I was always told that when I met my mate, my perfect match, I would know. The world would come into focus around them. There would be no question. No doubt. I scoffed at such romantic sensibilities. I had spent eons alive and no such person had called to me, no matter how much I searched.
The moment I opened my eyes, I knew the stories were true.
He hovered over me. His eyes were the fairest green I'd ever seen and his hair was as red as flame. His fingers held my face in such a gentle grasp while his melodious voice slid across my ears, the words without meaning.
At that moment, the universe aligned and my world centered on this one man. I had lived all of these years for him. He was the reason. My only reason. He was the sun and the moon by which I would live.
