Chapter Twenty-Six

Leah

My mouth hangs open in shock, Darius’s eyes are wide. When I hear the splashing I quickly finish tying my top and not a second too soon, because Darius is yanked away from me to reveal a pissed off looking Corvin standing there. I reach out to grab my brothers arm but he yanks it away as he gets in Darius’s face.

“What the fuck was that?” Corvin shouts in his face. Darius schools his features, keeping his face blank and looking bored.

“Would you have rather me let everyone get an eye of her tits?” I flinch at the harsh tone of his voice. Corvin frowns as he looks over to me. I nod agreeing that what Darius says is true.

“My top came undone when Crue and I were diving for the ball, Darius covered me while I fixed it.” My voice trembles and I hope like hell he doesn’t notice. He turns back to Darius and eyes him warily for a second.

“You better not have looked, dick!” Darius rolls his eyes and shoves Corv playfully. “I mean it, my sister is off limits to all you fuckers.” My heart sinks. Darius shoots me a quick glance before swimming back to his side of the pool where Beck stands waiting. Corvin places his hands on my shoulders and smiles but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “Don’t get cute with any of these guys because they know touching you would mean the end of the five of us.” Unable to speak I just nod and fight to push the feeling of dread out of me.

Corvin left an hour ago to go to some party thing. It’s only three in the afternoon so it must not be a good party. The guys and I have been hanging out in the pool all day. I invited Cody and Katie over as well and they have been trying to teach Saint and Crue our routine. Beck and I are laying on the loungers laughing at them while Darius dashed inside to get us some drinks.

“You move like a freaking giraffe!” Cody abolishes as Saint tries to do the Monestray dance . “You’re so stiff!” She adds, exasperated. Saint stops trying and presses into my friend. Cody doesn’t move or even seem affected by his nearness, the reason for that is because I know who she has a crush on.

“I’ll show you what’s stiff,” he says cockily. Cody runs her hand down his naked chest suggestively. Saint smiles triumphantly.

“Oh, baby, if I wanted to prick my vagina with a needle, I’d get a sewing kit.” The smile vanishes from Saint’s face while the rest of us burst out into fits of laughter.

“What’s so funny?” Darius asks as he comes back and hands Beck and I our drinks. I cringe when I see he opted for a protein shake instead of a water.

I’m going straight to hell!

Beck fills him on what happened. Saint shoots us a glare as he pushes Cody in the pool. Not one to be deterred, he moves onto Katie who holds her hand out stopping him before he can get too close.

“I have recently discovered I prefer to eat pussy than suck dick, so unless you’re down to have your ass eaten, I’m not the girl for you.” Saint throws his head back laughing as he slings his arm around my girl’s shoulders and pulls her into his side.

“I think I fucking love you!” Katie rolls her eyes and pushes away from Saint to dive into the pool. I cut a glance to the side to see Crue standing there with a hurt look on his face, my mouth dropping open in shock. I spin to face Darius and Beck. Darius clamps a hand over my mouth and shakes his head.

“Mind ya business, Goldie.” My eyes dart between him and Beck, they both knew! “What they get up to behind closed doors does not concern us.” I nod and he drops his hand. Feeling like ruffling his feathers, I stand and love the way his eyes travel the length of my body and drink me in.

“Does what we do behind closed doors concern Beckett?” Beck’s mouth drops open. Before Darius can reach for me, I take off laughing and jump into the pool laughing so hard I swallow a bit of water before I break the surface.

“So, are you like, living here now?” Cody asks me. Me, Katie and Cody are sitting out on the back deck on the loungers while the guys are inside catching up with Corv. Today has been the best day I have had in months. Hanging out with my brother and the guys, then having the girls come over has made this the best day ever.

“No, I’m just staying here for the weekend,” I answer.

“So have you been nailed against the wall yet?” I swat Katie on the arm as the three of us laugh.

Shaking my head, I say, “No, we just slept and it was… nice.”

Cody scrunches her face up. “If I was tapping that, the last thing I would be doing is sleeping!” I roll my eyes.

“We all know who you would rather be sleeping with,” Katie teases. Cody stiffens, and I place my hand atop hers and smile.

“I would be the world’s biggest hypocrite if I told you to stay away from my brother. If you like him then… go for it.” Cody stares at me like I have lost my mind. Who knows, maybe I bloody have. We spend the rest of the night laughing and joking around, talking about our dance and if we are really going to do it at the finals. I’ve never had girlfriends like this before and honestly, it is the most amazing feeling to have friends who don’t judge you or want to use you because of who you are related to. Cody and Katie support me and my choices, which is why I would do anything for these girls because friends like this are once in a lifetime type of friends.

Darius and I spend the rest of the night tangled in the sheets. He makes me come so many times that I pass the fuck out, utterly exhausted and spent in the best possible way. When Sunday morning rolls around, the guys decide that we need to pack a picnic and spend the day at the beach. I of course invite my girls who are always down to hang out. I love that they get on with the guys and there is no tension between any of us, just good vibes.

When we sit down to eat, guilt washes over me at the sight of Saint and Darius drinking their pre-made protein shakes they brought from home. I am a shitty fucking person. I spend the rest of the day in a sour mood as the reality of what I’m doing crashes down on me. When it’s time to call it a day, I decide to head back with the girls, much to Corvin and Darius’s dismay. Truth is, the guilt is eating me alive and won’t allow me to be near them any longer.

The girls and I spend the rest of the evening catching up on homework. I ignore the numerous texts and calls from Big D and Piece of shit! I just need to get through the next few weeks and then everything will be fine. I just hope that they can forgive me when the truth comes out. I just need to finish this and then he will be gone for good and I’ll finally be free of this weight on my shoulders.

I manage to avoid Darius and the others for the entire week. With the game coming up they have been training hard and every spare minute they get is spent in the gym, so I’ve been lucky. When the weekend rolls around, that was more difficult. I had to fake being sick and not wanting to spread my germs to the guys before the big game. Darius blew my phone up nonstop. I’ve barely been replying to him all week. What the hell do I even say to him, I’m sorry I ruined your life?

He is going to hate me, I can feel it in my heart there is no coming back from what I’ve done. I’m trying to distance myself from him so when the inevitable happens, I’m hoping the pain won’t be as crippling. I’m kidding myself, I know it is going to destroy me but I can’t look him in the eyes knowing what I’ve done.
