade to our brother's throat and his hands on the woman I loved.

"STOP. FUCKING. TOUCHING. HER!"

"We know what really happened that day, Micheal!" Gabriel yelled and Michael slowly turned his head to face him.

* * *

Catalina's POV

He's alive! He's here and he's alive!

"Lucifer never wanted the mortals dead. You lied to us for centuries. We turned our backs on him for what?" Gabriel spits out as Raphael pressed the sword closer. Causing another small bead of blood dripped down his neck.

For a brief moment, his eyes meet mine.

I made my decision.

I wasn't going to let Micheal hurt anyone else any more than he already had. He had to be stopped. I wouldn't let Micheal do this to the people I cared about, to the people I loved.

I closed my eyes and thought of every awful thing Micheal had done. Not to me but to them. To Lucifer and Gabriel. Every lie he told. Every time he put his hands on them. Every time he made them suffer. Slowly the comforting warm feeling washed over me, Micheal's grasp on me tightened,

"What is this?"

When I opened my eyes, Micheal and I were surrounded by a cage of pure fire. A pool of blazing orange fire surrounded us as ten large pillars encased us and connected above our heads. A cage. Cage of fire. Hellfire.

I did it! I actually did it!

Lucifer stormed over towards Raphael, disarming him and freeing Gabriel. Lucifer and Gabriel faced Raphael, circling him. Together they struck, Gabriel gripping both of Raphael's arms, pulling them back as Lucifer delivered punch after punch to Raphael's face until he collapsed into the chair. Unconscious.

"There's zip ties in the drawer in the kitchen, grab them!" Gabriel yelled. Lucifer rushed to the kitchen, pulling out four pairs of zip ties from the drawer and rushing to Gabriel.

"Get Forseti's ass here now!"

Lucifer yelled to Gabriel while he tied the zip ties around Raphael's wrists. Gabriel Immediately got on the phone as Micheal yelled,

"GAbrIEL YOU WILL DO NO SUCH THING!"

Lucifer walked up to the edge of the circle and the two brothers stared at each other.

"Lucifer," I whispered as his gaze locked on mine,

"Let her go Micheal,"

Micheal's grip on me tightened as Gabriel came up behind him,

"Forseti will be here in 2 minutes."

"Call it off or she dies Lucifer!"

"You won't kill her. You won't take the risk."

"Want to bet brother?"

Micheal tightened his grip even more, so much so that my vision started to blur.

"Sounds like you don't want Forseti here Micheal, I wonder why that is," Lucifer smirked,

"Last chance Lucifer!"

Lucifer finally looked away from me as he locked his gaze on Micheal,

"This is absurd!" Micheal screamed, his voice filled with so much anger that reminded me so much of my mother.

Gabriel stomped up to the edge of the cage,

"No Micheal, what is absurd is lying to us for CENTURIES!"

"Gabriel, wake Raphael's ass up now."

"I'll take her with me once I'm out of here Lucifer and you will never see her again!"

"You can try but I'm pretty sure Lucifer will gut you open before you can even reach the door." Forseti's familiar voice rang through as she got closer,

"What is the meaning of this?" Raphael asked as he woke and realized he was bound to a chair.

"Tell us your version of the events leading up to my fall."

"You know damn well what happened."

His grip on my throat tightened,

"Tell us." Gabriel seethed

"What happened? You already know what happened as does everyone here Lucifer! You got jealous. You wanted mortals dead so you plotted against them, Lilith was your trial run, and when we found out, instead of owning up to your mistakes you lied as you always have. All because you were jealous of the mortals and your jealousy tainted you, so you tainted Lilith and tried to taint Adam. Because of you and your actions, Lilith is dead and our father left us!"

He stopped speaking but I could feel his chest rise and fall,

"Liar," Forseti whispered.

Forseti tilted her head to the side, as if in deep contemplation.

"You dare to call me a liar?"

"Lucifer was never jealous of mortals, you were. You were the one who wanted the mortals dead."

All eyes went to Micheal as he stiffened, turning so still he could've been a statue dedicated to a raging deity.

"They should all be dead, we didn't need them, He didn't need them," Micheal seethed as he locked his gaze on Lucifer,

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"FATHER! He thought he could replace us, replace us with broken, imperfect cheap imitations. We were the better design, we were the better creation and he should have seen that but I had to show him."

Micheal chuckled as Lucifer's eyes remained on him, a dark fury storming behind them.

"I needed a plan and when I saw you with Lilith I knew exactly what to do, I gave Adam orders to keep trying to get Lilith to submit to him, to do whatever he saw fit to make her listen and he did. He continued his little lessons of-"

"I know damn well what he did to her," Lucifer cut him off, rage pouring out of him as the memories of what happened with Lilith played in his mind,

"I needed you gone to make my plan work, I needed a way to get what I wanted and a way to paint you as the villain and I knew you would respond to her pleas," Micheal chuckled as he gripped me tighter,

"Lucifer the fierce defender, such a good doer, and when you healed Lilith and started asking about healing her I knew it was working. it was only a matter of time before your temper slipped and you would lash out at Adam and you delivered Lucifer,"

Micheal laughed as Lucifer clenched his fists at his sides,

"I remember when we brought you and Adam in that last time, You did a number on him. You broke every damn bone in his face and it helped, especially when you refused to give up Lilith. Everything fell right into place. You were going to be gone and I was going to be able to convince Father of his mistake without anyone being able to defend them."

Micheal's eyes darkened as he stared at his brother,

"What I didn't expect was for him to be so hurt by your banishment and the death of one creation. Father left us because of them, he cared more about these flawed creations than he did about us-"

"Micheal, what are you saying?" Raphael asked, his eyes slightly widening,

" WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH TO KEEP FATHER HAPPY! WE WERE ALL HE NEEDED"

Micheal chuckled as he continued,

"Instead he went and created his own little playthings. Shiny new toys to play with and he forgot about us. The children that had been by his side for EONS! He left us as soon as one of his creations died! So maybe just maybe I figured if we got rid of them, he'd come back, probably to make more but he'd be back and I would prove to him he doesn't need these silly little things. All he needs is us."

Lucifer was the first to speak,

"All the gods came together to make mortals not just our father, they aren't just his creations. Father loved us, Micheal, you know he did. Just as you know he cared for the mortals deeply."

"He didn't care enough about them to make them so fragile. They are defective parasites."

Micheal, with his eyes still on Lucifer, tilted my head up to face him.

"I wonder exactly how fragile they made her."

Before anyone could respond Micheal released me and threw me forward into my own flame. I quickly put it out but not quick enough as for a brief moment my hand touched the blazing pillar of fire.

Lucifer screamed and I saw him try to make his way to me but Micheal launched him and Gabriel across the room and ran over to where Raphael dropped his sword. Micheal, with burning fury in his eyes, stalked over and raised his sword above Lucifer's head.

"NO!" Gabriel screamed as he launched himself in front of Lucifer taking the deadly blow.

* * *

NO NO NO NO NO!

Gabriel and Lucifer were not going to die! Not at the hands of this pathetic excuse of life. I thought about how much I would really appreciate having my own sword with me and with my flame, I made one. An exact replica of Micheal's sword, and launched it at Micheal, hitting him in the middle of his chest and pinning him against the wall like a disgusting piece of art.

Lucifer was already by Gabriel's side as I rushed over beside him,

"What's happening? Is he going to be alright?"

"We need to get that sword out of him before it can do more damage."

Gabriel coughed and blood slowly started to spill from the corner of his mouth as he reached out and grabbed Lucifer's hand,

"Don't."

"Gabriel just stay with us and everything will be okay." I brushed the hair out of his face and could feel the tears slowly trailing down my face,

"Let me assess him and I can help," Raphael shouted from the chair he'd been tied to.

"Why the fuck should we trust you!"

"Do you want me to assess his injuries or not?!"

Lucifer and I exchanged a look.

Can we really trust him?

"Untie him, Catalina."

"Do we really have to?"

"I need to know if taking this sword out will do more harm than good and Raphael is one of the best medics I know so please untie him, Catalina."

I gently placed Gabriel's head down and rushed over to untie Raphael,

"If you harm him or Lucifer, I will kill you and gladly mount your head on a stick. Understand me?" I said as I cut the zip ties from Raphael's wrists,

"Understood," Raphael whispered just before rushing over to Gabriel.

I turned to go back to Gabriel but the sound of Micheal moaning in pain halted me, I looked over and the sword was still in his chest, blood slowly leaking down, dripping onto the floor.

You deserve a fate much worse than death!

Slowly I made my way over to Micheal raising my hand and I watched as the sword in his chest grew bigger and bigger. Just a few minutes and the sword would make its way to his heart. Killing him. The sound of his screams made me smile as I expanded the sword into his chest, inching closer to his heart. His cries echoing off the walls of the house.

Now that is a beautiful sound.

* * *

Lucifer's POV

"Luckily he missed his heart, it looks like he hit his liver. He's losing blood but it seems like his grace will be intact, but he is bleeding out very quickly." Raphael explained as he assessed Gabriel's injury.

"So what do we do?"

"We pull the sword out. He'll start bleeding out but if we begin healing him as soon as possible he'll be okay. He's too weak to heal himself so one of us will have to do it."

I nodded as I wrapped my hands on the hilt of the sword,

"On the count of three, One, Two-"

I pulled the sword out and Gabriel's bloody scream echoed off the walls as the sword was pulled from his body.

I tossed the sword to the side and made my way over to cover the wound. Gabriel coughed as more blood slowly came out of his mouth,

"No."

"Gabriel, it's going to be okay," I said as I took his hand,

"No," Gabriel repeated,

"Do not heal me and do not stop the bleeding."

Raphael looked up,

"Are you insane?" He shouted,

Gabriel chuckled,

"Possibly but trust me I know what I'm doing."

Gabriel's eyes locked on mine and I could see the tears slowly started to fall down his cheeks,

"Brother I am so sorry for everything."

"Gabriel, do not apologize, we need to heal your wound-"

"I love you Lucifer," Gabriel whispered softly, his lips shaking as he spoke.

"I love you too brother but please let us help you," I said, clutching his hand a little tighter.

"Just wait a little bit longer please."

"Gabriel you will bleed out if we don't pack the wound," Raphael said as he leaned in a bit closer.

Gabriel smiled,

"I know."

Before I could respond, Micheal's blood-curdling scream pierced my ears. I turned and looked to see Catalina, hand outstretched towards Micheal, and the sword she created logged in his chest growing bigger.

"Go to her Lucifer, I'll stay with Gabriel." Raphael took Gabriel's hand as I stared down at my brother,

"Go, she needs you."

I nodded at him and made my way to Catalina, gently pushing her hand down. Her skin was burning hot. It was as if the fire lived inside of her. As if she had fully given herself over to the fire that lived inside of her.

"That's enough Catalina."

Nothing. It was as if she had lost herself and given herself over to the flame. Only listening to the sound of crackling embers as they buried themselves deeper into Micheal's chest.

Come back my Morningstar. Please.

I intertwined my fingers with hers,

"Catalina Listen to me, I know you are very angry right now and you have every right to be, trust me I want to kill him as much as you do but the others need to know about what happened. No one will know the truth if you kill him here and now."

If Micheal died here and now, no one would know of the centuries of lies he's told. If they saw Micheal dead, they would assume either she or I killed him for some devious scheme. They would go after her and I would not allow that to happen. I grabbed her chin and looked into those beautiful green eyes that still held that touch of orange throughout.

"I promise you my Morningstar, when that day comes you will have the final blow."

Come back to me.

The sword in Micheal's chest disappeared and Micheal fell to the ground unconscious.

I glanced back at Catalina as the orange in her eyes seemed to grow.

She glanced behind me and her eyes went wide with shock and horror as she took in Gabriel, barely moving and lying in a pool of his own blood on the floor.

I watched as she ran over to Gabriel and slammed to her knees beside him,

"Why aren't you healing him? He's dying!" She shouted as she looked at me with tears in her eyes.

"He isn't dying, he's bleeding," Raphael said softly.

"Exactly!" She yelled,

"So heal him!"

"I will once he bleeds out."

"HE WILL DIE!" Catalina shouted, pain and sadness prominent in her voice as she looked down at Gabriel, gently brushing the hair that had fallen on his brow,

"No. No, he will not," I said as I walked over and knelt beside her,

"He will not die. Gabriel, like myself, is an archangel. We do not need blood to live."

"What?"

Gently, I took her hands in mine,

"Remember when we first started training and you asked about how to kill our kind?"

She shook her head at me, tears racing down her face,

"Our grace is the way we survive, not our blood. Piercing the heart or decapitation is the only way to kill us." Raphael explained to Catalina. His face was somber as he gazed down at Gabriel, a pool of his blood beginning to surround us.

"He is not dying, he is simply bleeding out. Micheal did not hit his heart, once Gabriel is done bleeding out we will begin to heal him."

"But why-" Catalina asked

Gabriel cut her off,

"Because I love my brother."

Catalina laughed as I saw a small movement coming from the ground where Micheal lay.

Fucking bastard.

I couldn't kill him yet, but that didn't mean I couldn't hurt him. I stood up and made my way to him, picking him up by his collar and punching him in the face,

"That is for putting your hands on her throat."

Another punch.

"That was for Gabriel."

Another punch.

"That is for putting your hands on her."

Another punch.

"Mark my words Lucifer I will make you pay for this-"

I dropped Micheal and took his hands in mine and squeezed as I bent them backward.

The sound of Micheal's screams and the bones in his hands being crushed was exhilarating. He deserved worse than this. He deserved endless pain and torture. He deserved to rot in the pit.

Micheal was on his knees, blood cascading down his swollen face when I felt it. The familiar feeling of dark power that I hadn't felt in centuries and when I looked around I was surrounded by my familiar shadows. The darkest of souls straight from the lowest level. Ready to listen to my command.

Micheal's eyes widened as he took in what was before him.

Standing in front of him is no longer his powerless, exiled younger brother, but Lucifer, The King of Hell.

"Oh, this is about to get so much more fun."
